He went to work at Bethel in 1943 according to a 2010 Watchtower. If he died at 94 or 95 years old that would have made him 18 or 19 when he arrived at Bethel. His whole life, not knowing anything different.

JW Leaks (Steven Unthank) has listed on his website two annual reports that the Austrailan Bethel were required to lodge. Interestingly, they were one of only 11 organizations required to do so.
There are a few interesting claims that the Watchtower makes, this is from the 2019 report that they wrote -5. When elders learn of an accusation of child abuse, they immediately consult with the branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses to ensure compliance with child abuse reporting laws. (Romans 13:1) Even if the elders have no legal duty to report an accusation to the authorities, the branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses will instruct the elders to report the matter if a minor is still in danger of abuse or there is some other valid reason
Here the Watchtower state that they may report the crime to authorities even though there is no legal requirement to do so. It is the Branch that decides whether this should be done or not.
What is a valid reason to report to authorities? Well they say that they get to decide that but in reality, there is a valid reason to report every alleged case of child abuse. It could be argued that they have just made themselves liable beyond doubt when they choose not to report because they have said in this report that they will inform authorities when there is a valid reason.7. Congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses do not separate children from their parents for the purpose of instruction or other activities. (Ephesians 6:4) For example, our congregations do not provide or sponsor orphanages, Sunday schools, sports clubs, day-care centers, youth groups, or other activities that separate children from their parents.
They are happy to straight out lie. Non related JWs give bible studies to minors. Non related JWs also take minors witnessing without their parents being in full supervision.10. Child abuse is a serious sin. If an alleged abuser is a member of the congregation, the elders conduct a Scriptural investigation. This is a purely religious proceeding handled by elders according to Scriptural instructions and is limited to the issue of membership as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A member of the congregation who is an unrepentant child abuser is expelled from the congregation and is no longer considered one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. (1 Corinthians 5:13) The elders’ handling of an accusation of child abuse is not a replacement for the authorities’ handling of the matter.—Romans 13:1-4.
Here's another admission which is astounding. They claim that the JC is LIMITED to the issue of membership as a JW. Their publications state otherwise. This is in the Watchtower 92 7/1"If a sin (or sins) has been committed, the purpose of the righteous judges will be to help the sinner to readjust, to understand the error of his way, to repent, and thus to be snatched from “the snare of the Devil.” It will require “art of teaching,” “instructing with mildness.” (2 Timothy 2:24-26; 4:2) What if the sinner then recognizes that he has sinned, is truly stabbed to the heart, and asks Jehovah for forgiveness? (Compare Acts 2:37.) If the committee is convinced that he sincerely wants help, generally there would be no need to disfellowship him.—See The Watchtower, January 1, 1983, page 31, paragraph 1."
13. This document is available upon request to members of the congregation. It is reviewed at least once every three years.
I wonder how many JWs even know that the document even exists.2019 report

Like I said, they follow the laws of the land. At the time of the first incident the laws protected all confessions made to religious leaders. A religious leader would have been breaking a law to report to the police without the family consent.
The family also didn’t report it to authorities back then either. She states that the family didn't report it to the police. This would indicate that it was the victims family that reported the abuse to the Elders.Even if the law protected confessions this was not a confession. It is not a confession when the abused or the family report to the Elders. Only the criminal can make a confession. Therefore, the Elders would not have been breaking any law. For her to claim so sounds more like the tricky talk spun by the Watchtower. You can’t fully believe everything you read on the internet.
Its clear that the JWs are spinning their own stories on the Internet and are easily caught out when you examine what they say. She's right, you can't believe everything you read on the Internet and for that matter, in Watchtower's publications. -

News reports discuss the situation that Russian JWs are fleeing Russia. One news report suggests it is at least 5,000.
That reduction will be reflected by increases in (mainly) other European countries. Finland and Germany are two countries that have been mentioned.

JW Australian Finances
by Attewc ini imagine someone has done this already, but i couldn't find it in a search.
feel free to move to another thread if i'm posting in the wrong one.. i've been watching leah remini's scientology show (eerily very similar psychological traits to jw's) and one episode talked about how australia now requires non-profit organizations to make their finances public, so i decided to look for jw's reports.. link to jw's reports:.

