For the purpose of the illustration it was not necessary to dress two men in pretty bow ties then say they are not really waiters but are from the writing department. Something is very fishy about this. It could be that the GB helper wanted to make it known that they have their own lackeys or that the writing department are really the ones in control (and just look at the stupid things they can do). -

about a year ago i became aware of child abuse within the org, out of curiosity (just like pandora) i opened the box and the evils have been pouring out ever since regarding the org.

Hi Pandora, I wonder what surprises you've stored in that box of yours? Oh dear, I hope this doesn't get an R rating. -

Interesting point TheFadingAlbatros. Even the use of garlic powder makes no sense as it is often used in one way or another on bread here in Australia and other countries. -

The three loaves represented 3 people, he turns them around and they're actually half a loaf. The 2nd loaf, which committed a serious sin was likened to dipping it in mud. For it to become clean, he cut off the bad bit and threw it into the bin, leaving a quarter of half a loaf. I guess that means that loaf has three chances left.
The third loaf was 'grieving the HS' and he represented this by adding more garlic powder over it and could be removed by dusting it off or 'readjusted thinking'. This garlic powder had been added to all three loaves and represented imperfection, if the additional powder could be dusted off from the third loaf, couldn't the original dusting of imperfection on all three loaves also be removed by the same method?
The thing is that the whole discussion was about three groups of sin. As imperfect humans, every one of us are going to commit, time and time again, the third type of sins, that is grievance against the HS.
By getting JWs used to accepting such stupid made up examples that make little sense, it makes it easier for them to interpret biblical parables into nonsense where the average JW just accepts what they say without thinking, such as the FDS.

Regarding sin, he tries to explain it using 3 loaves of bread, being 3 people and the affects on them in regards to different types of sin. Sinning against the HS, gross sin and grieving the HS. It is so silly.
He is able to explain what gross sin and grieving the HS means to JWs but can't really explain what sinning against the HS (which means the unforgivable sin).
He uses two biblical examples equating them to the unforgivable sin. One was when the pharisees said to Jesus that he didn't cure a man through God but through Satan, the other was Judas. He said that it wasn't for us to work out what was sinning against the HS but for God to judge. But it had to do with our heart condition.
They have defined what is sinning against the HS in the past but flip flop on their interpretation.
The fact is, they have no idea what sinning against the HS is because even though they judge a persons heart in many instances (repentance), there is not one thing a person can do that would disqualify him from potentially returning to the organization.
If it's not up to them to decide what is sinning against the HS then why are they making a judgement against Judas and the Pharisees? Just because they are dead does not give them the right to do this. They forget that they believe these were real people. If they can judge these people then why can't they do the same today?
By not understanding what it means and yet judging people from the past, shows their intention is to use the idea to impose fear into people.

Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.
here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.
1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

I am wondering about the video presentations and whether they are voiced over depending on which country they are being presented in. When showing them in Australia or the UK, do they retain the original American accents? -

Thought control - sexual fantasizing is wrong - May 2016 Watchtower
by Listener in>>the bible reveals that jehovah issaddened when people pursue a wick-ed course and ‘the inclination of theirthoughts is only bad all the time.’ (readgenesis 6:5, 6.
) from this we can per-ceive that sexual fantasizing is wrongbecause it can lead to serious sin that isforbidden in the scriptures and is out ofharmony with jehovah’s way of think-ing.the disciple james wrote: “the wis-dom from above is first of all pure, thenpeaceable, reasonable, ready to obey, full of mercy and good fruits, impar-tial, not hypocritical.” (jas.
3:17) beingaware of this, we should be moved toreject entertainment that fuels impurethoughts and inclinations.

Welcome to the forum Stepford Wife. It is a difficult situation that you are in.
You say that you will agree with everything that the Elders say if you meet but remember that your husband will either be there listening to it all or the Elders will tell him what you said.
If they ask you about the blood issue or the card and you lie, your husband will know and you would need to consider the problems this might cause.
However, unfortunately, there might be a bigger problem and that is to do with your daughter. You say that you would do anything for your family.
I don't think you said whether your daughter was baptized or not. If you actively support her from not attending meetings then this is going to potentially take things to a different level.
You might talk to your daughter privately but if she takes a stand herself not to attend and you support it, how will your husband feel about this? He might accept it but when he is confronted about it by the other elders then he might tell them that you are allowing it and basically, he can't fight you both. If he hasn't already been stood down as an elder then this might be another catalyst. But the Elders will want to talk to you and they will now have (what they think) to be just cause to df you. They could potentially have their 'two witnesses', your daughter and your husband.
I haven't been through this situation and I might be wrong about it but I believe that if someone is just trying to fade or become inactive it is easier to do but when there are other people affected by your actions or you actively encourage/support another person not to attend then the situation is different.

What Should the Minimum Wage Be (USA)?
by Village Idiot induring the gop debates donald trump said that american’s “wages [are] too high” and later said “that having a low minimum wage is not a bad thing for this country” (7:25)..

During the GOP debates Donald Trump said that American’s “wages [are] too high” and later said “that having a low minimum wage is not a bad thing for this country” (7:25).
It is very difficult to find a solution but if Donald thinks that wages are too high and his answer is to have a lower minimum wage then I would put it to him - why don't we set a maximum wage? Say $100 per hour?
