Observations/Questions from forum newbie
by Obrien ini joined about 5 days ago and have some observations/questions.. does anyone notice the profile update doesn't seem to work?
i like reading some of the profiles, most accounts don't have them and maybe that's because the tool doesn't function anymore?.
also i've been noticing a diverse number of subjects which made me think of the categories of people on here.

What you think consequences gonna be for watchtower if they lose the court appeal in Norway?
by Hellothere inpersonally i think they gonna realise god's not backing org.
that idea gonna get even more established in their minds.
i think the real selling of kingdom hall gonna start then.

Meh, but I won't get my way because too.many people have the wrong collectivist mindset.
So, if the WT loses, they have a choice : make an exception in Norway to get the government money (that is, be a slave to your master, the ones that pay you), or stick with it and just dump the offset on the lower level JWs by asking and guilting then into paying more donations. Either way the money will be ok.
But if they choose option 1, it will discredit the religion as a whole, and they have done that sort of thing in the past.
So I'm hoping for that.

You know
Its all about avoiding taxes with these guys. They will try their damnedest to avoid taxes. Not to derail the conversation too much, but I sure try my damnedest to avoid taxes. I think everyone should - for any reason. The less money going to the government the better.
Now, the sword has two edges - I want to see as little money flowing OUT of the government as possible too. Subsidies to religion as well as business is a bad idea. I don't think JWs should get a dime. Also any other religion. Also large corporations. Also small corporations.
Norway should just stop subsidies to religion in general. There - case is moot.

If he's in Singapore, not much the FBI can do. If he's in the USA, then this is all a fabrication - which ultimately the FBI won't do anything.
If he's a troll, then we've answered the thread's question : Yes, he's drifted too far.
If the stories are true: Yep, he's drifted too far..

For the Disillusioned
by no-zombie ina problem for all who come to realize that our faith is just another manmade religion, is that we start questioning everything we've previously believed.
where ultimately its possible to spiral down past believing in the bible, to the point of questioning god's actual existence.however while some may be happy to think of themselves now as atheists or agnostics (which i doubt that most really are, as living with the full mental and emotional consequences of being one is a lot harder than most understand), i don't think it is necessary to abandon being a spiritual person.
while others might like the idea of drifting into a modern animistic philosophy (which rather conveniently excludes personal accountability), the keeping of the core teachings of jesus has historically proven to give many people a balanced and practical moral code to live by.but what is meant by the term: 'the core teachings of jesus'?interestingly many thinkers from the enlightenment period of the late 1700s, had similar a question.

Charles Taze Russell & His Secret Mission To S. California That Killed Him
by West70 inthe last 5 months of charles taze russell's life was quite hectic, and according to reports in the watch tower magazine, russell's health was declining throughout.
in september, 1916, russell went on a convention train tour which lasted nearly the entire month.
this train tour included stops in several southern california locations around the 8th through the 12th.

Anyone have any idea what "business propositions" in southern California were so significant that Russell could not have handled such by letter or telegraph?
Yes. In those days the official offices of The Kerfuffles, the secret organization that rules the world, were in California. Several WT presidents and GB members have made a bid for a seat. Not all make it. Depending on what they see or learn during the interview, they may need to be terminated.
BUT the fact C.T. Russell had NO official autopsy indicates murder CANNOT remain discounted. I find the fact the time, from Russell's death to burial, means only one thing: suspicious death
Exactly.
