  i have read ozziepost's post on those tasmanian elders who raided a sda church.. does anyone know of similiar behaviour by elders?

  Not really. This one elder only had an extra-marital affair, had a stack of dirty magazines in his locker at work, would question sisters to know end on subjects like their periods (I'm not joking), whether or not they enjoy sex, spys on people in the congregation and then probably whacks off, he's forced other elders and MS's to quit their full time (shiftwork) jobs because they were missing meetings, and where they had to support their families on far less (all for the greater glory).

  I went through that at my JC when I was being DF'd for "fornication"--translation--going on a road trip with my then bf on my 18th b-day and enjoying every minute of being "legal".

  Then they started asking, "how many times did you guys have sex, what kinda sex did you have, what motel did you stay in, etc."

  I told them to get bent and go f*&k themselves; they'll have to do this with me in absentia, because if I stayed, people were going to be verbally assaulted. It just royally pissed me off at the time.

  What an idiot! You can't just snap out of clinical depression.

  I totally agree, RCHP. I had post-partum depression twice (on meds both times). I really pissed me off when ppl would say "snap out of it".

  "You try being a single mother in the military with two kids and no support and try 'snapping out of it'."

  if anyone could help and wouldn't mind, i'd be so grateful.. i am looking for those floppy bucket/fisherman style hats.

  i've searched the stores and it seems a million web pages.

  i haven't found what i'm looking for.. a plain floppy cotton hat in a solid,dark green or army green.. my head is hurting.

  does anyone else love the show as much as i do.. i think it was one of tv's funniest sit-coms.

  i enjoyed it while it was in prime time and i was too young to really understand it.. now, as an adult it is absolutely the one of the funniest shows i have ever seen.

  Something similar like this happened back in 1996(?).

  Some lady followed a pregnant woman to her home (supposedly to buy their SUV) and did the same thing. Just like what recently happened the woman that did it had a miscarriage also and supposedly no one knew she lost her baby.

  Another twist to the 1996 case was that the victim was a Witness.

  i have been wondering, maybe one of the moderators knows,.

  how does someone start a thread and block certain posters (like ones they'd rather not participate) from responding to a particular thread?.

  or do we just leave ourselves open to any and every post and comment on a sensitive issue once it is started?.

  for those who are not familiar with this issue... bush and the fda have been trying to stop seniors and other people from buying their prescription drugs from other countries for less than they can be purchased here in the us.. .

  growing up as a witness makes it nearly impossible to deal with the "world", as a child.

  constant pressure is put on witness kids to conform.

  most lead a "double life" out of necessity.

  I really regret the fact that I backed down whenever my grandparents would say that they would send me to reform school if I don't stop talking to boys/get baptized/pioneer during the summer/etc.

  Of course I have the balls to be outspoken right now. Well, I don't really have balls in the literal sense; I'm a girl. Dammit, you know what I mean!

  Anyhoo--It's really sad that they would use such an excuse to get me to do Witless stuff. Geez; all they could have done was discuss stuff with me. But rarely do Witless children get to make their own decisions, so I was pretty screwed from the get-go.
