Rulehayl, you need to be aware that you are not following any biblical instruction here in regards to Birthdays, rather you are following the ideas of 7 men in New York who are imposing their conscience on yours.
What is your reason for not celebrating Birthdays and how did you come to that conclusion?

Work Christmas functions: Being a Bible Student (unbaptized)
by rulehayl inhi all,i have been studying with the witnesses for more than 6 months and regularly attend both midweek & weekend meetings, and i am nearly at the end of the "bible teach" book.
my boss is adamant i attend team christmas functions.
she knows about my studying and potential baptism next year, and has suggested that i attend and just not participate in activities like kris kringle.

It's likely your Boss is encouraging friendship between your team members. This is well known to help create a better working environment for everyone. Standing on the outside or apart from 'worldly' people does the opposite. -

Confusion with 'Message of Judgement'

There has been some discussion regarding the change in the JWs message so I thought I would have a listen to the recent annual meeting to try to get an idea as to why the JWs are not clear on the matter, once again. It's strange that the Annual Meeting hasn't been put on JW org Tv to date.
It looks like the confusion stems from a talk given by Tight Pants Tony and I've written out a part of that talk.
His talk was titled 'making our blows count'. Throughout, he talks about 'hard hitting blows' which does nothing to conjure up thoughts of a Christians duty in spreading the good news.Times running out. God's made that very clear to us. We need to help people come into the Truth. ...This is a time for decision. We're looking for people who will act on what they learn. That's where our blows will be effective. People have to act upon it and if you're not seeing that, just keep searching. Let the Angels and Jehovah's spirit take you to rightly disposed ones.
And something we forget, umm, our work is twofold. We can forget that sometimes. We're searching and bringing in the rightly disposed and the others, were praising and honoring Jehovah by (gibberish) because they're hearing about Jehovah's judgement day.
So, it's twofold, it's a warning work. You can go a whole morning and you can have what you thought was an ineffective day, you placed no literature but you praised God because they're still thinking about it. Jehovah's Witnesses and their efforts to preach in that territory. So, gotta keep that in mind.
So that's one problem, here's problem two, that we wanna address.... We have so many tools...it can be overwhelming and confusing.
The Watchtower July, 2015 says this about the Great TribulationThis will not be the time to preach the “good news of the Kingdom.” That time will have passed. The time for “the end” will have come! (Matt. 24:14) No doubt God’s people will proclaim a hard-hitting judgment message. This may well involve a declaration announcing that Satan’s wicked world is about to come to its complete end. The Bible likens this message to hailstones when it says: “Great hailstones, each about the weight of a talent, fell from heaven on the people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, for the plague was unusually great.”—Rev. 16:21.
The facts are that they have always stated that they are preaching a hard hitting message, so nothing is really any different but through the trickery of their speech many JWs jump to the conclusion that Armageddon is imminent. Everything remains the same.
Still, Morris' speech makes it sound as if they are in some sort of transitional period where they are preaching both the Good News to those 'rightly disposed' and proclaiming a hard hitting message of judgement to others and doing it with less publications because people will just remember their message long after they're gone.

Actually, she might like to consider the fact that she would find herself catering for a large number of birthday parties.
My daughter's first job was to host children's themed birthday parties. She was in her element and thoroughly enjoyed it. They had three seperate rooms for the different themes. Boys are incredibly loud when having fun together so the seperate rooms were great.

Good on her. What does she consider to be haute cuisine? Whatever it is, don't be too hasty with printing the menus. There's going to be numerous changes to the menu before opening.

Poisonous chicken

Another alternative would be to call the supermarket and relate your experience and ask for a refund, tell them that you intend to keep the chicken as you are taking the issue further but can show it to them if they require. Freeze the chicken.
Call or write to the Health Minister and explain what has happened. Ask him how you can proceed with further investigations. It is in their interest to determine how poisoners chicken is being sold.
Write/email the chicken manufacturers/producers and relate your experience. Tell them you would like to know how this occurred and that you have frozen the chicken. Also, what assurances can they give that this will not occur again. Let them know that you were poisoned and whether they will compensate you.
If you get no where, contact the media.

WTBTS and the CCJW ?
by Crazyguy inapparently they made this new corporation called the christian congregation of jehovah’s witnesses in the year 2001. this is the religious side of the cult and wtbts is the printing side and probably the money side.
since the gb think they are of the ccjw and have even stated their non affiliation with the wt is their a way that jws can use this to their advantage, maybe during a jc etc.?
i for example was baptized before 2000 so with the new corporation formed and the gb going to that side what could be argued during a jc?

For an organisation that says it follows the example of the first century Christians not one similarity can be found with all these legal structures. Even their letters are signed by a legal structure rather than individuals.

Not to toot my own horn...
by Jayk inmy older jw brother tried telling me "you don't take orders very well" which stopped him from inviting me to do a job a make some side cash..we got into a disagreement because recently i started having back problems only while i sleep on my sides.
i think it's because i have a wide back from working out.
once again i explain that and he said "well the job required heavy lifting which is also why i didn't call you" my response being "it's only when i sleep i can still work just don't won't to strain it so i can.

ExJW responsible for calling the police at the Warwick protest, NOT Watchtower
by Diogenesister inaccording to the great apostate, who spent time with police officers at the protest, they informed him that it was not watchtower who called the police in but another exjw who briefly attended the protest and subsequently disapproved of the protesters methods...claiming they were being "violent".. i find this very difficult to understand.
anyone who saw the bravery of the women who stood up in the kingdom hall and told the story of their abuse and rape could not fail to feel compassion and offer their support.. i know there are posters on this forum who disagree with me.they worry that such protests play into watchtowers "persecution" complex, and naturally i understand their position.. but really, how long do we have to fear their power over their members, and through their members, us.. many jw's simply do not know the extent of the paedophile problem,.they do not know about malawi, the un, the bloodless surgery guinea pig deaths ( thank you orphan crow), the suicides....i simply don't believe that protests don't work....if there are enough of them, and they are organized, and most of all if we are united...we shall make a difference, and that difference may be your loved one.. https://youtu.be/ffhr9onbdrk.

I think the above Youtube Kingdom Hall crash is different to the one that was done on the 5th November but there's no reason to think that the JWs reaction would not have been the same.