At a guess, their income is going up because they are selling off properties and their expenses are going up because they are sending more money to HQ.
Their liabilities dropped significantly in 2015 probably because they chose to pay off some of their liabilities (loans they took out to then loan out to certain congregations for new Kingdom Halls) rather than send the money to HQ. But since then, HQ has been wanting as much money as it can get so it's happy for the Branch to keep their loans rather than paying them down with the extra money received through sales of Kingdom Halls.

The Faithful and Discreet Slave Just "have" The Truth
by Number 6 inin the late 80's when i was in my late teens i used to with my then wife to be attend a monday night pre-watchtower study at a local elders house.. this guy was revered as very knowledgable and he was scholarly and interesting to listen to; so at the time it was a genuinely enjoyable monday evening spent with oftentimes discussion would veer far of the subject at hand and lasting to well after 11pm some evenings.. this particular night, the subject up for discussion was "the faithful and discreet slave" and how we should be obeying them without question.
right in the middle of the study this elder said as a question not in the wt article; "how do we really know the current fds as lead by the governing body are the real deal.
i mean what actual proof do we have?".

This is what they have to say about themselves in the latest March 2020 Watchtower under the article titled -Love and Appreciation for Jehovah Lead to Baptism
6 Learn to love and support Jehovah’s organization. Jehovah has organized his people into congregations; his Son, Jesus, is the head over them all. (Eph. 1:22; 5:23) Jesus has appointed a small group of anointed men to take the lead in organizing the work that he wants done today. Jesus referred to this group of men as “the faithful and discreet slave,” and they take seriously their responsibility to feed and protect you spiritually. (Matt. 24:45-47) One of the ways the faithful slave helps to care for you is by ensuring that qualified elders are appointed to shepherd you. (Isa. 32:1, 2; Heb. 13:17; 1 Pet. 5:2, 3) The elders are willing to pour themselves out for you, to comfort you, and to help you grow ever closer to Jehovah. But one of the most important things they can do for you is help you teach others about Jehovah.—Eph. 4:11-13.
How are followers supposed to learn to love the Watchtower when so much of what they do is not transparent?
They make the unsubstantiated claim that Jesus has appointed the FDS, who they claim is a small group of anointed men. However, these men are the ones that personally claim they are 'anointed' and nowhere has Jesus quantified that the FDS is either a group or small in number. Neither has Jesus found them to be faithful or discreet, that is a judgement he reserves for a later time.
The article claims that the FDS ensure the appointment of qualified Elders. But wait a minute, Jesus appoints the Governing Body members but who appoints the Elders? The claim that the GB ensure the appointment of qualified Elders can be proven to be false when we look at their own policies on appointing men who have committed serious crimes in the past. -

Thank you Petra and Atlantis.
The application asks the Elders whether the individual has had any recent spiritual difficulties but not the individual. As imperfect humans, who could possibly say that they have no spiritual difficulties? Good thing they leave it up to the Elders to judge.
Its very inconsiderate of the Watchtower to give such little notice as to where JWs will be located, it could be less than one and a half months. Already expensive accommodation becomes even more so the longer you leave booking it.
It looks like they are going to have them actually talk to people and not just stand next to carts.

Pray before sex just like you do for food-W62 3/15
by krismalone inthe governing body has lovingly provided instructions and reminders to couples that they should pray before having sex.
please be obedient and follow the wise counsel from the gb leaders who never stick their noses into other peoples business and are not creepy cult leaders at all....not!.
"had he not created the first human pair so that they could cohabit, planted in them an attraction for each other and then commanded them to "be fruitful and become many"?

They've quoted 1 Timothy 4:3
"They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth"
They love to twist scripture. The first thing they think about when mentioning marriage is sex. They put sex in the forefront of the sheepies minds.
Marriage is an arrangement to be thankful about when you consider the aim is to provide financial and emotional stability as well as a solid support system for the couple and any future children.
Its like saying, be thankful, not for all of the food you are about to partake, but just for the icing on the cake.
