  Who Picks The Governing Body?

  hey everyone,.

  just a simple straight forward question on exactly what the process is.

  if a gb member died tomorrow, do the remaining ones choose who gets to be next?.

  Out of the current 7 GB members, I believe only one (Morris) has had children. These guys are appointed leaders and have had no experience in raising children.

  What she did was bad but you forgave her, I think it is disgusting that the elders disfellowshipped her and subjected her to shunning. This must have been extremely hard for her to deal with and for you to watch.
  You've got every reason to think little of the Elders, it seems all the trouble you have had to deal with has had an elder involved.

  It amazes me that you can forgive your wife but the Elders still find her unrepentant.
  Your wife should not be divulging private information to her father, why is she doing this? It seems like she neither trusts you or respects you but maybe she is just a very insecure person (given her confiding to another Elder and seeking support from her father).

  I love how Tony Morris' tight pants talk only made it to pictures and even 16 months on, it is still a problem and given the article has been prepared 6 months in advance, they think it will still be a problem in the future.
  What a pity they didn't show a picture of the Elders counseling a Sister wearing spandex, or even better, spanx.

  so i guess baptism is no longer the "mark for survival".. as a matter of fact, that key aspect of the 'old light' is not even acknowledged in this article.. they are just publishing new understanding without even bothering to explain the full extent of the change, hoping nobody will remember how it was... and they may be right about that..

  Good pick up Londo. The man with the inkhorn used to be the anointed. Now all of the anointed, other than the GB are demoted once again, they are just domestics along with the GC.

  to tout the fact that jesus christ is the head of the congregation is fine... if he was.

  a quick glance at the page in the back of the current study wt seems to say otherwise.

  if you recall, they print up a page at the end of every year with a quick rundown of the articles for the previous year.. surprise!

  They are not embarrassed, in the silver sword Jesus' name is not in the Glossary of Bible Terms whereas Jehovah is and also Jacob and Judah. Satan and Devil are also listed.

  A fresh start

  after the worst introduction i could ever make on the forum i would like to reintroduce myself and make a fresh start on the forum and hopefully over time i will be able to redeem myself.

  i have changed my user name which was over dramatic and ridiculous in the cold light of day but for transparency and to show i am not trying to hide anything i have adapted the original name and it now has a more positive feel.

  after reading a lot of posts on this forum i am feeling more optimistic about my future.
