  The Watchtower provided the documents on the condition that they were placed under a protective order, meaning that Zalkin could not discuss their contents or share them with law enforcement agencies, reporters or the public.

  That is so disturbing that they deliberately prevent a third and independent party from reporting cases to police.

  Columbia, SC and Arleta, CA members - I need your help

  my 18-year-old daughter in columbia, sc ran away to arleta, ca to move in with jw family.

  they are living together with the mother's permission in her house along with 10 other family members.

  she is surrounded by jws 24 hours a day, seven days a week.. is there anyone in the columbia area who would be willing to help me - maybe meet for a cup of coffee or facetime.

  There's a lot of this that doesn't make any sense, it's no wonder that there are a number of posters having a problem with this and coming to conclusions that you don't like. As I mentioned before, seek professional help, they'll be able to get to the bottom of all this and give you advise.

  Have you sent your daughters ID papers and SS documents to her yet? They are hers and she needs them. How do you expect her to finish school there if she can't ID herself? More importantly, you say she's got no one to turn to if she wants to get out of her situation. Other than it being highly likely that at least one out of the ten she is living with will help how can she get anywhere without her ID papers. Are you really wanting to help her or to hinder her?

  some are pretty large in size,so if someone could reduce their size and get them on youtube be myguest.

  I've had a listen to the Accounting Video. It appears it may have been presented in 2016.
  
  About 54 minutes in is a presentation by an LDC member.
  
  At that time he says that there were (under the USA Branch I'm assuming)
  
  48 Assembly Halls

  6221 Kingdom Halls

  536 Residences
  
  1 Bible School Study
  
  4 former branch facilities
  
  on 6,379 total locations
  
  9,127 total buildings which include outbuildings attached to those listed above
  
  Interestingly, he says that they can only speculate as to the reasons why all these changes are taking place. We might think it's to make available an expansion for new ones or to train JWs to work together for the benefit of future times. But he makes it clear that we can only speculate as to why God is directing them in this way. In other words, they don't know and the GB has given no indication as to why they are doing this.
  
  He also said that there is a Master Plan but the Branch has ownership of this and they expect that they may put it in print for them at some stage.
  
  This is what they had planned for the next five years -

  2017 20 new halls 72 renovations

  2018 35 new halls 150 renovations

  2019 40 new halls 250 renovations

  2020 40 new halls 300 renovations

  2021 40 new halls 300 renovations
  
  An earlier speaker stated how everyone needed to be humble and allow themselves to be molded as if they were clay in a potters hand. The GB's direction was doing the molding and to think they know better or not allow themselves to follow the direction meant that they were not allowing God's hands to mold them.

  i guess if the jdubs have no clue how long a generation is they also wouldn't know how long a time period the word "soon" refers too.. 60 years ago my mother would hammer into my brain how soon the great tribulation was.

  soon jehovah would destroy the wicked.

  then a few years later there was no need to go to college because the end was so soon.

  watchtower article often introduce a point that has no merit with words such a "undeniably.".

  for instance the watchtower 2014 august 15 page 10 says:.

  "jehovah undeniably blesses the preaching work of christian women and supports them in times of trial.

  What is even more frustrating about the use of these words, they can often have more than one meaning, which the Watchtower knows and uses to deceive the reader.

  It it comes down to, from whose perspective these words are meant but the Watchtower's intention is to suggest that they are true.

  Sounds like Tania has presented a professional report by listing so much detail about the organisation that probably most JWs in Portugal don't know but can easily confirm to be correct. This helps to make her sound credible and that she has done her homework.

  It's good that you are listening to the advice of others and you should consider getting some professional therapy to help you both deal with this and to understand what has gone on now and in the past.

  Having been in an abusive situation, it is much better that your daughter is living with 12 other people. An abuser, particularly one that is possessive behaves much worse if in an isolated situation. If this boyfriend is dangerous, he has others to answer to and that includes his own mother, which in all likelihood, would mean that he tries not to do anything to make her think badly of him.

  i consider myself an amateur watchtower history buff.

  i have always read that maria frances ackley russell, charles taze russell's first and only wife, went to a teacher training college and was a teacher for a number of years before marrying russell.

  but, i have never seen proof that she truly did finish college and became a certified teacher.

  I read in a previous thread on this site that she claimed primary authorship of volume 4 of the Studies. Whether true or not I have no idea. Honestly, volume 4 was I thought, tge weakest of the six books. Link
