it was shocking when i found out the range of bs these people did to each other.
i don't mean sexual abuse, i mean fraud, theft, infidelity and more.

let's set aside our differences for the moment and appreciate this excellent documentary cedars put together that should prove to be an invaluable tool in helping to expose the child abuse issues in the organization.. i was humbled to be able to help with this project on such an important subject, though my part in it was insignificant..
Wow, what a great video. Brought me to tears several times, and made me more firm in my resovle to never ever even entertain going back.

i have been brought up a witness all my life and it is all i know.
i am an ex-elder and pioneer and i don't know anybody outside of the congregation.. i have been unhappy for so long and wanted to leave.
Finding out the truth about the truth is indeed scary, and as such it requires much of your time in research and meditation on that research. Stick to the research first, it will make you more confident with your decisions.
You need more confidence to move forward, so do the leg work to ensure you know what your getting yourself out of. Its one thing to actually leave, its another to know why. As an example, and only an example, if the return to Jehovah brochure speaks to you, then you really haven't done your research.
You can find this is a good community of friends, but like the KH it can be tough as well because many others have gone through similar (but not the same) experiences of dealing with the immense pain of leaving that is caused by many.
I was terrified my wife was going to kick me out, so my goal was to educate myself about the truth, and then I learned to wake up her mind. So what is your goals?

over the years, my experience is that they do attract very needy, insecure, dysfunctional, types.

I told a CO once that I swear the only ones that agree to a study and get baptized are societies oddballs, or suffering from severe depression and we offer them a friend.
I say this with a grain of salt in that we are all unbalanced in some ways. Makes us human.
