That's interesting Blondie. It makes the JWs look very undignified by adopting the use of JW and I wonder if this had anything to do with Nelsons inspired message to stop using nicknames and abbreviations when referring to their own Church.

The phrase "one of Jehovah's Witnesses"
by Ding injws don't say, "i am a jehovah's witness.".
instead, they say, "i am one of jehovah's witnesses.".
what does the second way of saying it convey that the first does not?.

As representatives of Jehovah's earthly organization they would want to be very careful with what they put in their letters.
In Lloyds video he read out a letter they had sent to him over a year ago threatening legal action if he didn't do all that they were demanding. You can't bully someone or demand that they stop doing something if it is not illegal, they are stepping out of line.
Since he didn't do all that they demanded then they have to proceed with legal action or they prove themselves to be deliberate liars.

Ending Bible Study
by Maria Nieves ini have been studying with jehovah's witnesses for approximately two years.
initially, i liked the studies and felt that i was growing closer to god.
however, as the studies progressed, they seemed to become increasingly negative and i did not like what i was being taught.

I picked up this idea elsewhere and thought it was a good suggestion.
You could get the JW a small gift and thank them for the studies that you have had together. Explain that you've gone as far as you are happy with and don't feel you would get anything out of studying any further.
By giving a gift you allow yourself to feel less guilty and your kindness makes easier when you meet in public.
Not that you should feel guilty anyway. As already mentioned, you should have been dropped as a study long ago as you weren't 'progressing' by their standards and that is what they have been told to do. Also, the JW was doing nothing extraordinary as they've been trained to do this. They record their study time and get to mark it down as a study. They report this to their Elders with pride. It's not just in your interest that they have been doing this in the first place. They also expect that most of their studies will not get baptised eventually.
Currently it takes over 12,000 witnessing hours to get one new recruit and that new recruit may be a family member so it takes many more hours to recruit others.

As Stan says, say no.
A lot of JWs will pressure their studies to do more the longer they study. This is what they are trained to do.

Rattingan, could you explain what this business model is that he has found and is it just speculation or has he found factual evidence?

It's unclear that only the JWs were targeted if the cars were spread over a few streets and there was something stolen out of one of the cars.

Babies Who Are Not Dead From An Abortion
by minimus ina woman gets an abortion.
the baby is supposed to die because of the abortion but doesn’t.
should that living baby be put to death or should the baby be given medical help to survive?.

I would never choose to have an abortion. I had a miscarriage at 3 months and it was heart breaking, I realised then that having an abortion would be agonising.

I think No Zombie is on the money with this
Its not that hard to imagine this to occur, if it is linked to the unique publisher id number system, said to be in development.
The unique publisher id is in development and was announced at an internal meeting which was leaked. I think they said that not all JWs would require an id but whether they just meant inactive JWs would not be on the system was not specified.
Individuals could log into their own number or have someone assist them. There would be no need for paper publisher cards but I can't see that reporting hours would go, it would make it much easier for the organization. They would probably link it to their email and could remind publishers when they haven't reported.
They are very slow for such a fast moving organization to get this in place. -

Corney - The "laws" violated by Witnesses are injust and unconstitutional. Would you blame those who break "laws" criminalizing "sodomy" or "apostasy" and those who support them?
Regardless of whether they are unjust or not, they are Russian laws that the JWs broke and continue to break.Legal actions certainly will benefit the actual and potential victims, including every JW and every Russian (torture is a common method of investigation there).
It's horrific that they use torture as a common method of investigation. As to how much legal action by the Watchtower Society will help or will make the Russian Government retaliate further is to be seen.
