The Governing Body - their own worst enemy!
by cedars ini've been giving some thought recently to what's going on in the minds of the individual governing body members, and what makes them tick.
the process of listening to their talks for my "getting to know you" youtube video series, though draining, has been very enlightening.
i now feel i know some of their individual personalities a little better than i did previously.. then there has been the tumultuous events of 2012. it's been interesting to note the way the governing body has responded to some of these issues, and how in most cases their responses have been woefully inadequate or even counter-productive as regards their long-term interests.. for example:.

Faithful Slaves & Domestics - Who Are They?

all christians have a place in god's house.".

The Searcher makes some good points and if the R&F are now domestics then they must now be part of God's household and therefore directly part of the new covenant.

Great read Cedars, it is always worthwhile to take time out to read your posts.
It would appear that the last article linking the FDS to the anointed was in 2009. Posters have mentioned that they often introduce new light over a period of time so that R&F either don't notice it or just accept it. I appreciated the way you explain how this new light is probably a bad move on their part. You would think that they had learnt lessons from serving half baked ideas in the past and that the more help they can get from other JWs would only help to serve them better.

My Near Death Experience
by Dogpatch inhi y'all, just wanted to let you know i was out for a stroll on my bicycle for exercise last week and got hit by a car 100 yards from my house.
it was a hit and run.
i got up with only minor bruises but felt really dizzy and asked one of my roommates to take me to the hospital as i was dizzy and felt i was going to pass out on the spot in the middle of the street.

Dogpatch, sorry to hear about your treatment. You've really got to be careful in all things that you do. I don't know how you let someone you only recently employed get access to your private bank details. As for being on the roads when you weren't strong enough is not all that wise. Of course you didn't deserve any of the aftermath but please take care.

DO Brown Payne tells SA audience Serena Williams "disciplined" by her local elders for swearing on TV
by oppostate inat today's special assembly in natick ma, bro brown payne annouced to the audience that serena williams was disciplined by her local elders for her swearing escapade on tv.. saying: "can jehovah's witnesses swear like that on tv?
" then he told the audience that she was "disciplined" by the elders of the congregation she's a publisher in.. doesn't this smack of revealing the private business of another person?
the most the local elders could have said was "a matter concerning serena williams has been handled by the elder body".

If the story is not true then he is making a lot of assumptions and ones that don't have anything to do with the story (like having everything that other women wished they had).
If she prayed more specifically he says God would direct her to the elders and they would read scriptures to her. Huh?
"But there's a guy down on the job" - there are some serious problems with the way he expressed this.

The report posted today about the meeting fills in a few gaps regarding their explanations. One that I was wondering about was how they justify distinguishing themselves from the rest of the anointed.
It would appear that the GB now consider themselves to be the Priestly Class that existed within Ancient Israel.
Those within priestly class would prove to dispense food. Not all anointed are F&DS.
