I would ask the person exactly how this reproach was occurring. If justified, I would agree, if not I would explain why. -

Does anyone think Jehovah is protecting the org. despite all the talk about THE ARC ?
by tor1500 ini've been thinking this for a while.
even before the arc scandal.

Most sins are crimes.
No they're not. You then proceeded to list a couple that, under most circumstances, are not a crime - adultery and lying.
When government mandates the reporting of crimes or sins by the church to the police it means (if you can think just a little bit -but try) that government does not allow the church to exist because the church is all about sin and repentance (spiritual help) .
The Church is not all about sin and repentance, it is about people grouping together to worship God.
What on earth are you talking about when you state that the Government doesn't allow the Church to exist when it imposes mandatory reporting. Church's still operate in places where mandatory reporting currently exist.
Could you please stop all your name calling and belittling of people?

Fisherman - WT must obey the law but they have always proclaimed that they must obey God as ruler rather than men. That is something that they have died for. And they mean business. Caesar will deal with the WT -not you buddy, no matter how much you hate them. That is what the judicial fact finding process is all about. The Courts there in Australia are dealing with the WT and it don't seem to me that they have any interest in injustice. RC means business too. Let them handle it chief. -And re-read my posts.
This is not the first time that the WT has been under legal attack. Read aboutIf it was just left up to the RC/Caesar to work all this out they would have been led up the garden path by the WTBTS. Who do you think told them that they had relevant internal documents missing, such as the Branch Instruction Manual or that GB member Geoffrey Jackson would be an important witness (and was in Australia) and much more information that they were not initially aware of? Your saying that it is none of their business, the RC doesn't see it that way.

Overlapping Generation
by pandorasbox1914 inthe september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.
his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .
no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

TheListener - The fact that my wife believes this and tries to teach it to others in her rare field service outings amazes me. I can't imagine how insane anyone but an indoctrinated person would think this teaching is.
I would laugh if the whole damn thing wasn't so painfulIt's amazing to see and they are so proud that they have been able to grasp such a complex idea.
The sheep have been more interested in trying to understand the concept that they overlook the most important thing and that is whether the concept is viable in the first place.

Next steps for the Austrailian Royal Commission
by Coded Logic insince the watchtowers' lawyers have (a) failed to make any recommendations to the arc that would bring the watchtower up to date with "best practices and procedures" (b) have failed to submit a proposal for victim restitution (c) have failed to secure funding for a redress scheme and (d) have completely dismissed all the arcs' findings - what's the royal commission's next course of action?.
i see two possibilities:.
) negotiate a settlement with the watchtower.

Smiddy - Whatever happens , it wont be anytime soon , and in the meantime , the abuse of children will continue to occur within the religion , and the Judicial system will be partly to blame for not acting promptly enough , allowing it to drag on for months or even years , by their own admission.
Freddo - It's (final) findings are "fact" I believe as in when the ARC has "found that" something is the case it carries the same weight as a law court finding and its findings can then be used (as a sort of precedent) to be used to support lawsuits for victims of abuse. These are interesting points and although there hasn't been a final finding the Commission has prepared a (preliminary?) submission. This should be of great assistance to any lawyer who is preparing a case (and in negotiations). It will likely hold more strength in Australian Courts but it can be of great benefit to other countries by providing a valuable source of information. Having had a Governing Body member testify makes it even more relevant universally.
Although this is a slow process, I would think there are already benefits that are flowing from the hearings.
Sheperdless - The victim's lawyer could just submit the ARC report as evidence of Watchtower's flawed internal processes. 80% of the task is done for them, which of course dramatically reduces the costs and risks of running a case on behalf of a victim.
You are spot on. There are lawyers like Zalkin who have done a lot of groundwork into how the organization functions but due to the nature of their business, would possibly not share it with other law firms. There are many law firms that are not as well equipped, focused or even have lawyers as qualified/experienced as this law firm does and would be unlikely to ever present a case with as good of a chance of winning. With all this groundwork available to them through the RC, the odds are way more in their favor.

It's a pleasure Arwen and Wannaexit, Son of Thunder did a tremendous job, he's going through some personal hardships but made the extra effort in the hope that others might benefit.
The more these hearings are recorded and shared the more it exposes both TTATT and mindset of Elders.

We give more to the Watchtower Society than for our local KH
by James Jack ini have been doing the accounts for our local congregation now for 3 years.
i just thought, wow our local expenses total just $500 a month, yet we have an ongoing expense each month of $600 for the kh expansion work(ie:world wide work), $60 for the traveling overseer insurance and $54 for the local kingdom hall insurance, in addition to the operating committee expense of $525.. so, our one congregation sends $714 a month plus what the publishers contribute towards the world wide work usually between $600 to $700 per month.
in other words, we are at least sending, for our little congregation of 75 publishers, $1314 a month!

Most JWs have been conditioned on the idea that HQ needs their money to support the printing work as well as missionaries/special pioneers.
What the organization has managed to do in the last few years is reduce both these provisions significantly but inculcate a new way of thinking in the minds of the average JW, making them believe that even more money is needed than before.
It is amazing how they have been able to achieve this without any physical proof that more money is needed rather than less.
