  I just found out that my youngest brother committed suicide

  our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.

  JW daughter, you are right but the Elders probably reasoned out the matter in a different way. It might be that he never mentioned the matter to anyone and never apologized to the victim. Although a lot of Elders may have let the matter go the fact that it was made public and he admitted guilt, they had to be seen as taking action.

  My guess is he didn't get disfellowshipped for the act itself but because he didn't show any signs of repentance all these years.

  Baldeagle - When he talks about some speculating that a 40+ year old anointed in say 1990 could well live into his 80’s he says, “Does that mean that this old system could continue until 2040?” He continues on saying that the Bible and Jesus make no mention that the 2nd group of anointed brothers have to be “old, decrepit or near death.” He says that the prophecy makes no reference to age.

  What is crazy about this is he tells these ones that they shouldn't be speculating because just two versus later Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour.

  He particularly says "remember Jesus said we weren't supposed to find a formula of the time of the end (big frown) ...and even if that speculation is a remote possibility there would be very few in that category...it could reach it's culmination this year to be absolutely accurate, not all of the second group would have passed away..."

  He condemns the GB by saying we aren't supposed to come up with a time line but once again their interpretation does that very thing.

  No wonder he was nervous about his talk. It would seem that his brief was to make it sound like Armageddon could likely occur very shortly but he stuffed up big time.

  He also states that Freddie made a note in one of the publications that he was 'baptised into Jesus' death on Nov. 1913. This sounds like a very different type of baptism than what is now practised.

  If Freddie kept notes such as the one found in the suitcase and having lived so long, I'd say he would've needed much more than an old suitcase, even a trunk, more like a sea container.

  this guy comes across has full of shite, and you know he would be a different person if there were other elders around with him.

  Tripmama10, sorry to hear that you went through a really tough time. It's really sad that those 'taking the lead' aren't able to help.

  What the Elder had to say was just empty words. It was very telling towards the end when you highlighted that both your father and the Organization had let you down and he wouldn't acknowledge that fact for a second.

  The organization is perfect and you were wrong in attributing any blame on their part - I'm sure that makes you feel really good and ready to return for more of the same.

  so i'm sure a good number of us saw the chart that i believe the poster splash put on another thread of figures since 1990 regarding how many baptized and % of increase each year .

  i started analyzing it ( and i know some referred to it briefly on the other thread ) and guessing of reasons the % of increase didn't match the number of newly baptized.

  and of course common sense tells us that either jw's leave the cult each year through death, fading into inactivity, or getting dfed.

  The 40,000 death or exit figure for 2014 seems very odd. There would likely have been more deaths alone in this year without even considering the number who left.

  A possible explanation would be a large number of previously baptised persons returning.

  some people point out the subliminal pictures in the wtbts publications but sometimes things are just so obvious, such as the title of the book above.. the person who came up with the title for this book must have had a good old laugh.. interestingly, this book first came out in 1988 and has not been included in the online library but nothing has replaced it.

  Okay but the report is not out yet.

  I expect the RC is giving org's such as the WTBTS time to allow them the opportunity to come up with their own reform and advise the RC of their changes. If they don't reform or their reforms are inadequate then the Commission will address this in a report, it will be damning for the wtbts.

  Berry Gerry, Cedars started a group and encouraged ex JWs to join and unfortunately some members personal information was compromised.
