Claiming that a Court has acted unlawfully is very disrespectful, to say the least.

Watchtower appeals in Montana.
by lastmanstanding ini won’t steal barb’s thunder, but has anyone had a chance to peruse the appeal that watchtower launched yesterday?.
watchtower’s main argument is that stuff was said in confidence with confidentiality surrounding that confidence and they are confident that clergy confidentiality which is in confidence is confidential.. in short, it ‘was a secret and should stay a secret.’.
omg.. and watchtower claims that this verdict “violates the constitution of the usa”.. i wish the jury could tack on another $50m and include watchtower lawyers are to be hanged.. i just had to say something.

Page 7 of the Court document states "Jehovah's Witnesses believe confession of sin is essential to salvation and confidentiality promotes confession".
It takes a Court case against them for them to be very clear in what they really teach.

I wonder, their practice of being secretive may be legal under the law but surely, if their practice causes harm then they should be accountable for that.
As an example, it is legal for a person to drive below the speed limit but if their driving is wreck less and causes an accident then they are liable for the damages.

Please don't give them new ideas!
by Lost in the fog inspotted this question on another site.
my first thought was "please don't give the local elders another excuse to badger those leaving.
" mind you we haven't signed non-disclosure agreements like this person did.. https://www.cultnews101.com/2019/05/can-i-be-sued-by-former-cult-i-was.html?m=1 .

They wouldn't because that would easily identify them as a secret society and another identifier as being a cult, all in writing.
It would also scare off newbies.

'Organisation is our mother'
by EdenOne ini need your help please, for an article i'm writing.. i believe that quite recently in the 2010's, possibly at one of the annual meetings of the watchtower, there was one speech (or was it in a publication?
in a broadcast?
) where it was stated that the "organisation is our mother".

I think there was a convention demonstration a number of years ago, where an Elder was talking to a Brother about his study and was telling him how important it was to tell his study that he must come to the organisation. They used the term mother organisation.
It may have something to do with this thread discussion
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/230590/our-spiritual-mother
The demonstration stood out because it seemed that they were referring to the earthly organisation as being referred to as 'mother'. There was some discussion on here about it at the time.

This has got to make dedicated JWs puzzled and confused.
When it comes to the preaching work, the organization has encouraged JWs to break laws on numerous occasions and some are recorded in the Yearly Textbooks. For example, banned literature is hidden and even brazenly imported into Countries where it is banned.
It wouldn't surprise me if the organization said that this is a sign that the ministry work is slowly coming to an end.
It's interesting to see that the latest Watchtower tells JWs to witness to their relatives even if they are negative towards them. -

They can't help themselves. The letter says that from feedback from they have received 'it seems' some Elders haven't realised that their Elder's messages contains information just for Elders.
What do they mean by saying 'it seems'? They must be making this up. Most likely because their feedback is their own computer reporting system that shows which Elders have opened their messages and not because some Elders have told them so.

It brings back to mind the pictures of the elderly woman with nothing in her cupboard but still putting money in the contribution box.
Then there's the following video that they showed at a Convention of an Asian family. The mother was single (widowed?) and caring for three young children. They are so poor, all she can afford to feed them is a bowl of rice. She is worried financially and has the Elders visit whose only comfort are words. They then spend their family worship to make cards for the 'friends' in the congregation. One of the children explains how they can still give by putting 'a little in the contribution box EACH WEEK' along with cleaning and preaching.
All this brings them joy, as they sit down to their normal meal of white rice.
It's so sad to know that rather than collecting funds to help the poor, like the family in the video, they are telling the poorest of the poor to give.
