I know some old-timer JWs in Spanish congos that still use the phrase "Nuevo Orden Mundial" (New World Order)... they can't seem to get this old phrase out of their system for some reason... but they probably have no idea that this has roots in Freemasonry...

Watchtower re "The New World Order"
by Nambo innow the watchtower is so named for they keep on the watch right?.
for those of you still in, or that still see the mags, have they ever once even mentioned the "new world order", or one world government or even globalisation?.
ive been on a forum or two where the average joe, who doesnt even belive in, or are not even aware of god, the bible and revelation, are fully aware of the push towards globalisation and a single world government, where you wont be able to buy or sell unless you accept thier chip, of the f.e.m.a.

CO Visits... Are elders honest about the TRUE state of the congregation?
by Alfred inthis question is really for elders or ex-elders (or ministerial servants in the know).... did you find that some elders would tend to "white-wash" the true state of the congregation when they had their sit-down with the co every 6 months?.
did some elders feel pressure to hide certain things from a co for fear of being "removed" from the boe?.
(judging by the "fakeness" that some elders displayed during co visits, i have to wonder whether they were really worried about being removed for not seeking out inactives or encouraging more participation during the wt study, book study or fs...).

With all the bethel closures where are they going to find replacement GBs or writers etc ?
by mP inanother post gives the stats that about 20 bethels have closed over the last 2 years.
lets assume that this continues at half the rate in another 10 years there will be few or a dozen bethels left.
if theres no bethel in spain, portugal, france, italy and they all go thru germany what chance does that give jws in those lands to ever get a chance at the big bethel in germany ?

I guess the CO's and DO's currently being "groomed" for the future Governing Body at the NEW Watchtower Headquarters (in Warwick, New York) are part of the THIRD OVERLAPPING GENERATION?

30-minute Public Talk = More association ???
by Alfred init's been nearly 5 years since the letter was read at the end of the service meeting.
the society would lovingly decrease the public talk to a brief 30 minutes, eliminating the 15-minute doom-and-gloom introduction and thereby resulting in lower heating and air-conditioning costs allowing for more "association" after the meeting.... for those who still go to meetings... do you find that there is any more association with the 30-min public talk when compared to the former 45-min public talk?.
please share your observations.. thanks!.

One time I was forced to stay behind (i think an elder wanted me to look at the back-up generator... can't remember)... anyways, I thought I was the only one who ran for the exit right after the closing prayer... turns out that everyone else did too, only they allowed about 3 to 5 minutes so it wouldn't look so obvious..
Thanks to everyone for sharing!

Credit Card Donation terminals are currently being installed in JWs Assembly Halls...
by AndersonsInfo ini received the following email from a former jw that i thought to share.
note: i retyped the boe letter that was sent from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses to all congregations in the us.
the letter is authentic.

I'm sure the Society's "Geek Squad" has already figured out an easy way to identify the high-end and low-end contributors. High-end contributors ($1,000+ per year) with at least 10 hours per month in Field Circus will get "special" privileges like the sound booth at assemblies. Low-end contributors will simply get "marked" (regardless of Field Circus hours).
They have this sh*t figured out, don't they?

"...baptizing them in the name of the Father and of Watchtower Society and of the holy spirit "
by irondork inif baptism is really a symbol of one's dedication to god, as the wts agrees it is, then why would someone who was baptized years earlier need to be re-baptized after studying with jehovah's witnesses?
in discussing the two questions asked of baptismal candidates, the watchtower, april 1, 2006, page 22 par 4 says:.
therefore, those who qualify for baptism have usually studied the bible for months or even a year or two, so that their decision is neither hasty nor ill-informed.

Less literature for Field Service means more Bible usage...
by Alfred ini recently asked my jw elder brother (who thinks i'm just "inactive") what he makes of the reduction in pages of the wt & awake rags.... his response was something like:.
well this was something that has been discussed for a long time.
the society feels that the brothers need to start using the bible more in field service so they are slowly reducing the pages of the literature to encourage the brothers to read the bible more and not depend so much on the literature.

They're doing this because they know the Great Tribulation is just around the corner and we may not be able to use our literature as freely as in the past.
I'm not going to bore you with the discussion that followed... suffice to say that my reaction to all of this was:
WTF???
