Is this an anti-JW website?
by keyser soze inwhen i registered here over 4 years ago i thought it would be a good place to interact with like-minded christians who loved jehovah as much as i do.
but after reading some of the posts on here i'm beginning to believe that the sentiment on here is largely anti-witness.
i justed wanted to tell you all what vile and hateful people you are..

Just.......wow. What an utterly depressing boardgame.
A comment from one of the posters on the Facebook page:
Inquiring minds wanna know...Looks interesting. The box says it is for 13+. Why is that when you can get baptised at 10 or 12 years old?

Repent because God's Kingdom has drawn close!
by Kosonen inhere on this forum there are so many sinners, many here are doing things that will bring god's wrath upon themselves.
consider yourself if you in some aspect fit the description in romans 1:28-32:.
and just as they did not approve of holding god in accurate knowledge, god gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of god, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.

@ mrsjones5:
Collard and turnip green with kale (or spinach if you want a tad of smoothness) sautéed in garlic and bacon fat with bits of bacon intertwined
Totally yum.
Gee, all this talkin' about "Repent! As the Kingdom is (sorta, kinda but not really) Near" + Zeus Rules! has been truly drool-worthy

Is there something in the cyber-water lately? I'm amazed at the amount of posters that don't investigate a forum first before posting...yet go through all the trouble to sign up and then submit an "I'm so offended/ashamed/you should be ashamed/please delete me" thread. Reading and comprehension = invaluable skills.
But....welcome! Pull up a chair. We really don't bite (hard...or often...or is that hardly often?) LOL Seriously, there are a lot of nice people here, and you could learn a thing or six. Please, tell us your story. What brought you to an online forum in the first place? I thought something like that was frowned upon by the WT. Were you doubting something about the Governing Body, or saw something that you didn't agree with as written in the WT or Awake magazines? Tell us, we're all ears.
Peace,

Lurkers to any of mankkeli's treads did you notice that he never answered my brain from thinking? question on how not to use my
by life is to short inlurkers i clearly asked mankkeli how to stop my brain from thinking.
really jehovah came to earth and saw a man who had a horrible marriage, and was involved with the spirit world and jehovah said to himself "there's a man who i can work with to do my will?
to keep believing that i could live forever.

((LITS)) - I'm sorry that this was upsetting for you. Personally I find your posts to be so utterly heartfelt, sincere, honest and speak the truth. Mank's are not. Your original post asking this question and this follow-up, to ask have him to simply respond to "how does one turn off one's mind, then?" are far beyond his willingness and ability to answer. It merely likes to stir the pot, push buttons, get a rile out of people...and then walk away, laughing as it goes. It's the type of person that would kick another when they're down. To answer to any direct questions, and truthfully so, is something it's incapable of doing. Or it IS capable of doing, but chooses not to....which is worse, IMHO.
It's response, to include:
infact you would have remained and moved on perfectly well.
...made my blood boil for you. Really, Mank? "In fact" - prove it!!!!! The thing is, it can't. Must be one of those "evidentally" type of things Mank just tries to take away other people's freedom to chose what is good for THEM on their journey. It probably does't have the courage to fade, to break free and thus are using scare tactics to keep others "in". It's a coward! And mostly, it attempts to diminish and invalidate the experience and story and pain of others, to include someone like LITS. Shame on Mank!
For LITS
Peace, love & friendship for you,

Are you sure leaving is a wise decision ?- Lurkers think twice- Part 2
by mankkeli inin the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.

This one is a doozy...
I want to drive lurkers far away, let them go and deal with their doubt with the elders, not to come here and here all sorts of rantings, complains and contempts. Let them go back to their elders and explain whatever they have in mind not to a place were chances are high they would be more confused than they were.
So.....'splain to us again how you are not pro-JW? Also - those poor lurkers, were they to go to their elders and share their doubts...most likely, next thing ya know - they'd be in front of a JC so fast, their head would be spinnin' (and who knows - booted out?) Gee, thanks for helping them control a low-key, non-traumatic exit, Mank! You're a peach!
You must like having Fail for breakfast.

when you were a jw did you believe in cavemen ?
by looloo ini was wandering round the natural history museum in london last week and saw the early man skeltons and learned about how they lived and what they ate etc and thought about the adam and eve who i was taught about at the kingdom hall that seemed to just ignore the fact that people lived many thousands of years ago and not just 6000 .
as a jehovahs witness how did you feel about early man skeltons being found and the dinosaurs etc and how did you manage to explain it in your own mind never mind to anyone else ?
i was told by an elder that if your given a plate of food and dont like something on the plate do you just leave it all ?

When I was a JDub
Dinosaurs I always felt they existed but just not sure when. Still they fascinated me.
Same here. I remember sitting in the K.H. one boring Sunday meeting...ya know - daydreaming (a healthy mental exercise for a good JW child to engage in - LOL) and thinking, "...but, but....what about the DINOSAURS?" It bothered me. What with the incessant blathering of "You see, Brothers and Sisters: we have been here only 6,000 years...oh, then there was this HUGE global flood that destroyed everything except for a floatin' boat with a small family and their pets..." and yet we were taught about dinosaurs and cavemen and such in School...it never made sense to me. My little brain was all "WTH with what Br. So and So is saying? Something ain't right here..."
Betcha my dad regrets not having us home-schooled.
