research impossible

so, now that nearly all of the past knowledge that jw's has had is slowly being deleted, how does anyone do any research on any subject?.

meetings are pretty boring as it is, all they do is parrot the society's writings.. how is this going to work?

i have to wonder , what point is the service meeting , once you know how to walk up to a door and hand someone a magazine.

The only way to see them would be in our library headquarters in Brooklyn NY. And at that they are not open to the public.

The elder wasn't honest, at least he could have said that the publications are no longer officially available to the public.

I was thinking the same thing myself, sowhatnow. And it's not only a problem that research now is impossible but their new ideas are not logical, make no sense and so loosely based on the bible that it's hard to make any JW see sense.

With this March 2015 Watchtower it makes a lot of their past publications questionable. Their parables are now being simplified and just about all the secondary fulfillments/anti-types are out the door. This means that we don't know what from the past they will be retaining. The end result means that the dubbies can only rely on all current publications. This has to be their intended result and makes our job more difficult. Any time we bring up anything from the past they will ignore it.

We need a new strategy.

earlier in the week someone posted the potential value of the jw website based on visits and if they used advertisements.

many stated they would never do that but i propose they could.. besides their real estate profit making business model, they have the conventions as cash generating machines.

they give directions to their members to which hotels/motels to use.

I wonder if they get any revenue from that.

At the very least there would be some sort of 'arrangement'. After all, there is a monopoly here with a potential audience of over 8 million people. You don't just go putting up a clickable commercial company logo belonging to another business on an otherwise ad free website for no reason.

From what I can see, you need to buy a Roku product which will then allow you to plug it into your TV. This will then allow you to watch the JW TV video's on your TV. This is a great promotion for Roku.

in the new book released at the witnesses assemblies this year , " keep yourselves in god's love " notice this bit of counsel given on possible separations in marriage .

it says on pg.

221 , " absolute endangerment of spiritual life.

I didn't read through the whole thread but found it interesting how some felt there was no contradiction when there is a clear contradiction.

nder the subheading : Do Jehovah's Witnesses encourage their members to separate from a marriage mate who is not a Witness ? It states : " No.

The org. loves to mention the scripture that states to let your yes mean yes and your no, no. There is a clear 'no' in the answer to their question yet the truthful answer would be to say - 'There are times when the JWs do encourage a member to seperate from a non witness ....

They are advertising on their website. They have a direct link to Roku and are using their logo.

How Do I Change Avatars?

There's probably several ways of doing it and this was my method. You need to download a picture of your choice to your computer. Double click on your username on the top bar, right hand side. This will bring you into a section which will give you the choice to 'Upload Avatar Image'. Select that and it will bring you back into your own computer to search for the picture that you previously downloaded or have in your picture files. Double click on the one you want and finish off by selecting 'update your profile'.

Hope that works.

i wonder whether nk leader un has even seen this movie, "the interview.

" he might even get a laugh out of it.

but the censorship is so similar to the censorship found among jw's!

We got sucked in and watched the movie to see what all the controversy was about. The movie is pretty disgusting. It was designed to be highly offensive. There was no need to portray Kim Jong Un in this movie.

Our opinion was that North Korea had nothing to do with the hacking of Sony's computers. The attack and resulting publicity has the result of attracting more viewers to the movie, all intentional.

It defies belief that any Country has the ability to hack into any large corporation's computer system. If this is the case then we have a serious problem on our hands.

Obama expressed his concern about freedom of speech. If it was himself that was portrayed in a movie like this instead of Kim Jong Un I don't doubt that there would be many people in the USA expressing how sickening this movie was.

North Korea has a relatively small population and a limited amount of funds, providing a good opportunity to experiment with this type of propaganda.

Greetings, yet have problems

i'm married, have a wonderful, but "unbelieving" wife.

i have three kids, all of whom are honor students and very responsible.. now my dilemma: none of my kids are the least bit interested in being jw's.

i took them all to meetings even as babies without the help of my wife or anyone else in the congregation.

I found I couldn't log on using Internet Explorer but this has been the case for a number of weeks. If I use Google Chrome I don't have a problem.

That's what's missing from our family

tonight as i was putting my son to bed, we were looking out his bedroom window from his bed, down upon the neighbors' house across the street.

they have a beautiful, big sparkly christmas tree in their front window and my son gazed at it and said, "that's what's missing from our family.

" talk about daggers through the heart!.

Is it possible for you to buy them some gifts and give it to them on their birthday or Xmas day? You could try doing it in secret and tell the kids not let their father see them until a short time after the occassion.

Our Grandmother would send us kids a little package a month before or after our brithday each year, it used to infuriate our dad and she would use the excuse that she felt she needed to recognize each of us individually at least once a year. Then at Xmas time we would holiday with her and at the end of it she would have a special dinner and give us all presents. It was so thoughtful and puts a smile on my face when I think about it now.
