Just to update you all that we finally fly out to Australia from the UK on the 13th. Me and Sleeping Beauty are getting out of the sinking ship that is the UK!

Will land in Sydney on the 15th so will update you all once we get settled in. I have a job with a Communications company ( Motorola ) so we should be ok once we find a long term rental. Not an easy move with 4 kids in tow so wish us luck.

Take care all my friends in the UK and we will be back to visit before you know it ! Cantleave throws a good party !

well after 3 crap jobs here in the uk i have secured 2 job offers in 2 days from australia !

one in queensland and the other in nsw hunter valley.. wage is better in nsw and relocation cost's/flights covered etc.. will be on 100k aud as a senior radio engineer for the state emergency service radio upgrade by motorola tetra/p25 for the fire and rescue service.. .

i have been working on this for over 12 months as some of you know, we have a 457 visa sposored by the employer and will be able to get pr after 2 years.

Thanks guys for all your support, we need to go now as I will be too old soon to make the move. It's a massive change for us but we are a close family unit, I think as the UK is finished so to speak so we had better get off the sinking ship now. I hope you have seen me and sleeping beauty on Nuggets birthday post, 2 of my kids were on their also, we had a fab time at cantleaves place..

We leave the UK for Australia sometime late Sept 2012. Me/sleeping beauty and he kids carn't wait and we have already found houses with pools close to the shopping malls and beaches etc..

Sentencing 40-year-old Paul Wood, formerly of Sudbury, Judge David Goodin said that not surprisingly the impact of the offences on his two victims was still affecting them.

During a trial last year Ipswich Crown Court heard that Wood had indecently touched the girls’ breasts while play-fighting with them.

One of the victims also claimed that further incidents had taken place in Wood’s car when he had got her to touch him indecently over his clothing and had touched her over her clothing

The same victim also claimed that Wood had touched her intimately on one occasion under her clothing and said he had bought her underwear he wanted her to wear.

The court heard that Wood had asked the other victim to put on his wife’s underwear after saying she no longer wore it.

The victims made allegations to the police after hearing in 2009 that Wood was taking up a role with Jehovah’s Witnesses in another part of the country that would have brought him into contact with young women.

The court heard that in 2000 the victims told Jehovah’s Witness elders in west Suffolk about what Wood had allegedly done to them but it was left to the girls to decide if they wanted to go to the police.

Andrew Thompson, prosecuting, said that as the girls did not want to go to the police nothing was done then.

Wood, who now lives in Derbyshire, was found guilty by majority verdicts of 10-2 of nine offences of indecent assault on two schoolgirls when they were aged between eight and 15. He was found not guilty of raping a third alleged victim, aged 17.

Wood denied a total of 17 offences of indecent assault, three offences of rape and one of attempted rape.

After returning guilty verdicts on the nine offences of indecent assault and a not-guilty verdict on one rape charge, the jury was discharged from returning verdicts on the remaining charges.

At yesterday’s sentencing hearing Mr Thompson offered no evidence on those charges and Judge Goodin directed not-guilty verdicts should be entered on the court record.

Wood was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and was made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order restricting his future contact with children under 18.

Steven Dyble, for Wood,

said his client had not had any previous convictions for sexual offences and had not committed any further offences in the last 14 years.

He said Wood was aged between 20 and 26 at the time of the offences and claimed he had been wrongly convicted

i've only recently joined but i've been lurking for well over a year.

i'll just start with a bit of my story so you'll have a better idea on were i'm coming from, i've read that much of most of your posts that i feel i already know you all anyway lol.. i'm 32 years old now and for most of my life i've had jw's around me at times, my mom used to study on and off with them all through my child hood alough she never took the plunge i'm not sure why because even to this day she say's she holds the same beliefs but somethings held her back so there's doubt somewhere!.

anyway, having had the magazines around me for most my life i'd read them from time to time,but, when i reached about 17 years old i discovered nightclubs, alcohol and, well you know the rest ;-).. fast forward to my early 20's and i'd had a failed attempt at setting up my own business, my parents had split up after 25 years together and long story short i had a nervous breakdown.

You have made the best choice and you know it ! If the elder phones or calls at the door make it clear you respect his beliefs but you are no longer interested in the mind games. Tell him/them to mark you as a do not call on their records. I live in the UK and Sleeping Beauty and I have saved our 4 kids from a life in the cancer. I was a born in 44 years and I got hold of Sleeping beauty 21 years ago when I charmed her with my bookbag

We are all out in our 3rd year of exit and never been happier. If you are in the UK or Australia PM me as I am going to Perth in the next few weeks for a interview for a job with Motorola.
