  some judged me for going/having gone to university.

  some judged me for being 'too smart.

  ' some judged my non jw brother for being in the army.

  I had a Totes tan hat I used to wear. Elders, servents and a few others said I had a "Jewish Theological hat" and for months I was not allowed to pray in the cong or Aux pioneer. It was just a hat I bought at Sears!

  There was a lot of anti-semitism in the congregation.

  It will be very interesting getting that book-I will have to ask my brother to get me a copy when he goes.

  Was the book printed in Wallkill?

  Is the book pocket size or magazine size?

  TheOldHippie is correct. Organization books are not available to the public. Perhaps it may be announced and congregations can request copies later in the year.

  I don't think they will bother to update the Proclaimers book. The Divine Purpose book was never updated.

  My guess is a new brochure about the organization keeping watch or perhaps a new 192 page book about the kingdom?

  Is It Possible? Are They Retiring To Warwick?

  i'm not making a bold assertion here, just pursuing an idea.

  what would have to happen to prove that the watchtower is probably "packing it up", conceding the field, retiring to their new headquarters in senescent peace?.

  the dramatic changes we have observed are mostly motivated by money or legal concerns - but not all, as with cutting back on meetings.. you could reasonably have an old guard that still fanatically hopes for armageddon, any day now, while younger men keep their doubts private.

  30th Anniversary of THAT classic 1914 WT front cover

  please join with me, and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the classic wt with the front cover which boldly proclaimed that the generation of 1914 would never pass away.. the cover date of the that wt is infact this very day so let us raise a glass to this clear sign they have god's backing:.

  in this the 100th anniversary of our lords return (invisibly of course brothers) it is a fine and appropriate thing to do..

  I remember those special issues on 1914-there were 4 of them I think.

  Witnesses are probubly encouraged (warned) not to read those issues! It is "old light, old truths".

  Anonymous Donation - Not!

  my mother in law (in her 80's) just told me that she had the elders around to pick up her 'donation' pledge.

  it was 'suggested that $20 a month was the average amount pledged but she could pledge more or less.

  so, rather than an anonymous amount they have a signed document stating the amount of her pledge.

  if an average of $20 was donated each month by each of the nearly 8 million witnesses the wts would collect almost 2 billion dollars a year!

  your grandmother has the same attitude as my brother-put the organization (slave) first, obey the slave.

  Hello- new here

  been lurking for a while on here and thought i'd jump in.

  a great deal of many thoughtful posts on here but have to say am a bit turned off with the 'rabid apostate' ones!.

  my history- was raised in a divided household, mum converted to jw when pregnant with me back in 1970, dad was never jw but was supportive of taking us to meetings, assemblies etc.

  welcome Kikura!

  You are very fortunate to have found a loving boyfriend and have a happy life.

  I gave up meetings all together in 2005 yet the wts still has a weird kind of hold on me though I know the tatt. I wish I could break free completely.

  I lost my faith in god after discovering the tatt.
