Did Jesus have a Y chromosome?
by Fisherman ineven in jesus’s day, humans had chromosomes.
and so did jesus —because he was human.
so let’s say jesus took a dna test, his mitochondrial dna would go back to eve but interestingly jc also would inherit dna from sinful adam on his mother’s side because his mother mary passed on to jc dna from both adam and eve.

faithful and discreet slave appointed in 1919?
by enoughisenough in12 when did jesus appoint the faithful slave over his domestics?
to answer that, we need to go back to 1914—the beginning of the harvest season.
as we learned earlier, at that time many groups claimed to be christian.

Regardless of how you view the Bible, eternal pleasure is written therein as the destiny for the saints.

@Smiles
I would say it is biblical without the writhing.
Psalm 16:11 KJV — Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
For the joy that was set before Him Jesus forewent pleasure and endured the cross that He might win our hearts and reconcile us to the Father. Winning us was His ultimate pleasure and victory.

Yup.. read all about it in my book, Eternal Torment-Image and Reality, available at Amazon Books. I go through all 65 Sheol, 11 Hades and 12 Gehenna passages in the Bible looking for eternal torment. Then I go through every passage that deals with final punishment in the entire Bible again searching for eternal torment.
We end uo looking extensively at Luke 16:19-31 and Revelation 20:10; the first used to support temporary torment after death and the latter, endless torment of the devil, the beast and the false prophet.
As all good Jehovah's Witnesses know, there is not one verse that says the soul is immortal or that a single human being will be writhing in endless pain to the glory of God.

Tried to warn another mum
by DarleneGatus inthe thing that broke me was that i tried to warn another mum in the congregation about a brother who was inappropriate with my son, which upset me, and so i called her to talk about it since we both knew him and i had also seen him pin her daughter down on the sofa and slap the girl's bottom.
i called it inappropriate, but i never accused him of anything beyond that.. unfortunately, word got back to him and i had to go in front of 3 elders, including the brother who i felt had been inappropriate.
because they came down on me for trying to stop the behavior, and not on him for being the cause of upset, i felt very hurt and started questioning more things.

Latest jw broadcast referring to allegations of protecting pedophiles
by jonahstourguide inhi folks.. i put this in abuse as i thought it relevant.. a physically in mentally out friend that considers our friendship greater than religion told me that on the latest broadcast steven lett alluded to satans voice being behind people that claim the organisation protects pedophiles.. my friend then went on to say they must be in damage control.. he added, but that is correct, they are hiding their internal records.
is not that construed as protecting the accused?.
if i get the inclination i may post a snippet of what was actually said.. sadly my friend is trying to protect his family relationships and so goes along with the charade.. his situation weighs on me but, as many of you here know, it can be a difficult road to travel.. jtg.

Great quotation Enough. All of the Watchtower Society's unique teachings including their self-serving eschatology is entirely fictional as well as unscriptural.
I would say the most important thing Russell got right was his stand against both immortality of the soul and related eternal torment teaching.

Did the Watchtower Society ban Vaccinations and Organ Transplants?
by Vanderhoven7 inan avid wts supporter writes:.
re: vaccinations: vaccinations have never been banned.
if they were, then no representative of the wts would have been allowed to travel overseas when vaccines were compulsory around 1920 when vaccines was regularly in the news, there was both positive and negative information printed in the golden age (forerunner of the awake) but not from the staff writers, but from out side sources of article by medical doctors at the time and others that responded to those articles.. re: organ transplants: organ transplants were never forbidden by the society.

Here is an email I received this morning on the subject from our dyed in the wool JW apologist.
"Are you aware that in the Golden Age magazines, that many of the article that were published were actually letters sent in. The web site where you got the above in formation from 1921 , did that tell you that there were positive articles for vaccinations in the sane issue? Were you informed that the negative article that you sited was a contributed article by a reader? It was that readers opinions?
Did the web site tell you that in the 1931article the words “"Vaccination is a direct violation of the everlasting covenant that God made with Noah after the flood." were not from the Golden Age staff but from a contributed article from a reader.
Were you informed about the 1939 article that it quoted from various doctors and medical sources of the day and explained the then process of how vaccinations were made? That the picture was from another source?
I have the full articles.
At no time were vaccinations banned."
I wrote back
Are you saying that the articles and pics in the Golden Age did not reflect Watchtower sentiments?
