Sunday January 15 is my 76th birthday. I answer some of your questions.
by Terry inhappy birthday 2 me!!.
sunday is my 76th birthday and i know that you want to know how it "feels" to have outlived my usefulness, to have lost my natural beauty (being reduced to wrinkles and flab), and constantly walking into a room not knowing why i'm there.
you also are curious as to how i can continue to find a reason to live since none of my kids think my opinions have any possible value, most of my facebooks friends i wouldn't recognize if i tripped over them on my way into starbucks, and my monthly expenditure on bird treats exceeds u.s. spending on the military.

Are the statistics out yet?
by slimboyfat inisn’t it about time they released the report for the service year?
or have they stopped publishing it?
did they released selected figures at the annual meeting as they usually do, such as the memorial attendance or record number of pioneers?

A poster named DLWOIM prepared these figures on ex JW Reddit and provide staggering information.
So, in the annual report, it says that there are 33 “other lands” that don’t get listed, countries like China and Russia where the JWs work is restricted or under ban. They don’t print the exact number of JWs in each of these countries separately, presumably for the safety of those individual JWs.
But the report does say that there are a total of about 209,000 publishers in those countries as a whole. I wanted to get an idea of what the ratio of JW publishers to population there is, so I set out to tally the population of all these countries. First, I had to cross reference the listed countries against a map of the world and see which countries were missing. I think I ended up figuring out 30 or 31 of the 33 countries. Then I googled the population of each one. I’ll copy and paste my results here:
China 1.412 billion Russia 143.4 million Egypt 109.3 million Saudi Arabia 36 million Iran 88 million Iraq 43 million Libya 6 million Syria 21 million Algeria 44 million Tajikistan 10 million Turkmenistan 6 million North Korea 26 million Eritrea 3.6 million Djibouti 1 million Yemen 33 million Oman 4.5 million UAE 9 million Qatar 2.7 million Bahrain 1.4 million Bhutan .75 million Kuwait 4.25 million Morocco 37 million Tunisia 12.25 million Lebanon 5.5 million Jordan 11 million Mauritania 4.6 million Somalia 17 million Afghanistan 40 million Vietnam 97.5 million Laos 7.4 million
I came up with a total of 2,237,250,000. I then divided that by the 209,000 publishers and got 1 JW for every 10,704 people. That’s right. In a country where the preaching work is restricted or under ban, you’d have to meet almost 11,000 people to possibly come across one JW. And, if you happen to meet that one JW and decide that his or her religion is not for you, you are deserving of everlasting destruction.
That’s the exceeding love of Jehovah for you. And that’s the overwhelming success of the worldwide preaching work of his one true people, filling all the inhabited earth with the good news of his Kingdom.
Edited to add: There are 19 listed countries with ratios that are near as bad or much worse than they 1 in 10,700 ratio. In Pakistan the ratio is one JW for every 209,000 people. In Palestine it’s 1 in every 92,000 people. The whopper is Bangladesh with one JW for every 510,000 people. -

How can this be? Aren’t JWs living “in the final part of the last days, undoubtedly the final part of the final part of the last days, shortly before the last day of the last days.”.
Even in the years approaching 1975 there was more of an urgency.

Lawsuit: I said GB member Barr that my Bethelite stepfather abused me; he did nothing
by Corney inhere's an excerpt from the recent lawsuit deborah hines v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york et al (paragraphs 158-180), one of 29 known cases brought against the org pursuant to the ny child victims act.
what should be kept in mind is that gerrit lösch apparently worked in europe (the austrian branch and eastern europe) at the time when the abuse was allegedly reported to him (not a gb member then).. plaintiff was raised a member of the jehovah’s witnesses.
she primarily attended meetings at various congregations in arizona.

The expression “free from accusation” is rendered from the Greek word a·negʹkle·tos. Commenting on this word, The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology states: “Anenklētos belongs to the legal setting of accusationin court, and connotes behaviour which is irreproachable, against which no accusation can be made.” Thus, a man’s record must be clean before he is appointed an elder; he could not be under reproach, or subject to accusation. And only if he remained free from legitimate accusation could an elder continue in office.—Compare 1 Timothy 3:10.
By settling the legal case, they have hindered any possibility of being free from accusation making those accusations remain. They are JW men in high positions and were given the opportunity to have others bare witness but chose not to. I gather they have removed no accused men from office.

I thought he claimed in his video that he didn't have any relationships with females and satisfied his urges by paying sex workers.
Later he claims he was dating the sex worker in Thailand, meaning he was doing both.

I grew up in Victoria and went to congregations in Dandenong and Ocean Grove. I left shortly after being baptized. That was about 40 years ago.
Since then I've been lucky enough to have lived in Adelaide, Hobart and Perth. Mostly Perth where I am now.
I am so happy that there is now a lot of support for those wanting to leave or who have been dfd. I never knew such loneliness as when I left home as a teenager feeling I had no choice.

In Australia an Arts Degree was chosen by students who were slackers, not interested in anything meaningful and where their parents were eager to support them through Uni. It was a standing joke really.
