Are you an agronomist or a farmer? If so, I need your help. Related to Miracle Wheat

i am doing some investigation on the miracle wheat episode, and i have a question that i don't know the answer to, and i can't find the answer online.. it seems that, from what i have learnt online, that wheat is a self-pollinating, "perfect flower".

this means that once there is a strain that has a quality that's desirable, all you have to do is plant it, and that feature will remain "forever".

essentially the new plants are all clones.given that information, this statement by penton does not make sense:.

Only reason farmers don't keep seed from prior crops is a agreement with Monsanto. We used to keep seed every year to use for the next. Nothing fancy about it when it's wheat.
I had heard from some of the old russelites that some of the miracle wheat was just expensive normal seed.
All wheat is really no different today.
Not sure where but I have heard of russelites in Saskatchewan to find more information.

If the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor, then the watchtower would have never ever lived up to this commandment from God with how they have treated pedophile's victims. How could one ever be considerate of a neighbor by not reporting it?Any other defense would be to deny Christ itself. So how can any faith that uses the bible even think they can side step that.

It took many years to bring big tobacco down, and they are still alive and they kill people. So Jehovah must be protecting the tobacco companies as well. Must be protecting some drug lords as well.

Good idea or bad idea?

first and foremost, thank you so much to so many of you who have reached out to me over the past few days since my post on sunday.

i'm not totally in the best mental state, however, i do have a very small amount of people that i can lean on for support.

i relayed my feelings to a friend (my only friend, really), who took the initiative to inform my family.

In my experience dropping checks can help, as it shows a willing/grieving spirit. But you need to make sure that an elder knows you are doing it. If you approach the COBE (or elder assigned to you) that you would like to make a donation, but don't wish to make the accounts servant feel awkward, how do I do it? - Then if you give him a check for even say $5.00 he knows and the other elders will find out as well.

If I remember correctly from your other post, your with child. So if you have a elder that loves kids - stress you want to be reinstated before the baby comes out. You can't handle the guilt, etc. of giving birth in a bad condition. Ask them repeatedly (like a pest) what you need to do to make it right for your child. As you wish to "save" the child from the reproach. Or something like that.

Its all a mind game, just play it.

WBTS goes to Court of Appeal (Charity Commission investigation)

after a number of high profile cases where both children and survivors clearly weren't adequately protected, the charity commission here in the uk launched an investigation into the wbts as a whole here in britain.

the main concerns are around the child safeguarding policies being inadequate.

wbts have fought every step of the way so far.. wbts have been to the high court, who told them to complain to the proper tribunal.. wbts have been to the proper tribunal, who told them that too darn right there were suitable grounds for the charity commission to want to investigate their inability to protect children.. and now the wbts have gone back to the court of appeal to demand that the charity commission inquiry be halted.. i hope the court of appeal tells them that, yes, they too need to have proper safeguarding measures for children and to get on with co-operating with the investigation.. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/charity-commission-defends-its-investigation-into-jehovahs-witness-charity-in-the-court-of-appeal.

Seriously why would they fight this?

if they were upstanding and didn't care about the publicity, then why? I'm not too sure on the legal side in the UK relative to damages, so I'm in the dark.

Just looking for reasons that might not be obvious..

I still wonder what is the purpose of releasing this to the masses?
It really shows thoughtless and uncaring people that just say to remember the bible. No real personal comfort is given, so is that a message they want the masses to think that the elders only show spiritual support?
I'll look forward to a full report by all stuck in to hear the drivel provided during the meeting. You poor poor people

Why didn't they edit the cookie part out. I laughed so hard when that happened as I thought it looked like he was thanking God for the cookies.

At the time I looked at this guy and said well he sure isn't getting any.

Anyone who has been trapped in an elevator can see it's a great illustration. Either they keep you trapped in to control what you see and do and keep you confined, or you escape.

Do You Remember The First Time You Looked At "Apostate" Material?

i was always fascinated by it.

as a kid, i used to go to the local library and secretly read books by so called apostates.

later, i would sneak into christian book stores and quickly buy a book or two.

In university while I was studying with JW's. I didn't understand all the acronyms and didn't bother to dig further into them, as it was all weird.

I remember it was the Orwellian World of Jehovah's Witnesses. It just seemed too far fetched to be real.

Nothing like being wrong.

Then while in, I did nothing for 12 years, and then boom, a googles news article then off to the internet.
