Here in indiana, it's actually kind of chilly today. High of only about 68, overcast and windy. it has rained about 7 of every ten days since March. I have a feeling we're going to go straight into winter without having a hot summer. I NEVER complain about the hot weather because I hate the cold so much.

Is the spring/summer weather in your area 'odd' this year?
by AK - Jeff inmuch of our spring was very cold, intermingled with the occasionally 'extreme' heat.
so far summer [which started this week] is cooler than any i can recall, but extremely wet and high humidity.
the entire house feels like a wet blanket.. the doom-sayer types are constantly remarking how this must mark 'something' if not the end.

my wife left with my little child.
my fault (i dislike the word "fault", but don't have a better one right now).. it feels strange, relieved and free, at the same time it was all very strange.

I feel for you. Coming here to JWN really helped me get over losing my family and see how to "Fill the gap" as you put it.
There are many of us who were born ins and it was the only life we knew. My point is, you are not alone, and feel free to reach out if you need to talk to someone who really understands. There are many here, including myself, who understand what it's like and the challenges ahead.
That being said, be of good cheer, persevere, and do what is best for you and your child!

Question for ex-Bethelites or others in the know: GB members & Bible studies
by sir82 inat a recent circuit event, one of the carefully scripted interviews was with a young lady who had recently moved from nyc.
she has been baptized as a jw for about one year.. she made a point, and the interviewer re-emphasized, that her bible study had been conducted by geoffrey jackson (gb member) and later by mark noumair (gilead instructor).. it seems the primary reason for the interview was name-dropping, with perhaps the idea that even "prominent bethelites" conduct bible studies "just like we are supposed to".
the young lady rambled on about being "grateful for their patience" or some such.

Exactly what I thought. Anytime I had a female that looked like she would progress into a study, I was ALWAYS expected to turn it over to a sister in the hall.

Up until about two years ago, I was drinking almost every night. I told a family member that I felt caught in the middle. I wasn't really "Worldly" and I was certainly not a Witness. She understood because, although she was a JW at the time, she had been df'd in the past and was doing the same things I was doing.

Just bought "Diving Plan of the Ages"......Is there anything you can direct me to in the book?
by drewcoul ini happened to find a studies in the scriptures volume of "divine plan of the ages" on ebay.
i was able to get it for about 12 bucks.
i should have it in a few days.

There are only one billion possible SSN's. Think about it. nine digits each 0 through 9. Which makes the possible combinations 10 to the 9th power. which would be 1,000,000,000. There are about 330 million people in the United States. Of course they will have to reissue SSN's. It's mathematically impossible to issue more than one billion without reissuing or recycling them. After the population has turned over three times, they have to be reused.
