TD, I've just finished reading the thread you recommended above. It is indeed an eye opener - real, logical conversation by active Jehovah's Witnesses on the blood issue. What is also remarkable is the courtesy and respect evident in those 10 year old posts. It almost leaves the impression, within the context of other more recent threads I have been reading, that this board got hijacked somewhere along the line by vandals. Anyway, many thanks for the tip. Enlightening.

Bombshell: Is the AJWRB for real?
by Nickolas init appears, from my recent visit to www.ajwrb.org that there is an underground group of practising jehovah's witnesses who are seeking to change current blood doctrine.
they call themselves the associtated jehovah's witnesses for reform on blood, or the ajwrb.
does this group actually exist?

Having digested this thing overnight, I recognise my comment above was unwarranted. The AJWRB is for real. That seems patently clear. And there does seem to be a movement within the WTBTS - I hesitate to use the adjective "subversive", but that will be how the movement is perceived by the hierarchy and for that reason defining the dimensions of the movement will not be possible - and maybe it's not even important. Just knowing that it exists is enormously encouraging.
Congratulations to Mary and the others involved in the AJWRB endeavour. You have all done a remarkable job putting together a devastating argument challenging the legitimacy of the WTBTS blood doctrine. More importantly, I believe your work will help undermine the Society by exposing it for what it really is.

I am left with doubt that there might be a splinter group within the WTBTS determined to make a difference. If there is a group, let's take this offline. If not, then let's just all move on.

I have one key question for you, Mary. Are there active Jehovah's Witnesses involved in the reform movement?

I am humbled and honoured to meet you, Mary. So, it is you I have been reading about. I will be looking into your older posts. I hope someday to meet you in person.

Anonymity is not a problem. It's the number of anonymous ones that is important. It defines how large the movement is and how much of a threat they pose to the Governing Body. The fact of the matter (from what I am reading so far) is that there are active Jehovah's Witnesses involved in this group and if they are not uncovered and purged from the Society they threaten to undermine it's foundations from within.
Go, AJWRB.

Is there an estimate of the number of active Witnesses involved?

The question is important because it is solidarity alone that keeps the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society intact. If the AJWRB actually exists, it means there is a faction of dissenters within the WTBTS who are risking being disfellowshipped if discovered but who, if they are successful, will help to loosen the grip of the Governing Body on the rank and file.
If the group exists, does it not follow the hierarchy must know about them and must be trying to find out who they are? If it exists, and their number is significant, it pulls at the very underpinnings of the Society itself.

Good thing we learned our lesson, eh?
Ouch. But you said it all, BB.

1975, generation change and New Light - the WTBTS position
by Nickolas inthe words below are taken from the latest version of the watchtower bible and tract society's history book.
it is a response i have received from a jehovah's witness to my questions about how the watchtower bible and tract society represented the year 1975 and recent changes in generation teaching.
beyond saying there are some interesting insights into the society's position on new light, i will withhold comment until i get some feedback from the board.. the bible itself says: do not interpretations belong to god?

I cannot be but seriously impressed by the brainpower in here. Old timers and newbies. Dynamite against the foundation of the Watchtower.
