  You are absolutely incorrect in this. The Arabs blocked the Suez canal and wouldn't allow shipping into or out of Israel. Israel viewed this as an act of war and completely waxed the asses of the Arabs in the 6 days war of 1967.

  The US didn't get involved militarily. They didn't have to. Israel did have and still does have plenty of military power to obliterate every Arab nation if they wanted to.

  The Palestinians are basically refugees who no other nations would take in. Jordan kicked them out, and Egypt wouldn't take them in. The unfortunate thing is that the Palestinians are basically pawns for the Arab nations to use to continually pester and kill Israelis.

  the thread started by someone else that was asking about "local needs" talks that are given and the people who need to hear them are never there, got me to thinking.. i remember an elder giving a talk on local needs on "praising jehovah with your valuable things.

  " .......this was the same brother who everyone in the hall knew had just bought a new lincoln town car.

  his wife was a regular pioneer, and he would not allow the car do be driven out in service.

  At one point he said the dopiest thing I've ever heard, he said . . ."$7000 in two years! . . . I could have saved that on my own!

  You guessed it . . . a brother who remained unidentified was heard to say from the back . . . "Well why didn't you then?"

  LOL......I wish I could have been there. What was the reaction from the rest of the cong? Was there laughter, a collective gasp, or what?

  I remember an elder giving a talk on local needs on "Praising Jehovah with Your Valuable Things." .......This was the same brother who everyone in the hall knew had just bought a new Lincoln Town Car. His wife was a regular pioneer, and he would not allow the car do be driven out in service. She was only allowed to drive their older car in F.S. This congregation was relatively poor, and he was not wealthy, but was better off than most in the congregation.

  Another elder in a hall I attended gave a talk about lending money and paying back loans especially among brothers..........He was indicted within a year for swindling people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in an investment scheme. He ended up going to prison. He was doing this while giving talks to the rest of us about not taking advantage of one another, and paying back what is owed. BTW- many of his victims were elderly witnesses. Oddly enough, the P.O. was able to get his money back in the nick of time, just before he was DF'd and the police arrested him.

  I have discovered an interesting formula that can be used to determine how much JWN changes. it is: x(y+b)^e(t)

  where X is the total number of posts which is right now approximately 1046(20) or 20,920; y is the number of members which is approximately 14,184; b is representative of the number of years we are removed from 1914, which is now 97; e is the algegraic expression of infinity or continuous change; and t is the time of day in hours, which at the moment is 9.51 eastern standard time.

  Therefore, we have the formula (at the moment) of 20,920(14,184 + 97)^e(9.51)

  which equals 4.031445771 X 10^12

  If anyone has a better formula, please let me know.
