It costs money to produce new literature, it has to be translated and at least a certain amount has to be put in print. There's also the cost of having the writing committee to come up with it in the first place. It's produced at a loss.

No new releases? How are the r&f taking this?
by purrpurr inis it true that there's been no new releases at this summer's convention?
if so it will be the first convention in decades perhaps ever to not produce at least a new tract.. how are the r&f explaining this to eachother?
surely they must have noticed the absence?

Mike and Kim updated thier Numbers and it looks like the Borg is watching.
by Crazyguy inthier latest video they seemed to fix thier number issues and have made it look as though the borg only has about a half a million member now in the us.
also it looks as though the borg is watching because the borg has now made an adjustment on their website concerning their missing kh.

Their maths is still wrong and they seemed to have accused those that mentioned it in their first video as being Watchtower supporters.
The above link to reddit has a very good post by Terry Lawton who has got made a sound calculation (as far as I can tell). However, there may a flaw in it and that is, he is assuming that the average number of seats in a Kingdom Hall is 100 and I would think that it is more than that.

Since it is so obvious where the growth is, undoubtedly there is much more work to do there. Land and building is cheap.
The Governing Body should set themselves as examples and move to where the need is great. -

Questions need to be answered
Can the cooking process start with cold water or hot, is lukewarm acceptable.
Why do people insist on defilying it by adding salt?
Where did it come from, some say it evolved from flour, some say eggs and others say water?
Most importantly, does it make you fat?

Has anyone got a good recipe for curry, for a curry novice?
by Diogenesister ini really enjoy cooking but one thing i've never mastered is curry.
i've tried a few online recipes but they haven't turned out too well.
there's nothing better than a tried and tested, handed down ( or over!

Deliah Smith, an English cook. She is my absolute favorite cooking instructor. She is very detailed, gives excellent advice and is so easy to follow.
She was never featured much on Australian Television as far as I am aware but I've been able to watch her online.

I love curry also and having travelled to a few Asian countries it is overwhelming how many different curry variations there are.
For instance, the Thais use a lot of coconut cream/milk in theirs and it is one of my favourites when cooking at home. The Malaysians use a fish sauce/dried fish in their base and it makes for a strong aftertaste. The Chinese use a lot of whole dried Chilli. Then, of course, is the ever popular Indian curries. You just have to look at an Indian menu to see a lot of variations.
Whatever recipe you have, it's all about getting your flavour balance right. You need to taste the food as you're cooking. Whatever recipe you are using I've learnt that there is often one important ingredient that needs to be added and that is sugar. It tends to break down any slightly bitter or sour taste and brings the whole dish together. It doesn't need much, maybe a spoon or less. The ideal sugar is palm sugar but soft brown sugar is also good.
We are spoilt for choice in our supermarkets today. Forty years ago, the staple was Keens curry powder. One of our favourites was curried sausages and even my kids could polish off a whole pot full even though they disliked curries in general.

Why can't Scarlett Johansson play a transgender character?
by LoveUniHateExams inscarlett johansson was cast to play a transgender role in rub & tug.. recently she pulled out.
i don't know whether she jumped or was pushed but trans activists, despite claiming to represent only 0.3% of the population, have quite a powerful voice.. do they want a trans actor to play the trans role, is that it?.
if scarlett johansson shouldn't play a trans role, does that mean a trans actor shouldn't play a cis role?.

Her actions have generated a lot of publicity and maybe this was intentional. Personally, I still have no interest in the film.

Ignore the nasty comments Newly Enlightened, you guys are great and I love your enthusiasm.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you might have got your maths all wrong. You were using the number of KHs in your calculations but you should have been using the number of congregations since there are many more congregations than KHs.

It will be interesting Vanderhoven, please keep us updated.
She was quick in arranging a bible (book) study with you. I wonder how long it will last before they decide (judge) that you do not have the right heart condition after all.

The Mormons seem to handle it okay. They have young adults manning their phones and chat site.
