We have the family drama going on right now. Whathappened's daughter wrote her a letter asking her to seek help. If any useful things come of this, we'll let you know. It has to be really hard. She does see you some, even a limited way?

I said I would do it and I just did, told my mom I want nothing to do with the org anymore
by Soldier77 ini would copy and paste my emails with my mom, but that would probably be too revealing.. anyway, i said in a post a while back that i was going to tell my mom i no longer want anything to do with the organization.
there have been a series of emails between the two of us lately and she was probing to see what was going on with me.
i haven't been out in fs in almost a year and i haven't been to a thursday night mtg in over 9 months.

Wow, just read your post. I can feel the stress. It sounds to me like there is a very good chance your mom will either go along with this, or let it drop. Either way, you'd be good.

Trying to Deal with MY Parental Guilt
by Lady Lee inthis is so hard for me.. my daughters don't want to talk about it.
they don't want to hear about the jws from their father.
and they don't want to hear about the jws from me.. they don't want to talk about it period.. they both seem to think i am stuck because i do talk about it.. the problem is partly that i can see just how stuck they are, especially the younger one who continues to fear armageddon is coming and has survival kits ready in her basement for when it comes - she showed me.

Kristy, I know you mean that in a helpful way, but really, I don't think you really understand her situation. She has said she's sorry to her kids, there is nothing more you can do. That IS owning it. Still, you wish you could unring the watchtower bell. I have the same kind of regret with my adult children. It is amazing that I taught them a religion which will now require they shun me. Ironic.

I would not, and did not, consider living with a man. I do think that you should see a great deal of passion just making out. With passion, you can be taught. (and because of that, I stayed married until he was good. Men need a lot of teaching, it just takes patience!) I think you know when you are a passionate person.

by TheLoveDoctor inwhat do you call this.
there is clearly a distinction between the inspired writings of the bible and other writings that, while manifesting a measure of the spirits direction and guidance, are not properly classed with the sacred scriptures.
as has been shown, in addition to the canonical books of the hebrew scriptures, there were other writings, such as official records concerning the kings of judah and israel, and these, in many cases, may have been drawn up by men devoted to god.

Do you dress your pets?
by Snoozy inas a child i had many cats and delighted in putting my doll clothes on them and rocking them in the rocking chair..i would even make a tent on my mom's bed and put them in it like they were in a cave..i had a great imigination... they would tolerate it for a while and then decide the fun was over..picky cats.... so if you have animals do you dress them up now?
or did you or your kids dress them up?
they looked so cute!.

My dog thought he look undignified even in the bandana that Petsmart put on after his bath. We discussed it, and I respect his decision!

Had I ever known when I was young what you already know, how my life, and the lives of my children and grandchildren would be different. Please, don't get baptized. Get out and stay out while you can. Once you get in far enough, there will be no respectable way to leave and not be at least partially shunned. Go.

You ever go through extended moments where nothing satisfies you, to the point you wouldn't mind dying?
by miseryloveselders indon't get me wrong, this isn't a call for help or anything like that.
i'm not about to do anything stupid, just feeling a little down and exhausted tonight.
i feel defeated, even though i don't feel as if i'm battling anything.

Although I agree with the ideas of getting exercise, talking to a therapist, etc. I want you to see a doctor. A real psychiatrist. What is the big deal with seeing a professional who deals with this all day every day? One in four people will suffer a major clinical depression at sometime in their life, and there is no good reason to "tough it out". Some who try that, do take "the only way out". Clinical depressions can be successfully treated with medication, and given the right ones at the correct dosage, you will fell much better in several weeks. I have much experience with this kind of problem, and you must look at it in the same way as any other chemistry problem in the body. The brain is an organ, just like the liver or the thyroid, etc. Those organs sometimes malfunction, as any one of our organs can, and treatment is necessary. Taking medication for depression, or a more serious disorder is really no different than taking insulin for diabetes. If you need it, then take it! It amazes me that people so frequently think that these conditions are treated with recommendations like "get out and see a movie" kind of things.
I agree that mild depressions can be managed with diet, exercise, talking with someone who cares, etc. etc. but I have ready many of your posts, and frankly, you seems to be suffering from more than a mild to moderate depression. Please, please, get some help.
