I am sorry you were molested.
Research the ARC....... the Australian Royal Commission and their findings about child sexual abuse within the JW religion.
This is not a good or honest religion. Walk away....... you can do better.
i just woke up and i'm new on here.
if your an unbaptized publisher can you be disfellowshipped or dissociated?
please send me a message.

What you can do is absent yourself form meetings.
Eventually you will get a phone call from some Elders or emails.
Emails are easy to brush aside....... you can claim......... you do not check your emails.
Phone calls you answer should start with an appreciation acknowledgement that the brother or sister is wanting to know why you have 'dropped out' of meetings.
You can use the phrase you have 'stumbled by.....in this case the JW's pedophile problem. Until it's cleaned up you can not be involved in the religion.
Thank them and invite them to let you know when pedophiles will no longer be tolerated and not exposed to the proper authorities.
That's it your done with the JW's religion. It's their weak point and there's no censure since it's all over the news...... Google It.
i`ll list a few things and welcome any input, comments you may have .. 1.when adam & eve "sinned" disobeyed him, surely god could have handled it better than to condemn all future generations to disease and death ?.
2.his handling of satan who supposedly seduced eve to disobey god could also have been done a lot differently with a finality to it.. 3.i find little if anything in his dealings with the patriarchs that suggests a loving god protecting them.?.
4.taking on the nation of israel and leading them as his chosen people does not inspire confidence or trust as a god of love.. 5.throughout the hebrew scriptures / old testament his chosen people were constantly at war with other nations which of course would have meant many deaths of the israelite`s during these battles .and the grief that comes with family members in those times.
The great Flood is another example of writers who were delusional.
God throws a hissy fit and sets out to kill every man, women, and child and every animal not on the ARK.
Of course this was all made up crap that never happened. But there is an intention. Don't get on his bad side because God is nuts.
His options could have been to send his son and a bunch of angles down to earth and destroy the gross wicked and lead reasonable people to see a new light. But No he sets out to kill everyone not on the ARK.
Every one and anything breathing. Now since this simpleton god can see the future he should know that the future will revert back to another level of wickedness.
Acting like a mental defective he drowns every man, women and child. What one year old could be looked at as a wicked person.? And perhaps worse....... the unborn die as well. God has now become the greatest abortionist, of all time.
Jehovah the wannabe god who apparently can't control his appetite for slaughter.
i’m relatively new to this forum but am far from new when it comes to living life as a jw.
i wanted to throw out there my own personal experience and feelings and welcome any conversations (i’m mighty chatty and don’t have much for friends when it comes to jw’s) .
i hit the turning of an era nearly a month ago of legally becoming an adult, raised as a j dub my whole life.
Welcome Friend ......Justangel.
Everyone here....... at least 90%, have become ex JW's or POMO's (Phyicically Out Mentally Out) others are PIMO's (Physicaly In but Mentally Out).
We also use short hand for The Truth About The Truth. TTATT
I'll share my journey with you for what its worth.
Baptized at 16 like every other JW teen I knew. At 18 I decided to serve as a pioneer where the need was great. It turned out to be the best decision I ever made. That's where I met my wife to be. She looked to be 17, fully grown, but she was actually 15 1/2.
Well she was my significant other and so we dated or rather 'courted'. This is the early 1960's I think we went through a box of chap sticks over the next two years until we both felt ready to marry. Kissing was just about the only intimacy that was appropriate.
She didn't have a house phone....... nor did I....... we arranged our dating through the mail.
I was pretty involved in the JW world and my congregation. Mostly I was used as a public speaker in the circuit and had three Elder level positions (we didn't have Elders in those days).
I will not go into that history since it no longer matters..when you leave you leave......for good.
All relationships were conditional that you were a believing JW.
I had three issues that were really difficult to hold on to. The ban on blood was already killing off a few of my and her family members.
Armageddon........... which was totally made up nonsense. Billions were to die so I and our fellow JW's could move into their homes (only the best homes of course). The little children would die because their parents were not interested in reading and accepting our WT books and magazines.
And that we had the only truth. Other religions cared for their members...... fed the hungry, clothed those that needed help etc. The JW's were not interested in the needs of the poor and ignorant.
I guess I knew it wasn't the truth but it took time to unwind their religious nonsense and realize they didn't have the 'Truth' and that no religion had the truth cause it was all made up. It took a couple of years to think it through today with the information provided by jwfacts.com it would take two days.
I sat with my wife and told her I had come to the conclusion that the JW religion was not the truth. I was nervous and quickly told her she could continue with the religion. There was a long pause and then she grinned and said two things to me;
"I've never believed the JW religion was for real".
And the second thing she told me: "Close your mouth!"
We stopped pioneering and left the religion with one C minus high school diploma between us. Vietnam hovering in the background. No real job skills and only a few ex JW friends.
It took us about five years to get retrained, establish our boundaries and start a new life.
In all .........leaving......... was the best decision we ever made.
When I was in my forties I needed open heart surgery, there was a problem and I was given five liters of blood. That was 35 years ago. I got to live a life worth living with the finest person I've ever known.
jws or mormons.
from a public point of view not from people within the religion as that would be obvious.. examples of extreme beliefs or behaviour would be useful..
This might sum up the issue of the JW's Versus the Mormons.
Both the Mormons and the JWs are knocking on the doors on the same street Both approach one another on the sidewalk.
They stand facing one another and the two JW's declare that they don't step aside for Apostates.
"We do!" Says the Mormons and they walk around the JW's.
Seriously Of the two religions, and if that was the only choice, I vote Mormon hands down.
They live in the real world...though they have an imaginary one ...and as such they have their own quirks.
