question about the memorial
by outsmartthesystem inthus far i've read some very compelling arguments regarding the memorial/passover being on nisan 15 and not 14. but i do have a question.
why does numbers 28:16 seem to indicate plainly that the passover occured on the 14th?
surely i am missing something, no?

Technically, Passover began on 14 Nisan. The lamb was to be slaughtered on the 14th. The celebration went on into the night and was eaten after sundown. The Jewish days were sundown to sundown, so the eating was on 15 Nisan. Next morning started the 7-day festival, which shares the same calendar date as the night before. This is where some probably get confused; they may see it as 2 different days. Modern American Jews don't slaughter their own lambs, so they just start it on 15 Nisan, after sundown.
I go into some detail on this subject in my paper. I don't know if you've already read it. If you have, I might have to adjust some things in it that aren't clear.

Topic #1 in my letter
by outsmartthesystem indisfellowshipping.
the bible only gives expressly, 7 things that a person may be disfellowshipped for.
found at 1 corinthians 5:11, they are: anyone that is a fornicator, a greedy person, an idolater, a reviler, a drunkard or an extortioner.

That's so cute... You think they care.
For example, the rule was changed in 1981 to target Ray Franz. For pure spite against a single individual, the Society made up a rule for everyone. The Pharisees pale in comparison to the Watchtower, where man-made rules and adding to the word of God are concerned. You think they're unaware of their actions? You believe they can be reasoned with? They print magazines that say they must be obeyed or God won't love you. They print magazines that say they speak for God and if you don't agree with something they say, then you're confused and demonized. Jesus only preached for 3 years and he'd given up on the Pharisees before he died. These type have been around for nearly 100 years (counting from Rutherford) and, no doubt, getting letters from concerned people about their shitty attitude. They didn't care then and they're sick of hearing about it.
Predecessors to these men called themselves "the Christ", in which Jesus was only part. These guys are worse and the only thing they've learned from the history of JWs and Watchtower articles is how to be sneakier. Now they couch their self-idolization in JWese code. They feign humility while demanding obedience and worship. Just be glad they don't have the political authority of the Pharisees or every DFed JW would be murdered. I firmly believe that will be part of the Great Tribulation. The only thing holding the corrupt Society and elders from slaughtering dissenters is the legal ramifications. When the governments crumble and anarchy reigns, one WT article claiming God is ruling through the GB is all they'll need to start sentencing apostates to death.
I have spoken these things to YOU that YOU may not be stumbled. Men will expel YOU from the synagogue. In fact, the hour is coming when everyone that kills YOU will imagine he has rendered a sacred service to God. But they will do these things because they have not come to know either the Father or me. Nevertheless, I have spoken these things to YOU that, when the hour for them arrives, YOU may remember I told them to YOU. - John 16:1-4

The JWs have fallen into the trap of just rejecting everything mainstream. While the mainstream may be wrong about a lot of things, this is hardly a scientific method; to assume everything must be wrong, without any investigation. This is what happened with the date of Passover. The mainstream who celebrate Passover are Jews and they do so in 15 Nisan. A tiny minority did so on 14 Nisan, so JWs jumped on that date. Of course, they turned over every rock and managed - in typical JW fashion - to find "experts" to agree and tout those minority reports as proof positive of their position.

