Where did you sit in the KH?
by Evidently Apostate inthe official wt understanding on where to park your butt during the meeting is to move around from meeting to meeting in order to get in more association or whatever but i never really saw things that way.
the kh seating arraingment at my hall went as follows;.
if you sat in the front you were really late or wanted to seem really spiritual.. the elders and pioneers always liked the same seats every meeting.. shiftless ones and those who wanted sympathy for thier back ailments would stand in the back during the talks.. ever had a sister in your hall bring in their own chair and footstool?.

With the latest Australian Special Talk, we now have a complete picture of the Organizational Plan
by WingCommander inper this australian talk, found here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/203281/1/latest-special-talk-in-australia id say we have now seen the future........ ah yes........the governing body is now starting to show their hand, to begin to show their future plans for this false-religion-cult of fear and oppression.
it has been said on here for the last few years now, that with the elimination/combination of the book study at the kingdom halls instead of at homes, the introduction of new rule books (keep yourself in god's love) and the new elder manual that a "tightening of the reigns" was beginning.
and so, just as the members of jwd and the internet have written, so it shall be done by the governing body overlords.

WingCommander- I agree- GB.2 will become stricter. They will crack down harder on the jw's and seek ever more glory and honor for themselves. ("Faithful and Discreet Slave Class? That is us!").
I was considered a "bad association" for years due to missing a lot of meetings in the fridged cong. I was in. No-one ever asked me why I missed, or tried to encourage me. The few elders who ever spoke to me would say" if you love Jehovah you would come to all the meetings. Since you miss meetings you do not love Jehovah." They could not care less about my circumstances or health problems.
I see things becoming more controlling, judgemental and oppressive in the congs. In other words, things will be as they are now...only more so!

do you miss anything from when you were a jw?
by Newborn ina few of my friends who also used to be jw's, say they miss certain things abt it...i can honestly say that i don't miss a single thing (my sister obviously who's still in but nothing else).. before i could sometimes miss having such a strong belief but that's also gone.
i guess i've moved on big time.

I miss the sense of security regarding the future- the certainty of everlasting life in the paradise earth, being healed, seeing my Mom again in the ressurection..
why did it all have to turn out to be just a fable?

The Tetragrammaton...And The Inserted Vowels
by titch infor any and all persons who may have been associated with jehovah's witnesses in the past (or currently), you have probably read, or heard information about the origin of the name "jehovah.
" as explained by witnesses, and even other religious groups, the name jehovah is merely the anglicized (or, english-language) version of the so-called "divine name.
" the thinking is that in the original hebrew language, the "divine name" was originally represented by these four english consonants: jhvh; some persons think that it might have been yhvh.

It's true- we do not know the exact Hebrew pronounciation of God's name for certain. So does this mean:
God intentionally keeps it hidden so Satan/Demons/ Apostates/Athiests/Wicked People, etc. won't be able to dishonor it?
Or is it that he does not mind our using the common pronounciation of it in our language ( and God created all the languages at Babel, right?) as long as we are respectful of it as JW's say or
God does not care what name we use for him? If he cares and wants it known why does'nt He make it known and then everyone could use it?
Oh, well...what does everyone else think?

@behemot- thanks for the figures!
RE: those trying to figure out how many fell away: remember, besides those who died many were disfellowshipped. I remember the number being around 60,000 DF per year. Does anyone have info on this?
I was counted as a publisher in 1976 and 1977 but did not get baptized until 1978. I don't see how baptism figures (and these ones are already included in the Av. and PK. Pub figures) can be used as an indication of how many fell away. The society simply reports how many got baptized during the year- all are already publishers and counted as such. The 294,000 baptized are included in the 7,500,000 publisher figure.
The increase in congregations is 1,912. This works out to 5.2 per day.
In 2009 the increase was 2031 or 5.5 per day. I remember when it was over 7 per day.
How do they explain the continuing increase of partakers? A lot of annointed are falling away and need to be replaced? Maybe the whole 144,000 need to be replaced!

Thank you for the link Leolaia.
I don't understand why some people try to pick apart or criticise the well known English pronunciation Jehovah when they have no problem at all in using the English (and therefore "wrong") pronunciations of Jesus, David, Moses and Abraham- we KNOW the correct pronunciations of these Hebrew names:
David=Dahveed
Jesus=Yehshua or Yehoshua
Moses=Mosheh
Abraham=Ahvrahm
We do not use the Hebrew pronunciations, we use the English ones.
God does not choose to allow us to know the exact, original pronunciation of his name in Hebrew. So why must people criticise the English pronounciation Jehovah? Should we give up the English, and therefore wrong, pronounciations of the Biblical Hebrew names and start pronouncing them correctly?

In my early years I'd sit 4th row from front, in the middle on the far right. tried to always sit there!
In my last years there ( different cong) I sat as close to back as possible, 3rd or 2nd from back row on right hand side. They tried saving the back rows for others.

I don't think you can use the baptism figures in comparison with publisher figures because the publisher figures already include all those who got baptized.

I found a letter that we got from Bethel when we left, it clearly says publishing plant operations.
by life is to short ini was going through some boxes the other day and found the letter we received to use for reference's in looking for work after bethel.. we left bethel in 1994 a long time ago now it seems.
the letter was written by max larson.
i have not seen this letter for years and reading it this time it struck me how cold it really was.

Bethelites are part of a special order of full time servents who take a vow of poverty. No social security. medical only while they are serving at bethel. once they leave bethel they get nothing.
