It would be interesting to know if they are going to hand the householder the No. 1 2018 public edition of the Watchtower, before or after they give their message of judgement?

November 13, 2017 TO ALL BOE IN THE US Re: Making the Best Use of Our Kingdom Halls

The letter says the video will explain the reasons behind the recent changes. I wonder how open they will be this time.
They don't really explain why they need to sell Kingdom Halls other than this 'equalising'. It may be that a number of JWs are seeing this as a reason why they don't need to donate as much since the organisation has done all the research and is getting money from the sale of Kingdom Halls as well as the surplus funds that were in the congregations accounts.

Another reason Watchtower may be hurting financially
by shepherdless ini don't think anyone else has raised this point.
below i set out the case that the jw demographic in usa has a steadily decreasing combined income, and as a consequence, has less money to donate.
not only is the flock not growing, the flock is producing less wool for the borg to fleece.

An interesting topic Sheperdless. It looks like Inform Ant has picked up on it on Youtube.

J.F. Rutherford, Communism and Satan
by MacHislopp injust to share with you, the following:
w50 8/15 p. 251 answering the foes of his government ***
5 we challenge that british jesuit to harmonize, if he can, his accusation with the public declaration by j. f. rutherford, then president of the watch tower society, from londons royal albert hall, sunday, september 11, 1938. delivering his speech face the facts, which was beamed by radio and carried by direct wire to more than 50 cities in the united states, canada, great britain, australia, new zealand and tasmania, and also broadcast by a transcontinental chain of 118 u. s. radio stations,

I've bumped this thread because of another Watchtower the Organization wrote about their stand against Communism. It went much further than just writing about it and explains how JWs made a public declaration against it at assemblies around the World. Watchtower leaders, including Fred Franz made these declarations known on behalf of all JWs publicly through radio presentations.
This is from the Watchtower 1957 8/1 and is centered on Franz's visit to the Phillipines -
The public relations servant arranged for newsmaking interviews. So, on the morning of the assembly’s opening day, Tuesday, January 15, Brother Franz, accompanied by this servant, went to two radio stations for engagements. The first one, DZFM (The People’s Station), is owned by the Philippine government. The program director was very friendly. Despite not feeling too well he graciously kept his appointment for the interview. He even canceled a thirty-minute paid program over the radio in order to accommodate the vice-president of the Watch Tower Society. The half-hour interview was “right off the cuff” and was broadcast direct from the studio. The program director was pleased with the information of public interest that Brother Franz gave in replies to many questions, especially the stand of Jehovah’s witnesses toward godless communism. The Philippine Islands have no diplomatic relations with the Soviet government of Russia....
For the evening’s features the crowd increased appreciably, from 5,768 in the afternoon to 6,353 now. The vice-president’s talk to them on backing up Jehovah’s visible organization proved to be most timely as well as giving them a viewpoint many had not had previously. This gave them a basis for better understanding and more fully appreciating the climactic feature that followed, the presentation of the special resolution, which, since early last summer, had been undergoing adoption by assemblies of Jehovah’s witnesses around the globe. The matter, presented first in English, was translated simultaneously by interpreters to the speaker’s right and left into Ilocano and Tagalog. When the speaker raised his hand for the vote to be expressed upon the motion before the assembled 6,353, there was enthusiastic applause with the viva voce adoption of this courageous, forthright resolution against Communist persecution,...
The summary of the previous day’s program, especially the special resolution against communism, was presented at those dialect meetings. This goes against everything they claim about being neutral.
Someone over at Reddit had started a thread saying that they could not access a 1957 article on voting on their version of the Watchtowers library on CD.
They no full well why the Russian Government has serious problems about their organization and are responsible for inciting persecution in the past. It may well explain their continued ban in China.
This must be another reason why JW org only goes back to the year 2000. -

ExJW responsible for calling the police at the Warwick protest, NOT Watchtower
by Diogenesister inaccording to the great apostate, who spent time with police officers at the protest, they informed him that it was not watchtower who called the police in but another exjw who briefly attended the protest and subsequently disapproved of the protesters methods...claiming they were being "violent".. i find this very difficult to understand.
anyone who saw the bravery of the women who stood up in the kingdom hall and told the story of their abuse and rape could not fail to feel compassion and offer their support.. i know there are posters on this forum who disagree with me.they worry that such protests play into watchtowers "persecution" complex, and naturally i understand their position.. but really, how long do we have to fear their power over their members, and through their members, us.. many jw's simply do not know the extent of the paedophile problem,.they do not know about malawi, the un, the bloodless surgery guinea pig deaths ( thank you orphan crow), the suicides....i simply don't believe that protests don't work....if there are enough of them, and they are organized, and most of all if we are united...we shall make a difference, and that difference may be your loved one.. https://youtu.be/ffhr9onbdrk.

