january 1 1989 contains the quote on page 12 "he was laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century.

" this was later changed in the bound volume and on the cd library to "in our day.".

i have a feeling i am going to have to explain to my jw folks why i have decided to allow my children to participate in holidays at school.

theyll probably be wondering too why i will get together with our non jw family for the holidays.. .

we know jws avoid holidays because of their pagan origins.

Lipstick used to symbolize whether a prostitute was willing to perform oral sex

Jamie: Did lipstick mean the woman would be willing to perform oral sex, or that she wouldn't? I can see it both ways. If she was willing, she had her lips greased up for the task, but if it meant she wasn't willing, I guess its because she wouldn't want to smear her lipstick.

Just wondering.

bridgeport - police in bridgeport say they are investigating a deadly shooting that apparently stemmed from a domestic dispute.. the bridgeport police crime scene unit says a homicide occurred at the kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses, located at 245 huntington turnpike, at around 1:20 a.m. sunday.. police say 36-year-old griselle pizarro, of bridgeport, fatally shot her husband, jacob lopez, in a pickup truck parked outside the hall after he reportedly assaulted her.. more: connecticut crime coverage.

Are either one of these people a Witness? It happened at 1:20am, so it could just be a couple from the neighborhood who pulled into the parking lot for an argument.

Special Bethel Family Meeting before the AGM

If you were to ask each of them, they would have said Armageddon was just around the corner, and would happen in their lifetime. Many thought it would happen within the next year of when this picture was taken. Sadly, they're all dead now. At least I would say its safe to assume.

BTW: Celebrating Christmas just 8 years after being inspected by Jesus and being found worthy, just seems odd, doesn't it?

AMAZING!! I have sat in that assembly hall too many times to count, and could never imagine ANYTHING like that going on there!!

BTW: The Assembly Hall in Indianapolis is a very beautiful building. There was a fire there in the mid 80's so they were able to do some remodeling (The Hall is a historical site which prevents them from doing too many changes). There used to be a lot of granite throughout the lobby. It has since been carpeted over, but it is really a beautiful building inside and out. Its for sale too.

as the regional convention ended in indianapolis, mark sanderson invited all the international delegates to come out onto the field for the final song.

as they walked out, they all held a white handkerchief aloft as they waved.

some in the audience waved a white cloth in return.

once the spell is broken, one you take a deep fresh breath outisde of the watchtower camp, the amazingly obvious realisation becomes clear.... of course this is a lie, of course this is ridiculous!

you find you have memories of really believing the claims and promises, but it seems like another life, another experience.

it seems so incredibly false once you leave and it is very difficult to belive you even once accepted it!

ethey were norhing to do with actually being a JW..it was the people in it and the unfulfilled promises that had value.

I agree with your thoughts. Those highlighted above stood out to me. I have an absolutely amazing and wonderful girlfriend who has friends since childhood. I see her with her friends and I miss the friends I had. The ones who I still care about and think about, but who will not speak to me in the grocery store because I am no longer a Witness.

Who wouldn't want what the JW's preach? I submit that no one could deny that what the JW's preach is something we all want. But when the truth smacks you in the face......When reality sets in, you realiize how naive you were. There is only pity for those still in.....and a yearning that they will wake up and breathe the air of freedom.
