  Counter Productive Witnessing Questions

  a part of me would like to ask jws the following questions...but i know it would be rude and counter-productive.

  so i also know i can expect some flack.. how well do you know your organization's history?

  1. when, according to the wts did god promise to usher in a safe and secure new world order before those who witnessed the events of 1914 pass away?

  Thanks Nathan Natas, that's some read. I guess they've just progressed to putting their words into movies these days, picturing the dead alive in paradise running into the arms of their loved ones.
  
  I hope they have their house on a huge plot of land because they're going to need it for when their parents want to add on rooms for their parents and so on.
  
  Then there is just the real creepy stuff like -

  Their experience as undertakers prepared them to become decorators with very little difficulty.

  No longer gods channel of communication?

  smurf girl, i believe is her youtube name, an exjw with a youtube channel.

  she claims that if you go all over the jw.borg website you will no longer be able to find any mention of the organization or the fds being gods channel of communication.

  so what’s your thoughts on why the change?

  There has been no change and SmurfGirl did mention that their website minus the online library was a dumbed down version of their beliefs as that was what most of the public would see.

  Its amusing to see SmurfGirl comment on their channel of communication when she claims that as a little girl she was used as a channel by governing body members for a number of years.

  They are very good questions and I don't see them as being rude questions to ask a JW.

  Do you know where I can read about point number 9? I knew that Rutherford claimed that Beth Sarim were for the faithful old but hadn't heard about other JWs adding rooms to their houses.

  ok, so it’s not a jw prophetic prediction, but one from our “cousins” the mormons (or as the latest president of their church russel m nelson prefers ‘the church of jesus christ of latter day saints’).

  i reckon they will drop their ban on caffeine soon.

  they will change their long held beliefs about tea and coffee being wrong.. watch this space!

  Like the JWs, some Mormons question their beliefs and leave because of absurd teachings.

  I spoke to some Mormons regarding their tea and coffee ban. They did not know why it was banned and it wasn't the caffeine as they are allowed chocolate and coke. However, they said that their leaders had been given this instruction from God so they strictly followed it.

  I talked to my hem about polygamy and they said that at one time it was allowed for a short period, they didn't know why but they trusted that God had his reasons for it. God conveyed this to their leaders.

  My understanding is that they don't vote on these matters but Mormons are taught that they are conveyed to the leaders from God. In JW terms, they are inspired. With such power, it is surprising that they don't change more things.

  I wonder if they'll get rid of their magic underwear as well. After all they wouldn't want to get stubborn coffee stains on them.

  a little back story.

  i have been working so hard to build my faith this year, and i am finally at the point where i am beginning to trust god and i want to build an unbreakable relationship with him.

  “Do You Know the Time?” From WT Sept 2018

  there is a one page article in the current wt study mag, sept 2018 pg 22 with the title “do you know the time?”.

  in that article it describes a number of different ways you can say the time is 1:30. it goes on to say “there are even places where that same time could be expressed as “half two,” meaning 30 minutes before two”.

  what i would like to know is this, where in the world does “half 2” mean 1:30?

  on tv.jw.org kenneth cook jr. discusses how important it is to be honest when applying for special assignemts.

  he mentions health and viewing pornography.

  those who viewed pornography during the last year should not apply.

  It is so creepy that they want only people that are close to perfect, physically, mentally and spiritually at Bethel.

  They are hypocrites for asking such questions on the application form and having the individual sign it. But when it comes to appointing an Elder, a man that is given judicial powers over the congregation and deals with very intimate problems, there is no such requirement.

  Pure Worship restored only for English-speaking?

  gb recent presents new book "based ezekiel" - pure worship restored.this book also provide into jw-borg site and jw-lib too, but only english.as examle, spanish - it`s second largest language into us and america continents, but has no translated into it.do you have any idea why this could happen?

  they hide something, or just did not have time to translate (but previously published in all major languages at the same time).

  Good question. They have been making large reductions in their workforce, including the branches but they have been buying properties specifically for translation work. It may be that their focus on what can be translated at any given time is severely restricted.

  Have they completed the translation of their new, new world translation in Spanish?

  Given their limitations, they may only have enough translators to work on the magazines and ministry work books as well as all their video's.

  The fact is, they are producing less and less material, this means not only less printing but less translating. They continue to struggle with what they are producing.

  Another possibility is that the English audience is the test audience to see how interested they are and how acceptable they are of any new material before they decide to expand on production.
