i'm just curious as to how it all happened.. to explain.

many years back, before ex-jw websites, i called on a local lady in order to design an extension to her already enormous house.

she was a young, voluptuous gal, married to a much older local business man who spared little expense in order to give his young wife whatever her heart desired.. we chatted for ages.

You might be interested in a Video interview with a couple of Elders from Ireland who sincerely wanted some answers regarding Ray Franz shortly after he was df'd. Randy Watters has made it available on his Youtube. There were a number of JWs from surrounding congregations that were interested in understanding what had occurred. These Elders were prepared to incur considerable costs to inquire and even traveled to Bethel in New York.

Why do witnesses feel the need to put JW ORG on all their social media sites?

have you all noticed the obsession witnesses have of putting jw.org on all their social media sites like facebook, twitter, instagram etc?.

so many put it in their bio section...like some sort of loud proclamation to other witnesses that they are righteous and spreading the message.. it's also very lazy.

now with no personal effort at all, they can just say jw.org and be "witnessing".

There's no question about the GB approving it. In one of the monthly broadcasts they have a staged clip of Anthony Morris III and his wife witnessing. She is wearing a badge picturing Sophie and Caleb.

"The Bunker" WT Conventions 2016 (Gag Me)

in the very near future the gang will be down in a bunker,cellar awaiting the police,military to break in and take them away to camps or executions .

(paranoid much) this is the foretold "prophecy" of the governments turning on religion and saving them for last.since the couple portrayed as simplifying their life by getting rid of a lot of material things is shown to be (about) the same age in the bunker we know it must be any minute now that it will happen.

i have been out for over 35 years and things seem to be getting more bizarre each year.. when did this doctrine really become main stream?

Postate, that is a good point about the couple being the same age.

They are, once again, predicting the future.

They are not giving a precise date but they are showing explicit details of what will happen in the future. They are no different to a fortune teller. I still can't believe that they have done this.

Approved in 1919?

i'm a little puzzled.

if the wtbts was not approved by jehovah and christ until 1919, does that mean that they were not spirit guided until then?.

if not, that would explain the countless errors in doctrine up to that time.. if, however, they were spirit guided, wouldn't that indicate that they had already been chosen?.

there it states that jehovah's witnesses show no prejudice towards homosexuals, and "they neither mock nor mistreat people whose practices differ from their own.

One Eyed Joe referred to a video instruction for Elders. I don't know where this is, however, there are a couple of written sources.

You could add this written instruction that was in the leaked 130 page CO guideline and states

If the body of elders agrees that a brother or sister is blatantly and deliberately ignoring repeated counsel, and his or her dress and grooming is disturbing to the congregation, the elders may determine that the person no longer qualifies to share in the ministry. In such rare cases, no announcement would be made to the congregation. (Chapter 10 – point 9)

If you think appropriate, you could add this where you make the following comment to show the lengths they are willing to go by personally making judgements that individuals will not qualify to engage in ministry activity even though they normally advocate that this is considered to be a biblical instruction that we are each individually responsible to undertake. It is not specific in stating what is unacceptable dress but fits in with your comments. Crazily, it also shows a 'mob' mentality.

It shows how all-controlling Watchtower leaders want to be, when a well dressed man in a business suit can be counselled for their clothing.

Then there is the another leaked document which is a CO outline to be discussed only with the Elders and found at the following site.

I'll post the extract in a separate post following as it will otherwise mess up this post.

You may not want to include it as I don't know if the source has been verified, it does look genuine and if a JW wanted to verify it they could approach a CO with a copy. (Personally I take great issue that they secretly hide these additional instructions from the r&f).

The outline encompasses a whole new issue here - men leaning towards dressing and displaying effeminate qualities and females dressing or grooming in a more masculine way.

If you want to include it there is a huge thread that discusses the many issues that it raises, I would be happy to go through it and make a summary of it if you want. This is not a small issue and goes well beyond their public stand on homosexuality (and well beyond anything the bible instructs).

That's a great article and you have covered many aspects.

Just a few errors spotted -

It shows how all-controlling Watchtower leaders want to be, when a well dressed man in a business suit can be counselling for their clothing.

Counselled instead of counselling

It is inappropriate for a young child to try and convince her friend that her parents are sinners, particularly when that child has no option but to live with them?

This appears to be a statement rather than a question, although it would be better for it to remain as a question. I gather 'it is' was meant to be 'is it'.

This is a poor illustration, as there is no comparison between discarding an aerosol deodorant and being forced to change your identity.

I don't think it was an aerosol can that was identified as being objectionable, it was the bag/contents of the bag or in other words 'unacceptable baggage'.

since in paradise all desire for sex will be gone. Watchtower teaches that there will be no marriage in the New System.[1]The only married people in paradise will be those that survive Armageddon with their marriage partner, who alone will bear children.

They now teach that they don't know whether resurrected ones on earth will be able to marry or not.

Wt 14 8/15 "Is there any reason to believe that those who are resurrected on earth will be able to marry? We cannot say.

For many years, our publications have said that Jesus’ words about the resurrection and getting married likely refer to the resurrection on earth. Also, our publications have said that in the new world, resurrected ones will most likely not marry.* (See footnote.) (Matthew 22:29, 30; Mark 12:24, 25; Luke 20:34-36) However, is it possible that Jesus’ words refer to a resurrection to heaven? Without being definite about this matter, let us examine what Jesus said."

Now finally Caleb & Sofia Anti-Gay Video going viral in Germany too

today spiegel online & bento have an article about the anti-gay video.. spiegel is one of the biggest and most serious news media in germany.. they also report and show that youtubers cut the video and changed it in a funny way.

sofia tells her mother that the teacher said it's fine if they live each other.

then sofia's mother says: "thats wonderful.".

JWs standing on mats whilst Cart Witnessing

i've come across a guy on youtube that has been approaching numerous jws in public cart witnessing.

actually, calling it witnessing is beyond a joke because most of the time they are just standing there and in the case of this youtuber, they walk away in silence or turn their heads.the youtuber is not a jw and i don't think he ever was, he calls himself a christian and i don't think he is affiliated with any particular religion.there is one video where he shows about 4 jws standing on a square plate with a yellow marking on the edge, they each have their own plate.

i am curious as to why they are standing on these?