I wonder if this was the same guy that called the park rangers a few days before saying there was going to be thousands of protesters at that park on the Sunday and was worried about them?
He was so worried he turned up at the park for a short while and has done a You tube protesting the protesters. His YouTube Chanel is Leonardo Bonacci. The video is so boring I had to double the speed to get through it and even then it was too slow.
His views and written comments border on paranoia. He's an ex Bible Student.
It was no surprise to see that he's a mate of Cedars. When cedars did a recent book tour in the USA they caught up and toured Warwick HQ together. I don't think they did anything in the way of activism whilst there.

"we would never deliberately distort a quotation"
by ttdtt inomg my head exploded!in this months broadcast - splian goes off on how much care the wt in making sure its facts are correct, and how they make sure their quotes are not taking from people who have a bad reputation or have an agenda.

It doesn't take much work to find how easily they distort the truth.
This is from the June 2002 Watchtower
The image of a yogi sleeping on a bed of nails or walking on hot coals may appear to be a hoax to some and a joke to others. But these are common occurrences in India, as is the practice of standing on one leg while staring directly at the sun for hours and breath control that allows a person to be buried in sand for long periods of time. In June 1995, The Times of India reported that a three-and-a-half-year-old girl lay in a trance as a car weighing more than 1,600 pounds [750 kg] was allowed to run over her abdomen. To the amazement of the crowd, when she awoke she was totally unharmed. The report added: “It was sheer yogic power.”
Without a doubt, no normal human is capable of performing any of these tasks. Hence, a Christian must ask: Of what are these feats an indication? Are they from Jehovah God, “the Most High over all the earth,” or are they from some other source? (Psalm 83:18)
In order to make a claim of spiritism, they state that walking on coals or lying on a bed of nails was not able to be accomplished by a normal human man. This was said in 2002 when it was well known how these feats were accomplished. It is just a bit of theatre to pretend a person is in a trance.
As for quoting an Indian newspaper, how reliable was that source?

JW.ORG turning into an evangelical clone
by Pistoff ini clicked this link to the november 2017 tvjw video, in it they defend their 2 witness policy, though, gutlessly, they do not mention it in the context of child sexual abuse.. anyway, check out the christian jehovian song at 57:06, ugh, makes me nauseous.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksz0qiftsok&feature=youtu.be&t=53m25s.

They don't want the JWs faith in them to be 'easily shaken' so they are trying to have them believe just how accurate they are with everything they say.

2 witness rule
by punkofnice ini'm gobsmacked.. the 7 rock star popes in warwick know darned well that the 2 witness rule allows child rapists to get away with their crime.. geoff (whacko jacko) jackson was at the australian royal commission and should have seen first hand what a vile man made law the 2 witness rule is.. my question is, why do they still insist on this pervert protecting rule?.
i know it's a highly controlling cult but still...........................stuff my old boots, mate!.
the above is more a rhetorical question.

Listener
Their two witness rule is really a two eyewitnesses rule in most cases, which include allegations of child abuse. There is a huge difference between these two.
They claim there are 8 million witnesses to Jehovah but there is not 8 million eyewitnesses to Jehovah. They have a number of reasons why they believe that they can claim themselves as being credible witnesses and none of them are because they have physically seen Jehovah. Yet they will not apply the same principles to a victim.

no pictures of Kingdom Hall remodels???
by Lynnie ini'm following an old friend on instagram who's an uber elder and he does lots of work on kh's and has gone to warwick on his own dime to help with the construction.
on his instagram post he says " i can't post pictures of the kh remodel but i can post pics of jack daniels that i had afterwards" or some such.
why aren't they allowed to take pics of remodels?
-

My guess is that they don't want those in the know or in relevant businesses estimating the real cost of a remodel rather than the watchtowers overinflated costings.

When did "The Last Days" of JW Organization Begin? Will This Generation See It End?
by steve2 ina growing discourse on this forum has been around what "the end" means.
as jws, many here spent varying proportions of our lives waiting for the end when an unsettling realization was that the end that approaches is more likely to be from old age than the world's end.
through the centuries, group after group, has claimed it has "inside" information on the end of the world, drawing in the desperate-for-comfort like moths to flames.

Possibly from the year when they started going backwards. Ending the home book study, reducing the hours for pioneer work and the length of the Sunday meeting.
