  JWs can toast now….what’s next

  so you can see from multiple topics here (& elsewhere), based on gb update #4, jws now have permission to toast.. there’s been a boatload of “xyz is now allowed” over the past couple of years….beards, no ties in field service or at the kh, sister can wear pants at the kh & in field service…... what do you think is next?.

  a lot of folks are speculating on birthday celebrations being allowed, and i agree that will eventually come, but i don’t think it is next.

  too big of a jump.. heres my guess:.

  Anyone explain the generation idea!

  i don't understand we went thru a phase where we down played the generation so now it's the generation that knew the 1914 generation???

  is that correct?

  Splane invited his audience to come up with their own scripture to support the doctrine and suggested one that he felt was appropriate. By doing this he was basically saying that they would come up with their own interpretation and jws could use any scripture to justify it.

  The teaching is so far fetched from anything that the bible supports but the craziest part is that someone came up with this idea and convinced about 7 GB members that it was truth. Truth that they agreed to and would now require 8 million JWs to believe, as truth, also.

  Few JW leader have children

  it’s been discussed before that few jw leaders, past and present, have had children.

  this is in contrast with other groups, such as the mormons, whose leaders have had a lot of children.

  i wonder if this has impacted jw growth.

  With the Watchtower having similarities to a business, it can also be seen in this aspect too.

  For decades, it’s been argued that the main reason females are not paid the same as males and fill far fewer top positions is because of childbirth. Their careers are badly affected by having children. The same can be seen in the organisation where childless couples fill a significant amount of higher positions.

  on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

  a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.

  in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

  Juneteenth being celebrated by JWs

  so today i saw a group of jws i know, we were sitting down to eat at a public place and i guess they (mom and daughter) were performing at an event with their sports team… for juneteenth.. they (the entire team) happened to sit next to us for some fast food and i recognized them and said hi, hoping to make them uncomfortable.

  they actually said hi and introduced themselves to my family, i’ve seen them before (they go to the same school as one of my kids) and they usually ignore me.

  i know for a fact they and their family still goes, the family patriarch is an elder etc.

  I have never heard of the holiday, I’m not American. It’s to celebrate blacks being freed from slavery.

  This family my becoming less attached to the organisation or have always not followed all the rules.

  Either way, it could be a good sign.

  You made that post to the Governing Body but you also started this thread.

  Now you are saying something different in that, you will post that which you are told to. Then you claim that truth is written in your heart.

  However, you’ve clearly made two completely opposite claims. Which one is it and how can truth be written in your heart when clearly, it can’t be?

  We are all imperfect. I hope you can see the difference in that we may strive and aim to have truth in our heart but we cannot claim that we do for God has spoken to us and warns us
