Generation expiry date?

how long will it take for a jw to see that even the overlapping generation is wrong?.

the org waited and waited to see if their interpretation of it came true.

those alive in 1914 would still be alive obviously it didn't and jws have to believe in an overlapping generation.

All the current members of the Governing Body are in this second lot of the overlapping generation. With their current interpretation, conveniently they will not need to declare it as a wrong interpretation because they will all have to be dead in order for this to be obvious.

Is this the last chance for inactive and df'd ones?

hi all, just wondering if there's anything going around about the elders receiving instruction from the society to give inactive ones and disfellowshipped ones one last chance to come back?

i ask because i have a still in family member that i received a message from, and urging me to go back.

the elders are apparently saying there is no time left.

Latest Metal Detecting Find

now the harvest is underway up north i can get out for a walk with the metal detector in the evening.

i am lucky to live on a historic rural estate and i have permission from the landowner to detect.. this is a coin that popped up last night.

it was only about 2 inches deep and had been tumbling around in the plough soil for the last 750 years.. it is a silver penny of king henry iii.

the org successfully employs this strategy by regurgitating previous watchtower articles into bite-size chunks, and presenting it as a "spiritual starter" to the day for the faithful to swallow.

It's been regurgitated from the Watchtower 2014 9/15 which identifies this group as the anointed ones and the final paragraph states

<<If we want to be protected during the great tribulation, we must accept that God has a people on earth today and that he has organized them into congregations. We must take sides with Jehovah’s people and stay close to our local congregation. Just like the psalmist, may we say with all our heart: “Salvation belongs to Jehovah. Your blessing is upon your people.”—Psalm 3:8.>>

The so called 'anointed' have become mediators and replaced Jesus. They use Psalm 3:8 to explain that the 'other sheep' must stay in their organized local congregations because God's blessing is upon his anointed. The anointed are not even credited with organizing JWs into their individual congregations, they say God has done this but in reality this has only happened through the final authority of the Governing Body.

Are the Jehovah's Witnesses really false prophets, perhaps being mentally manipulated by the Watchtower Corporation ? ?

there is a lot of public scrutiny going on these days about the jw religion particularly on the inter - net.

one of the posed questions which gets debated and discussed quite often, are the jws false prophets instigated to preach a tainted commercialized gospel under the direction of the executive leaders of the watchtower corporation ?

these focused men who are responsible for creating the core doctrines of this organization.

I'm having a discussion with a JW on Youtube and their latest comment was this -

<<just reading the Bible on my own I can tell with the outbreak of WWI when peace was first taken away from the whole earth and all the following calamitous global upheavals that's been happening since then, must be the end times period Christ spoke about in the Olivet discouses>>

Rather than going into a more involved response, I kept it simple and as he was explaining that reading the Bible had ultimately convinced him that 1914 was correct, I replied

<<We know, beyond doubt, that it could not have been 1914 because Jesus also told us that ' this generation would not pass away until all these things occurred'.>>

I'm interested to see if he will respond with the overlapping interpretation, especially after trying to convince me that he wasn't relying on the opinions of the GB.

Good points Konceptual, maybe the Elders saw him as a problem or even knew more about something from his past and were very co-operative in assisting the police.

It would appear they went well beyond their duty when they also advised Police of the following

<<Lindhorst later confessed to his elders at the Jehovah's Witnesses Church, according to court records, telling them he was not turned on by adult women.>>

Thanks Fisherman but the credit for picking up on the story goes to a JW on Youtube who posted a link to it to support the idea of clergy confidentiality.

Nothings come of it yet, it is only a strategy of the defense party, pretty much like the JW org. uses it to their benefit in cases when they can.