But they do encourage higher education. They have a fair number of universities and colleges. They are business oriented. Making money is a good thing! They don't refuse a life saving blood transfusion. They don't meddle in peoples health care. They officially gave up multiple marriages though some still think it's the proper thing to do. But they are very family orientated.
They only ask for two years of door to door service then it's on to the rest of their lives.
They are versed in politics and military service.
Their taste in music is up to the individual.
Where they live and how they live is left up to the individual.
The Mormons like the JW's can't seem to reconcile gay people. The Mormons didn't allow Black Folks to serve in their temple the JW's have the largest group of people of color. So that's one for the JW's.
That aside........... being a casual Mormon with a good education would be the best of both worlds.
people want to get back to work, back to "normal" in many cases (whatever normal now means).
even trump is encouraging protesters in 3 states.. but with the covid-19 thing, this is not just a matter of a person taking a risk, as a person may do who smokes, takes illegal drugs or in other ways lives an unhealthy lifestyle.
in general, most (not all, since cost of insurance and public hospitals may be involved), but generally you are not putting the lives of others at risk.
No they can't sign a legal document that absolves you from putting your family, friends and co workers at risk. What the hell are you talking about?
How could you not put families and friends at risk if you sit in a bar? Bowl a few rounds with friends and buddies? Attend a church..... breath the same air as others.
Show up at an idiot protest and stand around with people telling you how you have rights.
A lack of a blood transfusion just damages you.....not your family's health.
This is an active killing virus that a person who has no idea that they are carrying that virus can spread to others.
You bring that shit home and your people are at risk and can die.
This is what we are dealing with. We are individually responsible for spreading this..... if we are reckless............
Think about driving a car.......... there are a hundred different issues to deal with .....which is why it's not left up to you to decide which rules you will obey.
Your car has to be inspected for working brakes and pollution control.
Safety Belts, Stop signs, Red lights, turning signals. Children warnings on resident streets. Places you can not take when it's one way traffic or no access roads.
We accept these laws because they represent the smart and safe way to drive.
Their is no amendment rights that allows you to infect the larger population with a viral
disease.
I have always found it interesting that the invention of a god is assigned to a preexisting role that is limited to the culture and traditions of the people that invented them.
There is no god without a culture and tradition first. Which means that a belief in that god is pretty damn sketchy.
After being on this forum for some ten years and posting over 5,300 posts I know who is up to the task of illuminating a discussion with facts and sound reasoning.......... Cofty comes to mind immediately.
MCL........ you are a waste of our time. Being an idiot on this forum means you are simply....an idiot. And I am profoundly sorry that you are so mentality impaired.
You have your version of 'truth' but like all of the nut cases that drift to the WTBTS in hope that their nuttiness will win out....... you have a limp mind.
Now you show up on this exJW forum and expect.......... what?
We run across some one like you ......every week. Your thinking is common and has no reasoning. You have nothing to share.
so, if you expect to find 'saints' with halos, you will never find real christians.. after over 30 years of being a jw, there are many things about the org that disturb me- yet no one else even acknowledges the only true god, as jesus referred to him.. not a 'they' or 'them' ('trinity')- but him!and he has always had the name jehovah (yehovah in hebrew)- even though the koine greek had no version of it when the nt was written.. so among the many things real christians have to endure- is often each other!
.
If you really want to nurture a belief in God and his Son this is a good place to educate yourself. And by the way You do need a reality check.
Our interests on this forum......... is not to second the WT beliefs or any other religions belief. You get to do that for yourself.
For most of us we are not tied to the Old or New Testament instead our respect is reserved for humanity. Meaning we respect the good that is in humanity, in education, science, health. We work at understanding reality and real history....... not made up bullshit to suit a church hundreds of years after Jesus walked the earth.
None of which Jesus was interested in. He was like today's politicians............ he was running for the job of Messiah. Hence all of those funky miracles that amounted to nothing including the resurrection of Lazarus.
By the way has anybody ever heard from Lazarus? I bet the JW's would love to know that Lazarus is still with us.
Good news..... bad news. Lazarus lives but he's in Salt Lake City
Apparently the son of God had his memory scrubbed when born and it took a good 30 years before he realized he had a vital mission to perform.
Sloppy work on behalf of his Father.
By the way......... why didn't Jesus or any of his followers write anything down at the time so that mankind could follow the actual words he intended? After all the oral stories telling about Jesus.......... we have no idea what he said or what he meant but we do have the writings of good old Paul.
It's interesting to me that Paul only needed the space on the front and back of a post card to quote all he thought Jesus had to say.
Paul was a self important total nut case.
Even the con man, Joseph Smith, hand wrote everything down that affects the Mormon religion to this day.
Mohamed wrote down everything that effects the Muslim religion to this day.
And lets not forget the ancient Greeks who rationalized that the Atom might exist.
Then there is Buddha who spoke about human reasoning........ that is still practiced to this day....cause someone wrote it down.
But know that the Jehovah's Witness Governing body does not quote nor study the life of Jesus. Of course Jesus did not say any thing about the future WTBTS.
The Society is very petty about respect.
my dad just became mistrial servant should i move out i’m almost 18. what the hell should i do?
.
This is a situation that effects many Teens. Your emotionally out but still in.
My advice is to consider a meeting or a home bible study, or strolling around for an hour or two in the door to door service as your rent.
It's a way to pay back for the roof over your head and food on the table.
Start making plans for education...two year colleges are now ok with the congregations.
In fact you can even develop a paying skill that will allow you to enter a fair number of professions. Or continue your education.
Stay in touch.......... we have all had to deal with JW family and this incredibly sorry religion.
