Judge Rutherford and his wife were separated
by VM44 init is well know today that judge rutherford and his wife lived apart from each other for most of the time he was president of the watchtower bible and tract society.. the judge's main residences were at brooklyn bethel and the house beth sarim in san diego, california.. mary rutherford, his wife, lived in the city monrovia which is in the los angeles area and is about 125 miles from beth sarim.. there are no reports that judge rutherford was seen with his wife during the 20 years he was in control of the watchtower.
not a single report of him visiting monrovia!.
being away from one's wife for over 22 years certainly satisfys the definition of one being separated from one's wife.. the sataurday evening post's article "armageddon, inc" stated that there was a "mrs. rutherford" but that no one was saying anything at all about her.

Terribly interesting topic, I am particularly interested in the "Knorr" remark. Where did Audrey state it? I am so intrigued.
I am so impressed with the research that some of you are able to do. I will start a new thread on this, perhaps it will catch the attention of someone who can point me in the right direction.

Who did Jehovah send as his representative?
by wannabe inwho did jehovah send as his representative?.
is there anyone today, who can make a legitimate claim to being followers of the truth?
most of the main-line religions of this world all vie for special appointments, and will tell us that they are jehovah's representative organization.

Mind Control in the Watchtower
by SYN inintroduction .
having been a witness for many, many years, about 15 to be exact, i just thought i'd explain a few things for new-comers to this site about what it's like to be a "dub".
"dub" is just a convenient shorthand for "jehovah's witness", and is not meant to be derogatory, but i think i will stick to calling them witnesses here for the sake of people visiting during the furore upon whose brink we are sitting.. much of those early years i don't really remember.

I hope someone comes up with the answer to this question. I have heard the same thing many times but not actually read it, I don't think. That doesn't mean it's not out there. I've never "properly" kept up my required reading.

NEED HELP ASAP
by BoomTown inmy wife is bitter towards the organization right now and is finally willing to talk about flaws without her shutting down.
what is the easiest way to prove the witnesses don't have the "the single truth" of the bible?.
today i said to her, "you are probably worried about leaving because you think "what if they are right and armageddon comes.

"The biggest worry of the GB isn't apostate voices, it's you listening to your own voice. Ultimately, what she sees, and what she is willing to admit to herself, is the key to her own exit." ATJeff has it right I think.
I began and ended the road to apostacy in our own publications. The organization condemns itself if you slow down enough to think about it.
Another poster said (I don't remember who, it was on another thread) that if Charles Taze Russell were resurrected today, he'd be disfellowshipped for apostacy in fifteen minutes. True. So you wonder, how can this be God's channel of communication?

Keep Your Family, Follow Ray Franz' Example. Think Smart!
by believingxjw ini feel terrible for those who have lost their families.
after reading coc, and after the shock of it, many of us hurried to leave and hurried to get our families out only to find ourselves on the outs with our loved ones.
but is that the best or only option?

Good advice, but I know how hard it is to stay quiet when you are burning with the indignation and disgust of the WT. There have been times in this past year, (and particularly in this past few weeks) where it takes everything I've got to keep my mouth shut. I want to scream. I am controlling myself well so far....I know a lot is at stake. It is so frustrating.
