Just when you think you've seen it all comes another interesting use of a Kingdom Hall.
A young man serenades his girlfriend with a song (possibly a Watchtower song) from the stage through a microphone and backed by recorded music. Then he steps off the stage and gets down on one knee and proposes as he pulls out a ring from his coat pocket. The large projector screen flashes up behind them with a picture of a sapphire and diamond ring.
Cameras capture the joyous moment as she accepts and they lock together in a loving hug. Family and friends then proceed to congratulate the couple as they begin to play some beautiful classical music.
I doubt it's going to stay up for very long on Youtube.

Jonahstourguide - they could always twist their "join us or die" message as having been a judgement message since 1914 !?.
Now that you mention it. They used to teach that the Great Tribulation began in 1914 and there was just an interruption. So they were teaching that the judgement message was being delivered by them from that time. But now they are saying it will be done in the future since the GT hasn't started yet. -

Questions to be answered/asked by JW Bible students
by The Fall Guy inpotential recruits of the cult known as jehovah's witnesses/wtbts will eventually be asked the following two questions as they hand over every aspect and control of their lives to the org;.
on the basis of the sacrifice of jesus christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to jehovah to do his will?.
do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah’s witnesses in association with god’s spirit-directed organization?.

A bit off topic but I never noticed before that the question phrases dedication and baptism as two seperate things.

This is what they had to say about it in the July 2015 Watchtower-
God’s people will boldly declare a strong message of judgment that will affect all people. The message may be that Satan’s wicked world is about to be totally destroyed. The Bible compares this message to hailstones when it says: “Great hailstones, each about the weight of a talent, fell from heaven on the people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, for the plague was unusually great.”—Revelation 16:21.
The weight of a talent is approximately 75 pounds and is said to be coming from heaven, not from JWs living on Earth. Also, the scripture makes no mention of a message. Hailstones of that size are going to do a huge amount of damage and deaths.
I wonder how long they have had this idea of a judgement message?

Looks like time well spent.
The conditions Incognito has suggested are good. Although I don't know much about child custody cases, here in Australia we have a system where problems and issues are sorted out through an intermediary system first, in an attempt to avoid costly court battles.
If if you are to place conditions on your partner then they will generally not be accepted or seen as reasonable unless you agree to abid by the same restrictions yourself.
How would your partner feel if you were to take her to non JW religious activities? Often churches provide an after school story and play time once a week. It can be fun for the children but you may be totally against this idea yourself. It is also the wrong thing to do if you just intend to do this as a retaliation.

Forum 18: RUSSIA: Justice Ministry seeks complete Jehovah's Witness ban
by OrphanCrow inrussia: justice ministry seeks complete jehovah's witness ban.
by victoria arnold, forum 18. with no public announcement, russia's justice ministry lodged a suit at the supreme court today (15 march) to declare the jehovah's witness administrative centre "extremist", to liquidate it, and to ban its activity.
if successful, this would ban all jehovah's witness activity across russia.. russia's justice ministry has submitted a suit to the supreme court to declare the administrative centre of jehovah's witnesses an "extremist" organisation, order it liquidated, and ban its activity.

Thanks for clarifying the timing of that convention Corney. Still, the point was, it's so cheap and easy to hold a large assembly. It's a lie when the organisation says it needs x amount of Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls and then burdens the flock with the cost and labor.

Today's text caused a fight between myself and my "Still In" wife.

The most offensive part of that text is the claim that they are promoting cleanness in the congregation by obeying the Bible. This is not the case when dealing with pedophiles and shunning people is unchristian. Their blood policy kills people and leaves them with blood on their hands.

Where some of the money is going - from AM III
by Listener inthere is a public talk given by tight pants tony on youtube titled "the real armageddon, why, when"his talk, as usual, doesn't make much sense.
he says armageddon is not a nuclear holocaust or an asteroid hitting the earth it's god's war against all the political nations of the earth.
he talks about a celestial phenomenon that will be phenomenal.

None of it makes any sense. Morris said that even if a person in such and such a religion appeared nice or even a monk, it didn't matter, they were going to be destroyed at the start of the GT by the Governments. The Governments have this thought put into their heads by God.
Somehow the JWs will survive because they go underground. So you've got to trust that the organisation is going to save you, not God, during the first part of the GT.

Here's a JW Youtube about a two day Russian Convention that took place after the ban was imposed. They had over 2,400 in attendance and about 41 were baptized - in the local water hole. Those shown getting baptized looked mostly young or old.
The Convention was held under the watchful eye of the Authorities situated in a white van and It was located on a Brother's own property and in the open air.
The irony of this is that it shows it is possible to hold these assemblies without the need for costly assembly halls.
