Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses won't carry guns, but they will quickly call on those who do to come to their rescue.

christopher chavez was a 22 year old ministerial servant and a born-in son of an jw elder.
after a thursday night meeting and a quick bite to eat afterwards with friends at a local restaurant, he was kidnapped, taken to a gas station and forced to drive his killers around for hours while they were in the back seat.

There was nothing salvific about believing in 1874, nor is there anything salvific about believing in 1914.
What is salvific is knowing the Father and the Son through repentance and faith.
People were saved and sanctified long before Watchtower came up with 1874 and 1914.
Neither do we serve God by believing in a date.

Luke 21:24,Rev 12:7-10,Dan 4:25 are all referring to the year 1914, the year Jesus began ruling as king—as JW see it and JW are required to agree with the belief. If you don’t, you are not a JW and if you are not a JW you are not a Christian.
Poor Charlie Russell was not a Christian then since he believed Christ began ruling in 1878.
Actually these verses teach that you can't be a Christian if you don't believe Christ's invisible presence began in 1934.
So all JWs are not Christians.
Unfortunately, only those who believe in 1934 will survive Armageddon.
There is no zero AD year and that year needed to be factored in which at first they didn’t realize it.
Yes and that's why 606 was changed to 607 to maintain the erroneous 1914 date.

What Bible verse makes you say dates are important for Christians to believe? I'm not sure but I think it was 606 that was changed to 607 because of the zero year to maintain the 1914 date. They pulled 1918 and 1919 and 1925 out of their hats and later they changed the date of the first resurrection from 1888 to 1918 and then to sometime before 1935 but still possibly 1918.
It is wrong to conclude that Jehovah's Witnesses believe the same things. They can differ on things the WTS decides are conscience matters. So why not make these dates conscience matters as well and only insist on uniformity when it comes to essential matters.
BTW I'd like your reaction to the AZ video I posted this morning.

The faithful steward mystery - solved at last!
by BoogerMan inw13 7/15 p. 20 “who really is the faithful and discreet slave?” revealed it was a bunch of guys in new york, back in 1919.. the apostle paul must have been un-inspired when he wrote this back in the 1st century:.
(1 corinthians 4:1, 2) “a man should regard us [all christians/paul, apollos & peter?
] as attendants of christ and stewards of god’s sacred secrets.

Jesus chose his Faithful Slave in 1919 according to scripture. Christians down through the centuries were wondering when the Faithful Slave would be selected and who it would be. Many false guesses were made. Finally in 2012 the Governing Body realized the fact that it was them and that all their presidents and directors since 1919 were also selected and given the unique ability to understand the scriptures and the mandate to teach Bible truths to mankind.
It's all in the Bible so everyone should be able to recognize the Faithful Slave and if they do not, they will be destroyed at Armageddon whether they believe in the Bible and in Jesus or not. The critical fact in salvation is recognizing the Faithful Slave and following His directions even when they make no sense. Eternal life depends on it.

Hi Ding
We know that 1874, 1914, 1919 have nothing you do with repentance and faith in Jesus Christ and therefore nothing to do with salvation and sanctification.
Witnesses put an organization's and it's interpretations between man and God and write these absurdities into the gospel formula and make them requirements for Christian baptism.
Wrong gospel, wrong Jesus

Salvation and baptism have nothing to do with dates. Russell claimed that you couldn't be a dedicated Christian if you didn't believe in 1874. And 1874 was taught till about 1930. Then Rutherford changed the critical date so that now you will not qualify for baptism if you don't believe in 1914.
Can a person be saved and sanctified if they only had the Bible to go on and never heard of Russell or Rutherford and 1874 or 1914 or an organization with headquarters in Warwick New York?

The scriptures are the authority. They tell you not to put your trust in men. The Apostles were directly appointed by Christ to lay the foundation for faith by believing in their word.
Your trust is in men and their word and that is why you are not saved, you are not a child of God, you do not know or have a relationship with Jesus Christ as all New Testament Christians did.
Your faith is in the interpretations of men that contradict the clear salvation teachings of the Apostles and substitute a potential survival message in its place.
You have nothing but the empty promises of men who give you a false hope of earning your salvation. And there is no joy or abundance in that.

Fisherman,
Just because other groups add their own requirements for baptism does not give Jehovah's Witnesses the right to add to the gospel and make Extra-biblical dates and loyalty to men requirements for baptism.
Your trust is in men and their interpretations rather than the clear gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. And that is why you do not know Jesus Christ. And that is why He is not your Saviour. And that is why you cannot call yourself a child of God.

Fisherman,
The gospel and the requirements for Christian baptism are not a matter of interpretation.
