Did You Tend To Question The Organization Or Did You Just WANT To Believe?
by minimus ini know some who always questioned the elders, the society, and others because they were typically skeptical.. there are those who just seemed to want to believe whatever they were told.. i was more a skeptic, during my last decade.. .

Children accept the reality they are presented with. They usually don't question it, until their experiences don't fit with what they were taught. There were things that I noticed: God killing everyone who's not a JW, evolution could have been how God created, horrible people being appointed by holy spirit, how draining everything was, why I was so weak I kept messing up. I ignored those things, it was the truth, imperfect men, Satan's system of things, etc. It's amazing what you notice once you're eyes are actually open, all the things you never paid attention to before. Adds up pretty quick.

there are 2 classes of ex Jehovahs witnesses
by the max inhi im part of a group of ex jh,s, we meet for drinks and dinner, go to football games.many of the guys do drugs,(i dont, i like sport) , most live very hedonistic lifestyles, lets leave it at that,(im happily married).
my point is, when i left, i was honest, and got df,d.
now im experiencing the same kind of shit that i experieced in the hall, the ex jw,s are just as judgemental, and stupid as when they were at the kingdom hall, for eg you were df,d we were not,it doesnt matter to them, that their doing coke and getting into group sex.

Wow, wontleave! Judgemental much? I was homeschooled and thrown out for letting my "trashy personality...get the best" of me. Guess we can add a third class of ex-JWs, smart moral apostates that look down on the stupid trashy df'd ones.

Finally, Jesus got it!
by DagothUr inthis is a statement from the article 8/1/1996 questions from readers "since jesus has now been empowered as the one to conquer in gods name, it seems reasonable that his father has told him when the end will come, when he will complete his conquest.. oh, joy, oh, joy!
so the boy finally found out the date of the big a. it certainly seems reasonable!
even jesus gets new light from time to time....

Jeckle! Have one on me! My all-time favorite band! I was really born in the wrong decade.
It's the naughty, rebellious, sexy, satanic. As soon as I got df'd, I hooked up with a dirty hippie that played in a metal band-- been with him ever since!

Dog ownership to be outlawed in Iran?
by darthfader inhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20110419/wl_time/08599206587300.
...those days of tacit acceptance may soon be over, however.
lawmakers in tehran have recently proposed a bill in parliament that would criminalize dog ownership, formally enshrining its punishment within the country's islamic penal code.

Laws based on religion always make perfect sense.

Did you watch R rated movies when you were in it?
by ldrnomo inlast night, i watched an r rated movie that featured violence.
at least 30 people were shot in the first 45 min of the movie.. while i was in and an elder, i watched r rated movies all the time just didn't talk about it.
so how many of you watched r rated movies even though "mother" said not to?.
-
DanaBug
Of course I did. Every chance I got. Even wore my mom down to rent them for us sometimes when my dad was at elders' meetings. I begged my parents to let me see Sybil and they watched it with me, I can't remember if that's rated R though. I wish I'd never watched that though, some of those scenes still flash in my head sometimes, disturbing. I remember watching Silence of the Lambs and the Shining with my parents too. All of us kids loved LOTR and the Hobbit, so mom took us to see every one of those at the theatre. It was when they started denouncing movies like that in talks and assemblies, I started thinking this was all bullshit and wanting out. Ridiculous, those movies were no more demonic than Disney movies, guess the cartoon format makes it more innocent. I'd say most r&f watch whatever they want, they just don't talk about it.

July 15th WT out - Coming out Swinging at Apostates Hard
by LostGeneration inthis is one of the most aggressive watchtowers i think i have ever read.. four study articles on not "following the crowd" not following unrealities(page 13) not following false teachers, meaning apostates of course(p 15).
avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.
(para 7, pg 16).

Would it not be interesting if the final version of the July 15th WT was different?
That would be interesting. Some halls print off the pdfs for people who don't get ordered copies.
