I believe the organization would insist that he end associating with the girlfriend, go back to his wife and ask for her forgiveness. Why the wife wants him back however is surprising.

Adultery, Divorce, Remarry
by azl0058 inmy brother (who is a witness) has been married for 8 years.
he and his wife (also a witness) got married young, but he never really tried in the marriage, but she also lost his trust early on.
he says that it was his fault though because he pushed her away.. anyways, he met this new girl (not a witness) and told his wife that he wanted to separate.

Has anyone contested a Will and WON????
by cha ching inmy jw mom just died last week, about 6 1/2 months after my non jw dad died (dehydration, starvation, imo) i was the executor of that will.
before a month had passed of his death, my dad & mom's will was changed.
i didn't know until she died.

If the WTS helped make the will, they would be the main if not the sole beneficiary. You do not say if you are in the will. If so consider yourself fortunate. If not, and it is a notarized document, don't bother trying to contest it unless it was clear that your mom was incompetent at the time the new will was made.
Executors are usually given liberty to pay themselves for services rendered and often take between 3-5 percent of the estate. They are also often given liberty to distribute movables as desired unless recipients are specified in the will and sell or liquidate immovables which become part of the estate funds.
Your sister, if executor, has full rights to handle the estate within the parameters that wills in your state provide. My suggestion is to work with her unless she does something that represents a breach of her mandate as executor.
BTW, if you are named as a beneficiary in the will, the executor is required to provide you with a copy thereof. If not, you are not entitled to anything. Good luck.

Jesus-------What were you thinking!
by pistolpete inmost of the sermon on the mount, matthew 5-7 - is bizarre, vague or barbaric.
it actually smacks stupidity and not wisdom..
if you lust after a woman, you’ve committed adultery (thought crime) .

Pete, your rant is all over the place and yet you did not answer my question. Again, what kind of a world would we live in if people repented of such "thought crimes" as you put it, and sought to fulfill the teachings of Jesus in the sermon on the mount?

What Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Like Nowadays?
by minimus ini’ve been gone a long time.
after my mother passed away a few years ago, i pretty much lost most contact with the witnesses.
a couple that were family friends for many years stopped checking on me to say hello.

I find that JWs are now more self protecting, unwilling to debate or interested in challenges to their faith. They run rather than engage if you are not a sheep-like one.

I have been out of the cult for 10 years now! What is their latest stance on Vaccines or the Covid-19 Vac? Any insiders?
by Intel ini used to be very active on this board - 14 years ago (redpill2006...still remember blondie, barbara and many others).
then left the cult for good 10 years ago (ex-bethelite, ex-elder).
today, after so many years, i decided to come back because there is an issue that is nagging in my mind.

Welcome back Intel. I believe the ban on vaccinations ended in the 50s and became a conscience matter thereafter. Since it is not mandatory at this point in time to get vaccinated I can't see there being an issue for Witnesses.
However, I've heard that the development of the vaccine involved using aborted fetal cells (not sure if this is the case) but if so there could be moral issues raised.

The law couldn't touch a man for hatred or lust. Jesus' teachings go beyond the law. Lust, greed, hatred are indeed evil or sinful thoughts. It seems that Jesus' God is not only concerned with acts of murder, gluttony and adultery but also with what prompts them. Very wise indeed.
Think about it. What kind of a world would we live in if people repented of such "thought crimes" as you put it, and sought to fulfill the teachings of Jesus here? And please note, this is not a rhetorical question

Not sure where I picked this up
"New-Old Light on Alternative Military Service
FACT 1: The Watchtower sanctioned both military service and alternative military service under Charles Russell.
FACT 2: Under subsequent leadership the Watchtower condemned both military service and alternative military service for 60 years.
These Bible rules were enforced under threat of disfellowship.
Thousands of JWs went to prison because they refused both military service and
alternative service.
FACT 3: a proposal to change the Society’s position on alternative service to relieve the suffering of the brethren and their families was made in 1978.
But a two-thirds majority vote was not attained…presumably Jehovah hadn’t yet
communicated a change of mind on the matter yet. So the issue was shelved and
the brothers continued to languish in prison.
FACT 4: Then Jehovah God finally sent the new-old light to Watchtower headquarters:
”What, though, if the State requires a Christian for a period of time to perform civilian service that is a part of national service under a civilian administration? Here again, Christians must make their own decisions based on an informed conscience. What if the Christian's honest answers to such questions leads him to conclude that the national civilian service is a "good work" that he can perform in obedience to the authorities? This is his decision before Jehovah. Appointed elders and others should fully respect the conscience of the brother and continue to regard him as a Christian in good standing. “ The Watchtower 1996 May 1 p. 20.
Are JWs with overly strict consciences responsible for their own imprisonment over alternative military service? The WTS explains away those terrible feelings of having sufferedv needlessly:
“In the past, some Witnesses have suffered for refusing to share in an activity that their conscience now might permit. For example, this might have been their choice years ago as to certain types of civilian service. A brother might now feel that he could conscientiously perform such without overstepping his Christian neutrality regarding the present system of things.
Was it unrighteous on Jehovah's part to allow him to suffer for rejecting what he might do without consequences... What reason could anyone have to regret having followed his conscience in taking a firm stand for Jehovah? By loyally upholding Christian principles as they understood them or by responding to prodding of conscience they proved worthy of Jehovah's friendship. Certainly, it is wise to avoid a course that would disturb one's conscience...
In modern times, there have been some Witnesses who were very strict in their view of what they would or would not do. For that reason they suffered more than others. Later, increased knowledge helped them to expand their view of matters. But they have no reason to regret having earlier acted in harmony with their conscience even when this possibly brought extra suffering. It truly is commendable that they demonstrated their willingness to suffer in faithfulness to Jehovah... “
(The Watchtower 1998 August 15 p. 17 Underlining added)Was it the fault of their consciences or was it rather the fault of an organization that demanded strict obedience to all of its extra-biblical ever-changing “truths”?
"...there cannot even be coexistent tendencies or schools of thought within the Christian organization." (WT 1983 September 15, p.18)
Approved association with Jehovah's Witnesses requires accepting the entire range of the true teachings of the Bible, including those Scriptural beliefs that are unique to Jehovah's Witnesses. (WT 1986 April 1, p. 31)
