RE-branding, is the WT going to be a completely new religion in a few years?

thier pushing jw.org and thiers speculation that the name watchtower is going by by.

also they may even drop the name jehovah referencing the new bible at pages 1735-37 i believe.

do you think that the names jehovah's witnesses, watchtower, are going away to be replaced by another?

EOM, in the October 2014 they've printed an artist's impression of the future Warwick headquarters and there is the Watchtower symbol on the building (just the tower).

the governing body sets the scene in the first article by stating how they are like jesus and as humans they are sinless in god's eyes.. then on page 24 they state this.

8 Faithful servants of Jehovah have always been eager to submit to theocratic direction. (Read Hebrews 13:7, 17.) We may initially lack full understanding of the reasons for carrying out our assigned work in a particular way. Nevertheless,we are fully aware of the benefits of cooperating with Jehovah in any adjustments that he sees fit to make.

This is similar to what they have said before. They do make it clear here that any changes are not their changes but are changes made by God himself. This is more than saying that they are speaking for God because they are the ones making the changes, not God and yet they are saying it is God making the changes.

It would appear that they are telling the r& f to accept the changes they have already made to date and they make this comment

They make the claim that the advantages of closing the Branch offices have become clear to everyone involved. What a big fat lie and they don't even substantiate it, I don't think they've even explained why there was a need to close all these branches. If this were true there would be absolutely no need to write the above in the first place. They are terrible manipulators.

They do provide some quotes from a few dubs that have accepted the changes and includes -

Again we have the Governing Body confirm that direct instructions that they issue are not from them but are from God. Any wrong decisions that they have made are there not from them but are from God.

We told ourselves, ‘When faced with Jehovah’s winds of change, it is better to set your sails than to build barriers.’ ”

"God's winds of change" - talk about an uncertain God and one that is left to the whims of a bunch of men who decide what his people will and won't do for his people at any given time.

This magazine represents the 100th year to the month of Chirst's rulership - again we have to ask, what rulership is this?

so scanning through the gods kingdom rules i found this gem on page 228.. .

"in heaven, the 144,000 corulers with christ will recieve authority to share with jesus in weilding an "iron rod" of destruction against all enemies of gods kingdom.

( rev 2 26,27) then, together with powerful angels, the resurrected anointed ones will follow christ, the warrior king, as he sets out to confront the "vast army" of enemies that is closing in on its prey - jehovahs people.".

This puts a whole different perspective on the need to obey the Governing Body because each one of those guys will be in heaven destroying those who don't obey them now, on judgement day.

I doubt it was stupidity that caused them to make the same error. Rehashing the 6,000 year idea got them many results that they were seeking. This included increased hours in field service, higher numbers being recruited and an expectation that drove the Witnesses on. They also sold many more books and magazines than they otherwise would have done.

Full-time service is MORE IMPORTANT than taking care of elderly parents!!! It says so in the Sept 2014 WT

paragraph 20 out of the article in the sept 2014 study wt about fulltime service says this.... .

"full-time servants age, and so do their parents.

when parents are witnesses, likely their fondest wish is for their children to stay in their assignments.

Full-time servants whose theocratic assignments have taken them far from home may face particularly difficult decisions. Those serving as Bethelites, missionaries, and traveling overseers all view their assignment as precious, as a blessing from Jehovah. Still, if their parents get sick, the first reaction might be, ‘We need to leave our assignment and return home to look after our parents.’ Yet, it would be wise to consider prayerfully whether that is what the parents really need or desire. No one should hastily give up service privileges, and it may not always be necessary. Could the health issue be temporary, one with which some in the parents’ congregation would be happy to help?—Prov. 21:5.

11 Consider, for example, the case of two fleshly brothers who served far from home. One was a missionary in South America, the other worked at world headquarters, in Brooklyn, New York. The brothers’ elderly parents needed help. The sons and their wives visited the parents in the Far East to see what help could best be provided and how. In time, the couple in South America were weighing leaving their assignment to return home. Then they received a telephone call from the coordinator of the body of elders in the parents’ congregation. Those elders had discussed the situation and wanted the missionaries to continue in their assignment as long as possible. The elders appreciated this couple’s service and were determined to do all they could to help them care for their parents. All in the family appreciated the loving concern.

12 Whatever strategy a Christian family adopts to care for the needs of elderly parents, all concerned will certainly want to make sure that it reflects well on God’s name. Never would we want to be like the religious leaders in Jesus’ day. (Matt. 15:3-6) We want our decisions to honor God and the congregation.—2 Cor. 6:3.

15 In some lands, governmental authorities provide pensions, welfare programs, and home-care attendants for senior citizens. (Rom. 13:6) Elsewhere, no such organized services exist. Hence, how much physical assistance relatives and the congregation need to provide for older brothers and sisters varies from situation to situation. If believing children live far from their parents, it may affect how much help the children reasonably are in a position to provide. The children would do well to communicate freely with the elders of their parents’ congregation to make sure that all understand the family’s circumstances. For instance, the elders may be able to help out by assisting the parents to learn about and benefit from governmental or social programs locally. They may also observe situations—such as unopened bills or mismanaged medication—that they can bring to the attention of adult children. Such well-motivated and kind interchanges of information can prevent a situation from getting worse and may well lead to practical solutions. Clearly, on-the-spot helpers and advisers, who effectively act as the children’s “eyes,” may alleviate the worries of a family.

16 Out of affection for beloved older ones, some Christians have volunteered their time and energy to meet whatever needs they reasonably can. They make it a point to show extra interest in older members of the congregation. Some volunteers divide the tasks with others in the congregation and care for older ones on a rotation basis. While realizing that their own circumstances do not allow them to engage in the full-time ministry, they are happy to assist the children to remain in their chosen careers as long as possible. What an excellent spirit such brothers show! Of course, their generosity does not relieve children of the responsibility to do what they can for their parents.

don't mind the corrections i made with some of the quotes, the wt obviously doesn't proofread for accuracy.

under the article about "are you convinced you have the truth" they say this about disfellowshippings...... "thus, during the modern-day history of jehovahs witnesses, relatively few many have had to be been expelled from the christian fellowship because they would not conform to gods the governing body's standards.

this is a good one!....under an article about reaching out, (since they need to replace all those waking up, they give some tips on how to get promoted), my favorite quote..... "love all the work you are given to do in the congregation, including sweeping the floor.".

Thanks EOM I was going to compare them myself because you can't get more simplified that the Study Edition.

This is the reason they gave for producing the simplified version

The simplified edition was designed to help those who attend English congregation meetings at the Kingdom Hall but who do not speak English as their mother tongue

It doesn't make any sense as to why they wouldn't want non English speaking Brothers reaching out for jobs such as floor sweeping.

You don't need to go back further than twelve months to find everything in this magazine repeated.

There must be some real problems in the congregations with such a need to keep repeating specific directions.

I was mistaken for a moment in thinking that I was reading the simplified version.
