That's good news. I assume you have been given Power of Attorney and mandate and that you are in her will. I am sure the elders will say that they have discussed things with her and her desire is to give her money to the org. Has she been declared incompetent? Anyway, I believe that in all likelihood what her will says will stand. If you are going to meet with them as planned, it is smart that you have arranged for your lawyer to be there. If you tell them this in advance, they may cancel the meeting themselves.

i was under the impression that it was going to be a short war, that russia’s military would indeed subdue ukraine’s forces quickly but that is not happening.

seems that russia’s military power is much less than it’s reputed to be.

no guess how it will all end..

Another congregation closed

15 years ago there were 5 congregations now there is only one and it is still struggling.

congregations closing their doors doesn’t mean business is good.

it looks like this last one to fold had no young witnesses, they either left the religion or moved.

his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .

no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

It's true that JWs do not have a monopoly on anger and rudeness.

But actually, I haven't run into any Catholics or born-agains who are angry and rude. And actually I find just about everyone on this forum to be rather congenial. I haven't seen many labeled liars, or hate mongers or children of the devil around here.

But this is definitely not the case with the JWs I am interacting with on Quara.

Bullied At School

just curious about the rest of you.

i was bullied quite badly throughout my school years because of being a witness and not participating in religious holidays, sporting celebrations, assembly (worship), and the like.. it was mostly from other pupils but there were a couple of teachers who definitely treated me badly.

that was back when uk teachers still caned pupils or were allowed to hurl the heavy wooden blackboard duster across the room at them.... i still have ptsd flashbacks on some of those events even after 50 years!

A JW told me that as a child entering school, he would look for the biggest kid in the class and make friends with him. It served him well all through elementary school.
