I can see them doing this as a new tactic to make JWs think that Armageddon s imminent, which is something that they are always trying to o do.

The July 2015 watchtower provides the clue and introduced new light regarding the GT. They said that witnessing work in declaring the good news would come to a stop and JWs would then begin to give a judgement message. They had always taught that the good news of the kingdom would be preached right to the end and they also said that this message includes a judgement message, now they are separate and are being taught at different times.

They would introduce the new name saying that they are making the change in order to prepare for the GT which is about to happen so soon that they need to prepare now. During the GT they will no longer be witnesses as the preaching work will have stopped. Being worshippers of God at that time will be more important than anything.

The organisation believes all other religions will be destroyed before them. The only likely way this could happen would be if they were not legally a religion.

WT Society SEC Records : Hedge Funds, Cayman Islands, Financial Losses - Links

so my wife and i were curious so i researched some financial links and found records indicating that the wt society has been operating at a loss since the year 2012. as you read the links it shows a loss of 10 million $$$ in 2012, about 16 million $$$ in 2013, and a whopping loss of 56 million $$$ in 2014 - where the expenditures exceeded the revenues for each of those years in the amount i've mentioned.

also there is a link on this same website with the sec records indicating that the wt society and it's representatives funneled 40 million $$$$ into hedge funds in the cayman islands as early as 2007. if you look online on other sites you can see evidence that indicates the wt society attended hedge fund conferences to look into more shadiness in 2011 and isn't it curious that by 2012 the wt society started showing losses.

The 2015 yearbook states that $224 million was spent on special pioneers, missionaries and travelling overseas and that there are 24,711 working at branch offices worldwide. It was $200 million in 2013 and $184 million in 2012.

A name change would make those baptised after 1985 a nonsense but I guess they could overcome that by making the congregation take a pledge.

Maybe the money hasn't gone after all but is simply being shifted into some other entity. The WBTS will be bankrupt but all the money will belong to this new religion.

It makes sense, posters here have been suggesting for years that the wtbts have been redirecting the money.

If this is true, there is no money problem, only a problem with the financial viability of the current wtbts. How clever. It makes sense and the easiest way to distance itself from paying out on liability in court cases.

) but canada actually has a national election today.. first results are starting to come in and so far it's all liberal party.. i think it's time harper and the conservatives got the boot.

GT that is an amazing ad, even down to the point that his hand actions look aggressive or annoyed when he is throwing away the boards but have a different affect in the second half of the video. (don't want to give the plot away).

That ad would have cost next to nothing to make but a lot of thought and creativity.

Unfortunately here in Australia a change of government doesn't result in much of a change overall these days.
