It's another way to guilt those who are feeling very low, with sickness or depression, to get out into field service. Keep pushing them and some will get worse.

Mr Fool thanks for the article
"Matt 24:34m 14 Which generation did Jesus mean? He meant the generation of people who were living in 1914." Paradise on earth p 154
They speak for Jesus and proclaim to everyone what Jesus meant, If the rest of the 144,000 really are/were anointed then they should be dancing for joy that they are not considered to be part of feeding the flock.

New Zealand headquarters: Witnesses sell, Elim buys
by Fe2O3Girl inhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/local-news/manukau-courier/9124458/witnesses-sell-elim-buys.
it was the national headquarters for the jehovah's witnesses for 30 years.. but the 7.5ha wattle downs property has now been sold to elim church and could soon house a new christian college.. jehovah's witness minister george gray says advances in technology mean the property is no longer needed for running the church's new zealand and south pacific activities which will now be administered from australia.. elim church bought the property for its growing south auckland congregation and volunteers helped transform the site in just a matter of days.. pastor boyd ratnaraja says the congregation moved in on a sunday straight after morning services at their much smaller weymouth rd premises.. "they have done a superb job of setting up," he says.. the church will hold services for its 450-strong congregation at its new home as well as running counselling sessions and operating an op shop and a weekly soup kitchen.. "we believe in reaching out to the community.
we want this to be a centre of hope.

That's a very good point Dozy. The building and other's like it, were dedicated to God. I wonder what the exact wording was of this dedication, was there a proviso like 'until death do us apart/until sold'? Do they undedicate the building when it is sold?
If only dedication in baptism to the society could so easily be done.

Letter to BOE re: baptism of my minor children
by Michelle365 inok i posted about a month ago asking for advice on writing a letter to my former congregation regarding my children.
my ex husband still goes to our old hall and although we have joint custody he is raising them to be good little jws on his time.
i understand that in your organization age is not a determining factor in whether or not a person can get baptized, however as the young people ask book points out:

I would also cc a copy to your ex as well as sending a personal letter by registered mail. In that letter explain to him that even though he may justify the baptism on the basis that God's law is above man's law he has already agreed to joint religious decisions as per the contract he signed.

Security cameras inside & outside the Kingdom Hall ?
by gingerbread ini recently heard from a family member who is still active about the new security system in her kh.. during the installation of the digital projector on the auditorium's ceiling, she said that the brothers who came to install it (i'm assuming some from the regional bldg group) also installed security cameras.. she specifically mentions a computer screen at the sound box that shows live feeds of - the parking lot, the carport/drop-off, interior view of the entrance, the lobby and magazine counter & the 'little room' ( the 'elders room' with conference table, computer and printers, filing cabinets, library, etc).. has anyone seen or heard of these being installed in a local hall ?.
comments?.

They lock the doors? So much for welcoming everyone, even if they come late. But there's a safety issue here. There was a huge incident in a third world country where they were locking the workers inside the factory. There was a fire and a large number of people died because they could not get out of the building. I hope someone can break the windows or there's a manual unlock button inside.

The JWs teach that there is more than one covenant that is discussed in the New Testament. The two main covenants are the New Covenant and a Covenant for Kings and Priests (the Kingdom Covenant). This is rarely made clear in their publications and generally the average JW doesn't know that there are these two covenant or their difference.
At a guess I would say that Rattigan is not aware of this either.
Understanding what the New Covenant is makes it clear that it is for all christians. However, the JWs teach that both Covenants are for the 144,000 only.
To me this is important TTATT and the main reason why I cannot accept the JWs view.

If your not familiar with it already you can use the search button on the top left hand side to research more about the UN destroying religion. Here's one link that might be of help as it lists a number of Watchtower articles on the topic.
I'm marking this, you've already brought up some new and interesting points.

Lurkers/faders in the US - a heads up on next week's service meeting (Warwick HQ project to be discussed)
by cedars inhi folks.
atlantis has very kindly let me see a copy of the aug 21, 2013 letter to all bodies of elders in the united states.. they are being instructed to re-organize the service meeting for the week commencing september 2nd (next week) to include a special recruitment talk to attract skilled volunteer workers for the new warwick hq.. an interesting feature of the letter is its comparison of the project with nehemiah's rebuilding of the walls of jerusalem.
considering the relocation of hq is financially motivated more than anything, the analogy is more than a little bewildering.. here is a scan of the opening comments of the two-page outline, to be given in the next local needs item.... .

What expansions are they talking about? Must be meaning their bank account.
From the outline
"Those who volunteer to assist at Warwick may have to make sacrifices in order to help
Jehovah will richly reward their efforts"
The GB couldn't get any more bolder, now they are deciding for God to whom and why he will reward individuals

Differences if the GB referred to themselves in the 1st person
by BU2B ini was just thinking; what if the governing body, the self proclaimed fds referred to themselves in the 1st person and not the 3rd person, what the results would be.
"since jehovah god and jesus christ completely trust the faithful and discreet slave, should we not do the same?
" 2/15/09 wt.

I agree but unfortunately they are not about honesty. They prove themselves deceptive on so many levels.

Reinstatement Hearing Secretly Recorded and on JWStruggle
by RayPublisher inokay people i have a new video that some of you may be interested in- i believe it is the only one of its kind online.
three elders meet with a young female that knows ttatt and is trying to get back into the jws for family reasons.
the audio also includes the three elders disagreeing and deliberating after she is dismissed from the room and then when they call her back in.

Elder 1 was just pathetic and didn't make any sense. He goes on and on about 'conscience' and when dishing out the discipline at the end, goes against what the elders had discussed alone together.
The lady expressed her desire to marry a JW brother, instead of being commended she was made to feel that her desires were wrong.
