Sept 2014 WT study highlights ("Love all the work, including sweeping the floor")
by EndofMysteries indon't mind the corrections i made with some of the quotes, the wt obviously doesn't proofread for accuracy.
under the article about "are you convinced you have the truth" they say this about disfellowshippings...... "thus, during the modern-day history of jehovahs witnesses, relatively few many have had to be been expelled from the christian fellowship because they would not conform to gods the governing body's standards.
this is a good one!....under an article about reaching out, (since they need to replace all those waking up, they give some tips on how to get promoted), my favorite quote..... "love all the work you are given to do in the congregation, including sweeping the floor.".

Thanks EOM I was going to compare them myself because you can't get more simplified that the Study Edition.
This is the reason they gave for producing the simplified version
The simplified edition was designed to help those who attend English congregation meetings at the Kingdom Hall but who do not speak English as their mother tongue
It doesn't make any sense as to why they wouldn't want non English speaking Brothers reaching out for jobs such as floor sweeping.

You don't need to go back further than twelve months to find everything in this magazine repeated.
There must be some real problems in the congregations with such a need to keep repeating specific directions.
I was mistaken for a moment in thinking that I was reading the simplified version.

If they really wanted to catch the attention of passerby's they would have show bags with mags, pamphlets, a book, a JW org badge, oh and a pen and small notepad. Throwing in a survival pack might grab some attention as well.
They just aren't sincere. :)

At RC, Splane says 1000+ new KH's needed, last year only "60" new one's built.
by oppostate inso there are now regular, full time "construction servants" and their help is much needed along with regional rbc volunteers, who better get working because over a thousand kh's are needed and last year only sixty were built by the u.s. branch.
.
splane also said that just with the new baptized this weekend all over the u.s. we had one whone new circuit, so we better put more work into building needed kingdom halls..

Nonjwspouse, that is exactly what happened to a congregation in Australia. It was just over a year ago. They were told they needed a bigger hall because it couldn't hold all the people attending the Memorial.
This was in an area that had low JW numbers originally because it was in a quiet area. It wasn't until about 20 years ago that they had enough members able to put the money together to build their own hall. Prior to that they were renting an old hall owned by another religion. It had no heating or air conditioning, no carpeting and hard wooden benches.
The hall was built in a very desireable location and sold for a lot of money, there would have been more than enough to build a hall twice the size on another plot of land in the area.
Now the members have to travel 20kms further and attend meetings at a more unsuitable time to fit in with the other congregations using the same hall.
Not everyone agreed to the sale, I know of at least one person that voted against it. It just didn't make sense.

The Real Truth About Raymond V. Franz Revealed!
by bjc2012 inand for those reasons, coj wanted in the beginning, to stay with the organization, just like bill bowens.
that is all carl wanted.
yes, as members of the governing body, they knew full well, exactly what carl's writings meant.

The opening post is just rubbish. Ray Franz never set out to be a hero or brave so the whole premise is wrong.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: The mean-spirit of Russell's sham marriage
by Terry init is commonly known by jehovah's witnesses, the marriage of pastor c.t.russell and his wife maria (moe-rye-uh) was an uneasy one.. the marriage itself was founded on a weird interpretation of "virginity" and "purity" as only an obsessive-compulsive.
puritan fanatic might find agreeable.
the two of them were not to share a bed (or physical relations.).

Thanks for the link Terry. I had a fair deal of respect for Russell until I found out about his wife and how he treated her towards the end of their relationship but particularly more so after their seperation. As the leader of a religious organization he had no excuse for not monetarilly supporting his wife but he went even further by shifting monies from his personal accounts into business structures in order to avoid reasonable payments to her.
Even though these words were written more than 100 years ago it is uncanny as to how much of Mrs Russell's statements are so true of the organization and its leaders today.
