<<Korah, Dathan and Abiram>>
Excellent and cryptic answer Slim. And there was Noah as well.
But what was God's crucial single visible organization from 300 AD to 1800 AD i.e., before Russell came on the scene?
why is it important to some that god only have one visible organization to represent him on earth?
why is it important to jehovah's witnesses that people recognize their organization as such?
what makes a witness more moral or righteous or save-worthy if they accept that it is his one and only organization?

Can't people love God and Christ and live holy lives without believing a particular organization is the only one having Jehovah's approval?
how do you get out of watchtower?
am i supposed to write letter to bethel or local congregation telling them i don't want to be a jw anymore?
how are the steps.
"But if you ever want to come back…"
Yes, you may want to come back so family members will talk to you again...but not necessarily because you believe in the religion.

Well, if you are ready to close this chapter of your life, I would talk to your mother first and let her know you feelings and plans. Then I would write a disassociation letter saying you choose not to be a Jehovah's Witness and you want nothing to do with the organization from this day forward including visits from elders.
If elders call, tell them to read and follow the directions in your disassociation letter. There is nothing to discuss.
Congratulations by the way!

Hello,
Got family members in?
If so, you must count the cost of submitting a letter of disassociation.

The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses are experts at judging people. They have determined that all of the churches of Christendom are filled with non Christians.
Of the millions of martyrs who were slaughtered before the 20th century, they have concluded that less than 145,000 were real Christians. The others were merely professed Christians.
The self-declared Faithful Slave has similarly judged that of those billions living when Armageddon strikes, 99.9% of them will be annihilatied.
How would they know any of this?

"Doesn't the Governing Body judge peoples destiny based on their relationship to them?"
Earnest: No.
Where does the GB stipulate that ex-Jehovah Witnesses who are honest-hearted apostates to Jehovah's organization may survive Armageddon?
Here to the contrary
The other sheep should never forget that their salvation depends on their active support of Christ's anointed "brothers" still on earth. WT March 15, 2003 p.25
"The
Scriptures strongly support the conclusion that at Armageddon Jehovah
will destroy the peoples of the earth, saving only those who obey his
commandments to stand by his organization."

Witnesses - Proclaimers of God's Kingdom, 1993, p. 170)

@Earnest,
Doesn’t the Governing Body judge peoples destiny based on their relationship to them? Do they consider that apostates may have good hearts? Might they be saved and survive Armageddon and be honored by Christ?

I believe JWs have slways held out hope of a resurrection for just about everyone who died before the Great Tribulation....but only JWs after the GT commences...with few exceptions.
