Indian High Court Admits there more than two genders
by fulltimestudent inthis is a practical decision - transgendered people have been victimised as much as, perhaps more than, other variant sexualities.
and, while not all transgendered people have a variant genetic identification, many do have.
there is also a long history of social recognition of a third gender in india.. .

I hope this means that seperate toilets will be provided for them, unfortunately this is in India and just providing a decent toilet is a challenge.

New "Donation Arrangement" is a DECOY!
by The Searcher input yourself in the org's position - distasteful as that is - and come up with a solution to solve the problems of not only recovering their stock market losses, but also, ensuring an increase in their dwindling revenue stream.. the major problem is, donations are voluntary (with no future guarantees) whereas pledges are compulsory - in the heart and mind of the giver!.
however, far too many will probably forget/refuse to keep up their monthly tax - with no way of knowing who is 'paying the man', and who is not.
master stroke - make plan a 100% certainty to fail in the first year, based on the 'anonymity' of the setup.

Great scripture The Searcher. This means that the greedy GB men are actually putting in place an arrangment that will be a casue of stumbling. There is no need for the JW members to pledge an amount. There was a need when they were planning to build or renovate their own congregation but the GB does not need to extract promises from their followers, they should be happy to get whatever they get and without question JWs would still be donating.
As it is, the GB have made a mockery out of resolutions, as they are now saying
"What should be done with other existing resolutions?
Any previous resolution to support Kingdom Hall construction should be discontinued." -

THE GRAND APOSTATE "WALKOUT" - January 1, 2015
by RagingBull inafter knowing ttatt for many years now...i had made up my mind long ago that after 2014, i would no-longer subject myself to the boredom, pain, and frustration of following this cult...the wt...the borg.. so...i made up my mind that since the wtbts/gb makes such a big deal as to the "significance" of the year 1914 and this year 2014, there can be no greater time for me to leave it all behind.
i daydreamed of how awesome and telling it would be if everyone that could ( because i do know that some have personal circumstances of their own, as i did too) would just .... walkout...never to attend/step foot in a kingdom hall from that moment on.. independence day of sorts?
there is too much evidence, too many videos, blogs, books, news reports and lawsuits for me to keep lying to myself.

Just wondering, ragingbull, how you deal with 'spiritual' discussions at the moment, it must be hard to play the game?

The genius of the new donation arrangement
by thedepressedsoul inive given this new arrangement a lot of detailed thought and how greatly it benefits the wt and how much it puts a strain on each congregation.. first, let me explain how the old arrangement worked.. you had 3 donation boxes in each kingdom hall.
one for worldwide work, one for kingdom hall construction and one for congregation contributions.. the congregation contribution box accounted for about 60-75% of all donations.
the world wide work box probably accounted for 20-30% and the kingdom hall construction for about 5% of the contributions.

The org makes money out of congregations selling their current hall and building a new one because of the free labour. I can't see them wanting to reduce the number of congregations doing this. It wouldn't be surprising to see a huge reduction in renovations and refurbishements as these prove to be costly to the society with little return.
They will be only too happy to build halls in third world countries for a variety of reasons. Building solid buildings will make them look rich and attract new members who will enjoy the comfort of these halls It provides the JWs with a shelter in times of disasters, unfortunately the society uses these situations to boast. A lot of our third world countries are actually improving in wealth, land is becoming more expensive and likely to only go up in price.
At least with this new arrangement the brother are going to feel poorer and with nothing to show for it and no goals to work towards, such as a nice new hall.

They are using 2 Corinthians 8:12-14 to support this new arrangement. If only they stopped taking snippets out of the bible we would be seeing this secret society being more transparent. Only a few verses later in this same chapter are these words
" 20 We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift. 21 For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man. "

From the 1st May they will have two contribution boxes and this is where they are being very deceitful.
The first box is labelled Local Congregation Expenses
This box is for JWs to contribute towards their own running expenses of their Kingdom Hall AND the 'resolved donations'. That is, the money that has been pledged by individuals for the Worldwide Work.
The second box is labelled Worldwide Work
This box is for anyone who wants to put in extra money (not their pledged money) for the worldwide work.
JWs as a whole are not a very clever bunch, many brothers will put their pledged money into the wrong box, that is, in the box labelled Worldwide Work because, after all, that is what they pledged the money for. Also, if I am reading correctly, previously pledged money by individuals to contribute towards their own new hall or for their own renovations were previously put into the box marked worldwide work.
If their is a continued shortfall in money for the Worldwide Work the Elders or the congregation cannot make any changes until the 1st May the following year.
In the section of the letter for elders only it states that they must aim to meet any shortfall of pledged money the elders are told that they must remind the congregation of their committment (although they are not to solicit the money but apparently reminding the brothers is not the same as soliciting) and try to meet the shortfall from monies that were assigned for their own congregational expenses.
Another point of note is that the elders are specifically directed to disolve previously made resolutions, this statement is made
"What should be done with other existing resolutions?
Any previous resolution to support Kingdom Hall construction should be discontinued."According to the dictionary, a resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something. So what we have here is the head of a so called Christian congregation telling their followers that it is okay to disobey God's direction in letting your yes mean yes and your no meaning no. Of course, it's only okay because it does not serve their own needs.
There is one thing that seems to be missing from this new arrangement. There appears to be no accounting for the cost of publications. It may be that it is just not clarified in this letter. But the first contribution box, labelled Local congregation expenses is for
"These funds should be used to pay approved congregation expenses, including Kingdom Hall operating expenses, minor renovations, and repairs (through the operating committee, if applicable), as well as for all monthly resolved donations that are sent to the branch office."
Does this mean that the cost of publications is considered an 'approved congregation expense'? If so, does anyone know when and how it is approved?

Even though the organization is a secret society the pieces of the puzzle are starting to fit together thanks to people like you and others who put on their thinking caps.