While the obvious attempts to brand "Jehovah" as the sole property of Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and claim invention thereof are disgusting and blasphemous, I don't understand the nature of the original post. Unless the claim is being eluded to that the Bible is a complete work of Jehovah's Witness fiction, this post makes no sense. The divine name "Yhwh" (or the original Hebrew version of it) has existed for thousands of years; long before any current religion adopted it.
According to Scripture, God gave us the name to identify himself. While he goes by many other monikers - Almighty, God, Ancient of Days, Father, Adonai, Elohim, King, Lord, etc. - the tetragrammaton is used vastly more than any other name for God, in the Bible. While the JWs define "Jehovah" as meaning "causes to be", this is an assumption (like many of their decrees as "God's mouthpiece"). As in Exodus, God identified himself in a way that is often translated in English version of the Bible as "I am". This was a statement of His own existence and a likely understanding and translation of the divine name is a third-person statement of being, or simply "He is".
A deeper allusion contained in the statement translated as "I am" is self-existence. Nothing caused God to be; He just is. The Hebrew ehyeh (transliterated, since Hebrew characters don't paste) is the infamous "I am", while YHWH seems to be an ancient third-person form of hayah (being/existence). It would seem God decided to stop referring to himself as "I am" for the benefit of people to use a name that wouldn't imply the speaker was God, but referred to another.
The name Jehovah, said repeatedly by JWs is like any word spoken over and over. After a while, it begins to lose its meaning and that's what has happened. The association of the name with the cult which overuses it has tainted the name and the claiming of the divine name as its own has cheapened it. Jehovah's Witnesses, under the guise of "making God's name known" have branded the name and identified it with themselves as Nike has with the "swoosh". It's now one of the clubs they use to bash dissenters with, if they deny the claims of being exclusively God's organization - "Who else is bearing God's name and making it known?" - further sullying its holiness.

Apostasy: renunciation of a religious faith, abandonment of a previous loyalty, defection - Merriam-Webster
I don't see a problem with the Society's definition of apostate. The problem is, they load the word with propaganda, first. Every JW who converted from another religion is an apostate. All cults treat ex-members like the Antichrist. In JWland, one must belong to their group to be a Christian, so they apply scriptures about people rejecting God and Christ to apostate JWs. It's very self-serving and manipulative; like most cults. They reject Jesus' words:
John said to him: “Teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us." But Jesus said: "Do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us". - Mark 9:38-40

Is Rev 5:11-14 Worship or Obeisance?
by JCISGOD98 ini asked a jw last week the following question, "is revelation 5:11-14 a worship act to the lamb or an act of obeisance?.
revelation 5:11-14 nwt states and i saw, and i heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: the lamb that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.
because it's an act of worship and it is not allow in your kingdom hall.

Good points. I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions. Equalize the volumes of the 2 parts; the commentary at the end is much louder. Sit still for a few seconds at the end instead of looking around for the camera controls right away, then just edit off the end. Windows movie maker is actually pretty good for both of these and it should have come with your OS (assuming you're using Windows).

How do you explain anointed people who are very humble and loving?
by bottleofwater inwhile some of you can bash the anointed as being attention getters:.
i knew someone in florida who was also of the anointed, supposedly.
she was very kind as well and very quiet and humble.

I don't think I've heard anyone bashing the anointed, as a group. It's the Governing Body, who is the target of most of the ire. They are the ones demanding worship, beating their fellow slaves (the 11k anointed around the world), making up extra-Biblical rules, etc. I knew a man who partook of the emblems and claimed anointed status (Who am I to say yea or nay?) and he was awesome; but he was old then and he's dead now.
From what I understand, the power grab occurred in the '70s, when the Society ceased allowing the congregations to be autonomous. They pulled all the elders who had been selected locally and put their own in place.
Now, all elders are chosen by the Society puppet C/Os and answerable back to Brooklyn for everything. No independent decisions can be made and Brooklyn is looked to as God himself. In my own case and many others, when elders can't figure out what to do, they write to Brooklyn and people who have never heard your side or met you make a decision without a hearing or a committee. I'm surprised the elders can ever do anything; it seems they can't wipe their asses without a letter rubber stamped by the Society

Would You Refer To Jehovah's Witnesses As A "Christian" Religion?
by minimus inthey regard themselves as "true christians".. do you view them as christians?.

There's no such thing as a "Christian" group. There could be a group of Christians, but I think we're all familiar with the saying: Belonging to a church makes you a Christian as much as being in a garage makes you a car. This applies to JWs, too. Even the apostles had Judas.
