  It's probably more about protecting the pedo's who are in positions, like Elders and MS'. If they have a rule that prohibits abusers from going out in field service it would look very strange if these men are serving in positions. We know there are a number because of the report on the Australian Royal Commission website. There are a number that have been identified by them, due to their own two witness rule, or confession and have not been legally convicted.

  public information on the financial situation of the watchtower society is limited.

  Judicial Committees should have an option to be public

  thinking back to how they went from votes by the congregation under russels time to private closed doors in rutherfords time so as to not waste time, etc, of other members.

  if it really wasn't to hide things from the org, it would have an option for the person it's against to have it open to the public.

  a time announced for any members or the person to bring any they want to attend.

  Shunned by family

  my fiancé is an ex-jehovah’s witness.

  when he was 18 years old, his 17 year old brother was killed in an accident.

  his parents having previously lost an infant daughter were understandably distraught and were therefore highly susceptible to an organisation which seemed to be able to supply definitive answers where more mainstream religion seemed to fail them..

  I was hoping that I might be able to be a liaison between my fiancé’s mother and my fiancé, but having spoken to his mother this morning, I am not sure how welcome that will be. She said that I might be able to call her every six months or so and that it is all scripturally based

  You could continue to try to go down this track. There is no reason scripturally why she can't talk to you often. You have never been a JW and those rules do not apply to you. You could tactfully ask her about this, as well as expressing your desire to get to know her better
