OH, I just thought of something else.......The WTBTS claims that the FDS has been on earth since the 1st century. However, the GB has only been around since about 1970 (I'm not sure of the date). Therefore, who was the GB before then?

With the "New Light" concerning the GB, How would JW's respond to this question?
by drewcoul ini wonder if the wt or jw's in general would consider paul to be a member of the "faithful and discreet slave.
he wrote a good deal of the christian greek scriptures.
surely he would be considered one who was "dispensing food at the proper time" would he not?.

I wonder if the WT or JW's in general would consider Paul to be a member of the "Faithful and Discreet Slave."
He wrote a good deal of the Christian Greek Scriptures. Surely he would be considered one who was "Dispensing food at the proper time" would he not?
However, he was clearly NOT a member of the GB, as the WT claims there was a GB in Jerusalem. Therefore, was Paul a member of the FDS? If not, why did he write so much of the Bible?
Just one of my thoughts on this new understanding. I would love to ask a JW this when they hear of the new understanding!

"Melchizedek" might mean, "My king is Jupiter" or "my God is Jupiter"...
by EndofMysteries ini just recently learned that in hebrew, zedek also means jupiter.
when did this happen is unknown.
and possibibly that the planet jupiter was responsible for some catastrophes and things happening on earth during that time.

jupiter: jah (god) (also: zeus) + petar (father)
I don't remember where i got the etymological research from, but
learning this made me open my eyes to the common origins of religious
traditions from ancient times through Christianity. I believe in God, I just understand
he has presented himself throughout history in different ways.

Fb status of a Young JW Mom. Sooo Sick!
by 3dogs1husband incan't believe that we made it through the whole assembly, **** wasn't feeling good last night, has a cold, was pretty cranky, then he seemed fine and minutes later im making a bowl with my hands for him to throw up in while we are sitting (the joys of parenthood) then into a plastic bag, then very quickly ran to the bathroom for even more throwing up, but suprisingly we stayed for the rest of the day.
trying to think of a response.
i am not "out" on fb soooo sick from this i wanna throw up myself...poor children!.

Maybe the kid was one of the few who paid attention and just couldn't take it anymore. I think I'd throw up too.

I am so sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed reading his posts and encouraging him when I could, although it wasn't often. I sympathized with his struggles as most of us here did because we could relate to his conflictions. He is going to be missed.
RIP, Eric.

"Millions Now Living Will Never Die"
by drewcoul ini understand that the judge's book "millions now living will never die" has undergone a slight of hand change of title to "millions now living may never die.".
where could i find the new title in print in any wt publication?
i do not have a wt library anymore, and would like to show my mom how they have changed the name of the book in their references to it..

ChristAlone: I read the JWFACTS link above, and it quotes the Jan 1, 1997 as saying the talk was titled: "Millions Now Living Will Never Die"
I would like to find something that refers to the book or talk as "May" never die. I can then show her proof of their revisionist history.

Good post. Great to see progress in your relationship with your dad!!! I am very happy for you both!
On a related note, I recently went to the funeral of an inactive JW. There were a number of people about my age (40) who I have known since we were teenagers in the same hall. There were, if I recall 8 of us there roughly the same age, and all baptized. Of the 8, all of us married witnesses. Of the 8 of us who married witnesses, 6 of us divorced our JW mate. Of the 6 who divorced our JW spouses, 5 divorced because the other JW spouse committed adultery. The other one had an affair of her own. The other two who are still married have faded with their spouses.
Its a shame that JWs frown so heavily on marriage counseling and therapy. Think of the families that would still be together if they would learn to understand themselves and work on their marriage.

I met Schroeder once when I was visiting a friend at Bethel. He seemed nice enough. We went to the meeting that Sunday at the congregation where most of the GB attended. I sat directly behind Schroeder and his wife. The public talk was one of the worst I had ever heard, and the WT study was boring.
I thought it was going to be like a super spiritual meeting but it was just blah. I was a bit surprised how lame the answers from the WT study were, even from members of the GB. No insight, no extra researech in their answers. I was also surprised that Al Schroeder spent most of the meeting out of his seat, doing what, I don't know. But definitely wasn't partaking of the fine spiritual banquet prepared by the Faithful and Discreet Slave.
