It took many years to bring big tobacco down, and they are still alive and they kill people. So Jehovah must be protecting the tobacco companies as well. Must be protecting some drug lords as well.

Good idea or bad idea?

i'm not totally in the best mental state, however, i do have a very small amount of people that i can lean on for support.
i relayed my feelings to a friend (my only friend, really), who took the initiative to inform my family.

In my experience dropping checks can help, as it shows a willing/grieving spirit. But you need to make sure that an elder knows you are doing it. If you approach the COBE (or elder assigned to you) that you would like to make a donation, but don't wish to make the accounts servant feel awkward, how do I do it? - Then if you give him a check for even say $5.00 he knows and the other elders will find out as well.
If I remember correctly from your other post, your with child. So if you have a elder that loves kids - stress you want to be reinstated before the baby comes out. You can't handle the guilt, etc. of giving birth in a bad condition. Ask them repeatedly (like a pest) what you need to do to make it right for your child. As you wish to "save" the child from the reproach. Or something like that.
Its all a mind game, just play it.

WBTS goes to Court of Appeal (Charity Commission investigation)
by Mephis inafter a number of high profile cases where both children and survivors clearly weren't adequately protected, the charity commission here in the uk launched an investigation into the wbts as a whole here in britain.
the main concerns are around the child safeguarding policies being inadequate.
wbts have fought every step of the way so far.. wbts have been to the high court, who told them to complain to the proper tribunal.. wbts have been to the proper tribunal, who told them that too darn right there were suitable grounds for the charity commission to want to investigate their inability to protect children.. and now the wbts have gone back to the court of appeal to demand that the charity commission inquiry be halted.. i hope the court of appeal tells them that, yes, they too need to have proper safeguarding measures for children and to get on with co-operating with the investigation.. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/charity-commission-defends-its-investigation-into-jehovahs-witness-charity-in-the-court-of-appeal.

if they were upstanding and didn't care about the publicity, then why? I'm not too sure on the legal side in the UK relative to damages, so I'm in the dark.

I still wonder what is the purpose of releasing this to the masses?
It really shows thoughtless and uncaring people that just say to remember the bible. No real personal comfort is given, so is that a message they want the masses to think that the elders only show spiritual support?
I'll look forward to a full report by all stuck in to hear the drivel provided during the meeting. You poor poor people -

I remember about 3 years ago the co have a talk to elders and servants stressing the need to stay away from porn. He also stated that porn was the number one cause of servants and elders stepping down or being removed.
At the time I looked at this guy and said well he sure isn't getting any. -

In university while I was studying with JW's. I didn't understand all the acronyms and didn't bother to dig further into them, as it was all weird.
I remember it was the Orwellian World of Jehovah's Witnesses. It just seemed too far fetched to be real.
Nothing like being wrong.
Then while in, I did nothing for 12 years, and then boom, a googles news article then off to the internet.

The quality is indeed diminishing probably due to strict confirming to the tms book. Some stuff made sense but never allowed for a person to be anything but a robot. The new clam meeting will amplify this in years to come unless it's all from a TV.
Lastly, the candidates being brought in are not the most well versed or educated. You get what you pay for. -

The slow trickle has become a steady stream!

many seem to be long time jw's who are troubled by the path of the organisation.

I can't help but wonder if the cult is just evolving to the point that all you get is really in people, and that in turn drives other people to learn TTATT.
So soon all that will be left is jus the uber dub's. Which is really all the GB want, besides there money that is.
I can say I personally thought I might be one rare elder that escaped. This site proved me dead wrong on that. But I did notice that for all the former elders that I have read about, they all have the common theme of actually caring for people. Obedience trumps caring, and thus we have the uber dub division.
